It is hard isn't it. Most of us agreed that level 2 is the hardest! But like level 1, you will be amazed how quickly you you improve with it. Weldone for being 1/3 the way through!

VJay · 08/01/2011 16:55

Thanks Micklee and I like the fact that level 2 is thought of as the hardest, I won't be so nervous for level 3.
I find the plank exercises soooo hard!

MickyLee · 08/01/2011 17:13

And isn't the start false hope! we are used to starting with push ups on level 1, then head to level 2 and only have to do about 5 of them because we have to touch our toes first! Makes us think 'this is easy' then it kicks in Grin

VJay · 08/01/2011 17:21

Grin, tis the devils work

HereMeRoar · 08/01/2011 17:24

Day 12 here, but I failed to do the shred on days 10 or 11 Blush Blush Blush. I went onto level 2 today. I hate the plank crap Angry. But, I attempted it, and that is good Smile.

I also weighed myself and have lost 2.8kg (about 6lb) since the 28th Dec. So I can't complain Smile.

MickyLee · 08/01/2011 17:47

Congratulations on the weightloss :) heremeroar Bet you are really pleased. How long ago was the 28th? About 10 days!!! Wow

toobusytothink · 08/01/2011 18:16

Lostgirl I love your posts - they always make so much sense.

Last day of Level 2 tomorrow. Looking forward to moving onto level 3. Need to get another dvd in preparation for afterwards. 50 mins is way too long for me on any day. 6 pack 6 weeks (or whatever it's called) sounds perfect if it isn't just abs dvd. Alternatively I might try my Davina superbody workout again. It's also only 30 mins. Feeling I'll find it much easier since doing shred.

Well done everyone.

LostGirl · 08/01/2011 19:44

MickyLee, I did the shred for about 6 weeks and dropped a dress size. Whilst I was doing it I read some things about weight training and brought a book which aims to dispel the myth that women should not lift heavy weights. My aim was to increase my metabolism after years of mucking it up with yo yo dieting and to increase my bone density. Like you due to dh's work I cannot get to a gym so I brought a set of dumbbells and a barbell and a stability ball and started following a programme that was
in the book. I had to use quite a lot of the alternative exercises due to not having all the equipment I needed but the exercises definitely worked. I did three workouts a week, always lifting as heavy as I could for each exercise and I dropped another 2 dress sizes. I did also start running alongside the weight training for a while and managed to build up to 13 miles before life once again dictated that I didn't have enough time to do this. Now if I want a workout on a non lifting day I will do a circuit routine at home like this: please ignore the scary pictures on the site, these exercises will NOT make you look like that!

toobusytothink if you find Davina easy after doing the shred then you need to find a way to make it more challenging for you like trying to increase the number of reps: don't follow her, work at your speed and do as many as you can in the same time, next time you do it try and do one more rep etc, and make sure you use heavy enough weights so it is challenging.

Day 24 [done yesterday] and day 25 Level 3 done

Am still doing Anita type moves on this, but am going to attempt the proper ones as off tomorrow. I LOVE the music at the start of this, the bit where you have you push yourself up in plank with each arm. Thing is though I am getting carpet burns on each arm from this, but never mind, if people get the wrong impression and think I am into kinky carpet sex so be it.

I have to say, I am really looking forward to stopping this in 5 days time. But it just worries me all the work I will have done, will be wasted if I get lazy again.

VJay · 09/01/2011 10:14

Day 12 level 2 done, I found the first 2 circuits ok then was crap at the third, but it is only the second day of this level Smile

conquita I was wondering about when the shred stops will I sag again, but I've got my old Davina which I will start up again.

Heremeroar well done on the weight loss Smile

MickyLee · 09/01/2011 10:21

I can't do it today. I lent my Shred dvd to a friend so she could copy it and she forgot to give it back yesterday Angry

Should get it back tomorrow.

Will warm up, grab my weights and do some moves which I remember for today

DaydreamDolly · 09/01/2011 11:58

Day 4 level 1 and it's definitely getting easier. I didn't have to stop at all this time, did all the weights and lunges and press ups without cheating whoop woo!

Definite improvement in muffin top already. Have dropped 2lbs since Tuesday but have been restricting calories too.

MickyLee · 09/01/2011 12:21

Thats great weight loss in 5 days Daydream. Welldone

Menagerie · 09/01/2011 13:04

Hi,

I'm now on level 2 but doing the very easy Anita version. Just can't do some of this stuff at all (those bunny hop plank things and the walking press ups. Clothess seem looser already but I've not lost a pound. Are you all dieting too?

