Day 4 done. Am I supposed to do 30 days straight, or have a break for a day. My dh says I should have weekends off, so was just wondering what you all do.

lilly I have been really sore since starting it and I think I manage about 90% of it, which is better than none Smile Good luck

lilly153 · 30/12/2010 15:29

thanks VJayJingles im hoping im not going to be sore for the 30 days Shock im guessing once my body gets used to it it might ease up a bit

VJayJingles · 30/12/2010 15:36

That's what I'm hoping too Grin, I must admit I'm not as sore today, but that means that I will soon have to move up to level 2 and be sore again!

toobusytothink · 30/12/2010 16:05

VJay - I don't take any days off (in fact felt guilty because I couldn't do it on xmas day). Up to you though really, but it does get strangely addictive.

lilly - I was sore days 2 and 3 but not at all after that on level 1. Am a tiny bit sore on inner thighs today after doing level 2 for the 1st time, but nowhere else.

Menagerie · 30/12/2010 19:07

Sorky - you didn't do all three levels in one go did you?

I'll get muscle seizure by proxy if you did!

toobusytothink · 30/12/2010 19:49

Well that explains a few things. I just double checked my weights and each one weighs 2.78kg. Apparently, the girls use 5lb weights which equates to 2.27kg. So I took half a kilo off each weight and guess what ... it was much easier. I actually managed to complete all the level 2 moves - just. Still bloomin hard though. My heart is still pumping.

Need to do my measurements now - better late than never. Not sure I will measure correctly but we'll see. Keep at it girls

OIckletownofbethlehem · 30/12/2010 20:44

What is this ???? I want to play! new to MN and useless at finding old threads. What is this new weightloss thing and how do I go about getting started?

Am currently pregnant but need some thing for afterwards to fight the inevitable flab. 20 mins a day sounds ideal.

SproutsMakeTortoiseFart · 30/12/2010 21:41

Hello. I haven't shreded since August! Blush Before that i had completed 60 days of shred and was feeling better about myself.
Have over eaten again lately especially over Christmas!
I need to buy new weights because mine are cheap plastic ones that are sand filled. One of which has started to split and leak sand from doing the exercise where you do plank thing on the weights lifting arm and leg!

Any recommendations for decent weights but not more than £20! Smile

I hope to get back to it at beginning of Jan depending on the cough i have at the moment as i am asthmatic and jumping around at the moment would be a bad idea! Grin

toobusytothink · 30/12/2010 22:15

OIckletown - dvd called 30 day shred. You've got the idea. You do 20 mins every day and judging by previous posts, it really does get results.

SMTF - sorry can't recommend as I use my DHs. Think you can get them from any sports shop.

sorky · 30/12/2010 23:03

Good god no Menagerie!
Just day 1, Level 1 & I hurt so much it's quite pathetic.

In fact, I don't mind admitting that by 3.30pm I was so sore I had a large red wine to with the stiffness.

It's definitely what Nanny Plum would do in the circumstances I'm sure of it !!

Will do it tomorrow night though......Shred, I've drunk all the wine ;)

HereMeRoar · 31/12/2010 00:42

5lb weights Shock? Seriously? The ones I used today were 0.5kg Blush.

conquita · 31/12/2010 07:43

Level 2 Day 16 done.

Wore a heart rate monitor today and apparantly burnt off 228 calories!! Am a bit Hmm with the monitor though as it says my heart rate is quite fast compared to when I count it myself on my pulse. Anyway that should give an idea on how much you could burn shredding!

MickyLee · 31/12/2010 10:16

Thanks for the info conquita I did read 200-300 so good to know that was correct. Looking forward to getting BFBM dvd as it is 50 minutes so should burn off double. Not that I will do it everyday.

lilly153 · 31/12/2010 11:26

228 calories is that all? I can do half an hour on my exercise bike burn 800 calories and not even feel a bit of pain and I'm only on day 3 of shreding and I'm dyin :(

HereMeRoar · 31/12/2010 18:30

Day 4 completed and this morning when I awoke the pain was much redced, whoop whoop Grin!

I want to be Anita Blush.

lilly153 · 31/12/2010 18:38

HearMeRoar I've not long finished day 3 and I can hardly move my legs are so sore so I hope I wake up tomorrow feeling a lot better :)

conquita · 31/12/2010 23:55

Level 2 Day 17 done

Nearly ready to start Level 3 soon ohmygod terrifed! Today my heart rate monitor showed 218 calories. My fitness level had increased since yesterday so maybe that is why there is 10 calories less burnt. There is also a fat burnt number [4.00] on the monitor too, but I don't understand what that means, I don't really understand the fitness level either to be honest. I got the heart rate monitor for xmas! Hmm

When I first started level 1, it took me 4 days to be able to walk like a lady again, so stick with it.

HereMeRoar · 01/01/2011 11:29

Day 5 done Grin

I nearly managed everything on level 1 today with 1kg weights. I can see that in a few more days the last abs circuit will be doable, The thing I struggle most with is the first cardio circuit Blush. I can't yet get through all the bouncing, although at least 5 days of kegels have sorted out one issue Blush.

Oh, do I have to be able to manage proper press-ups before level 2? I have never managed one in my whole life. I can do the whole lot in the modified position, but I can move only about 1cm in the full press-up position and it feels like someone is cutting my abs open with a sword Sad.

VJay · 01/01/2011 13:04

Day 6 done! I wasn't going to bother, but I though it's the first of January and I need to push myself.

Heremeroar, I can only do the push ups in the modified position too but I'm still going to move up to level 2 on day 11.

I am fiding the cardio easier now which is a relief and the diet (or not eating crap) starts today Smile

MickyLee · 01/01/2011 17:33

Well done VJay.. I didn't manage today :(

The new Killian Dvd has come. Shall be starting it tomorrow Confused
I watched it all yesterday and it looks very hard!

Where are you redderthanred Hope you are ok and feelng better x

conquita · 01/01/2011 23:01

Level 2 Day 18 done.
Heart monitor showed 208 cals burnt today but 19.57 in fat burn. Which I think is the amount of time I was burning off flab. I do hope this was from the thigh area.

Re the modified pushups, I can't do them either, and went onto level 2 still doing the girly ones.

Level 2 is strange, some days I can do all of it, some days not so. I find the abs easy and prefer the cardio to Level one.

Good luck with the new Killian Micky, let us know how you go!

HereMeRoar · 02/01/2011 11:12

Checking in for today and v nearly managed all of level 1, but my abs gave out about 10 seconds before the end of the last abs circuit, drat! After only 6 days I'm pretty pleased so far and my stomach is starting to look different Grin.

Dh is finding it good too. Yesterday he did level 2 in the evening after doing level 1 in the morning. He's done level 2 again this morning and it does seem quite tough. He aches all over again too. The kids wanted him to go straight on to level 3 after level 2 last night, hee hee hee!

MickyLee · 02/01/2011 12:00

Just done the new Killian dvd. It was so different. I missed Anita and Nat, the new girls just smile all the way through it as if they are walking! I liked it though and really was dripping with sweat at the end. Won't do it everyday because it is too long but great to mix in with Shred. I feel great now.

I gave up smoking NYD too :) , really made my mind up to quit and will not be smoking anymore. Can't wait to see how my fitness improves, breathing etc, while working out.