HereMeRoar · 09/01/2011 13:05

Well done on the weightloss Dolly Smile.

I did an extra go on level 1 late last night to make up for skipping day 10. So I guess if I do level 2 x2 today then I'm caught up for my missing day 11 as well Hmm. Not really sure I can face the prospect though, as my upper back and shoulders really really ache from my first go at level 2 yesterday. I think it's all the plank position stuff. I just find it so hard maintaining that position Sad.

toobusytothink · 09/01/2011 13:56

Level 2 over - thank god for that.

If I never do another V raise in my life it will be too soon !!!

Level 3 tomorrow - bring it on.

Menagerie - not dieting at all. Thought I'd do exercise first and then add in sensible eating later. One thing at a time for me ...

chocoholic · 09/01/2011 15:56

Well done toobusy, no more level 2 til you decide to do it all again! Grin

Well day 5 for me and I kept it up through the weekend despite the dog and DS helping me. I'm dieting this time too so am already feeling a bit lighter after all the crap I ate over Christmas.

I'm refusing to weigh myself though as it would be too much of a shock as to how much I put on. Waiting til I drop back down a dress size.

HereMeRoar · 09/01/2011 16:45

Hello ladies

Day 13 today and another session of level 2 completed. Fuck. That woman is trying to kill me! My upper back just isn't strong enough for all the plank stuff. After the 3rd circuit strength section my shoulders are too tired to be able to get into the plank at all for the cardio straight afterwards. I had to do jumping jacks instead, which at least kept my heart rate up. I couldn't do the plank position for the final ab twisty thing either Sad (it's not my abs that are the problem either!), so I did bicycle crunches ala level 1 instead.

Please tell me the dreadful aching between my shoulder blades and across my shoulders will ease in a couple of days Confused?

HereMeRoar · 09/01/2011 16:46

PS I also saw myself reflected in the window jumping up and down. I look like an overweight woman with chipshop arms and a saggy tummy bouncing rather too much Sad.

toobusytothink · 09/01/2011 17:07

HereMeRoar - I had exactly the same problem in level 2. I have very strong arms and abs but it was my shoulders which gave up during the squat thrusts and final abs exercise and did the bicycle crunches too. Then after cool down I did the twisty ones as by then shoulders had recovered.

Menagerie · 09/01/2011 19:54

Heremeroar - I did the same with the abs. No way I could get back into plank, so I just lay on the floor and did those side crunches.

Also - that one where the forearms are face front and then lifted to eye level while you squat? I was bellowing like a navvy on every one. There's some muscle down the forearm I seriously never knew existed. It was sleeping peacefully for all these years...

VJay · 09/01/2011 20:37

Heremeroar I do the same too, I just cannot get into the plank after those 3rd circuit strength exercises either, today I just jumped on the spot with the ds's joining in Grin

conquita · 10/01/2011 03:02

Level 3 Day 26 done

Today I attempted My Girl Nat Moves, except the one where you are in a plank and have to lift the weight and then hoik your leg up became a problem due to knobbly dumb bells and it hurting my hands. Other than that, am absolutley LOVING this level. In fact I might still carry on with it all next week once I have finished and do it Monday - Friday. I cannot imagine life without Killian now. I love her and her crazy eyes.

I have still not measured or weighed myself while I have been working on this. The big reveal will be on Friday! I am not dieting per se'. I do still have a hot chocolate each night with 5 2 biscuits.

Heremeroar, I do the shred in front of a mirror and know exactly what you are talking about when you catch your reflection.

toobusy, I am so glad you will on level 3 with me Smile I am sure you will like the fact it is a very fast 20 minutes compared to level 2. Before you know it you are on circuit 3 it is the best level.

MickyLee · 10/01/2011 09:20

Can't wait for your big reveal on Friday Conquita :)

Still not got my dvd back from my friend. Have to do my own shred dvdless again today.

I think I am gaining inches again though because I can't stop eating atm. I am eating so much sugary stuff too. Must stop pigging out (but better than smoking i supoose)

VJay · 10/01/2011 10:17

Day 13; level 2 day 3 done Smile, I got up at 7 and did it before getting ready for the school run (my ds only went back today), so I felt quite sprightly this morning Grin. I've got 7 days til I'm on level 3 and I cant wait after reading your level 3 posts.

conquita did you weigh/measure yourself at the beginning?
