I missed yesterdays workout and so can't be bothered to do todays. I am feeling really down, one because it is the time of the month and two because I am having withdrawel symptoms of quiting smoking! I am going to force myself to Shred now though. I know I will feel so much better once I have done.

Hope everyone is ok and still positive :)

NicknameInUse · 06/01/2011 11:28

chocoholic, I too have sinned. I managed to get a couple of days in over Christmas but as I expected it was nearly impossible to fit it in. Then I managed to get the flu and have only just recovered. Didn't eat as much as I normally do over Christmas (still ate plenty though!).
Have ordered Just Dance 2 for the Wii after playing it with my sister, it's so much fun and bloody nackering! So will start doing that too, just for the beans Grin

Will be starting back Level 1 Day 1 today. Hopefully I'll be able to get through it with less knee related crap this time round....

Oh and merry Christmas and happy new year to you all! Sorry, I had no internet access over the holiday. Also, "hi!" to our newest shredheads! Smile

VJay · 06/01/2011 11:28

Come on mickylee, I'm cheering you on, you can do it Smile

On that note I'm not shredding today, I'm too ill, so level 2 will hopefully start tomorrow.

chocoholic · 06/01/2011 11:30

Well done on stopping smoking Micky. It will get easier I promise and you will be so glad you did it. My DH stopped at New Year too and although he has been in a demon mood he smells so much better Grin.

Day 2 for me and the difference from first time around is amazing. Last time I was on ibuprofen on day 2 for the leg muscle pains. This time......I can still walk!!!!

scruffymomma · 06/01/2011 11:42

Come on MickyLee, I've been lurking on here for ages and you and Red have been so motivating. You are STRONG, this is EASY for you....

Currently on day 9 level 1 and quaking at the thought of level 2.

I put on 5lbs over Christmas but considering I did a fair bit of shredding on top of the professional eating I'm not too fussed, back on track now.

And a quick question:

Has anyone on here who was left with a post baby "tummy shelf" ever managed to get rid of it? Am despairing at my ever wobbly belly.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 06/01/2011 12:34

Hello all, have just confirmed my order with Amazon......

Grin
HonestyBox · 06/01/2011 14:53

Hello shredders, I did 10 days of level 1 before Christmas, felt great but I'm lacking the motivation to start up again. Anyone else in a similar position? I am super lazy btw. Had lost 2 pounds before I gave up but it felt like more.

MickyLee · 06/01/2011 15:36

Thank you for the encouragment.. It is so nice knowing we are here for each other :)

I did Shred in the end, and I felt so much better for. In fact, after my shower I headed out for a nice hour long stroll.

I am back on track I think now Confused

Welcome back nickname you will catch up soon.

Grin @ scruffy, My muffin top has strunk loads, still a bit wobberly but thats my problem area so i suppose the last place to lose it.

honesty get back on it, only 20 minutes and you will feel so much better

Spamspamspam · 06/01/2011 17:26

Hello all Grin

Do you mind if I join you? Day 1 Level 1 done today - OH MY!! Shock

I got the DVD mid December, watched it once and have been terrified of it ever since but today I thought I am going to have to do it. I have been cycling and swimming and had planned to start my running programme today but it was absolutely pouring with rain so no choice but to do it. It was hard, particularly the push ups but I got through it - everything hurts three hours later so dreading tomorrow - onwards and upwards!

VJay · 06/01/2011 18:27

honesty join me on level 2 tomorrow, I was meant to start it today but felt too ill, but will do it tomorrow.

Well done mickylee Smile

conquita · 06/01/2011 22:10

Level 3 day 23 done

Am not feeling too good these days but am determined to complete the 30 days and then I will give myself 2 days off.

VJay · 07/01/2011 11:09

I did the warm up for level 2 but had to stop, I'm just not well enough. Will try tomorrow Smile

Well done conquita only a week to go!

chocoholic · 07/01/2011 11:28

Hello all, welcome to the thread spamspamspam - hope you aren't hurting too much today.

Day 3 for me and going well apart from press ups. I just don't think I'm meant to do them Grin

Wherethewildthingswere - I think you might be able to find shred on youtube if you want to start early Grin

Nickname, glad you are back starting it again too. Hope your knees hold up this time.

Enjoy your shredding everybody.

mollie1968 · 07/01/2011 21:38

Hi i have been thinking about this dvd for while, now xmas has gone really do need to do something. Can somebody let me know is it all squats etc or are there any Davina type dance steps?...allergic to those.

chocoholic · 07/01/2011 21:51

No dance steps at all.
Level one if you want to take a look.

It a no messing kind of workout, designed to work you hard and make you sweat. Grin

MickyLee · 08/01/2011 05:38

I did my other Killian dvd yesterday. I ust don't like it at all. I get bored and it is far too long.

I am going to carry on with the Shred and maybe sqeeze in the new dvd when I feel more motivated for a longer workout.

I am thinking of getting 'No more trouble zones' in a month or so. Any one tried it?

DaydreamDolly · 08/01/2011 12:10

May I join you please ladies? I'm on day 3 Level 1, although on day 2 I decided to be cocky and try level 2. Big Mistake. Big. Huge. Back to level 1 for me!
My right bottom cheek is hurting after this morning, but nothing else is aching too much which is a bit concerning... am sure I'm doing it right?
Is level 3 better than level 2? Level 2 is evil!!

chocoholic · 08/01/2011 12:21

Which other Jillian one have you got Micky? I have one sitting in my amazon basket but not checked out yet.

Hi Daydream, welcome to the thread. Stick with level one for the whole 10 days, level 2 is such a pig!! Grin Level 3 is much nicer.
Are you following Natalie for everything? What weights are you using? Might be worth upping them if you can do it all.

I have some heavier weights waiting for me at Argos so might collapse after using them tomorrow.

Sprang out of bed to Shred this morning - very strange, and on a Saturday too!! Going to try to do weekends this time round rather than just weekdays.

DaydreamDolly · 08/01/2011 12:30

Thanks chocoholic, not sure how heavy my weights are cos I am using DH's dumbells, just without the extra weights on the end. They're pretty heavy as they are.

I'm following Natalie, I think I'll just have to go lower on those damn squats!
Good to hear level 3 is nicer.

I would kill for Jillian's stomach and arms ... anyone got there yet?! My stomach is vile a little wobbly Grin

V impressed that you sprang out of bed to Shred, the bug has got you!

MickyLee · 08/01/2011 13:02

I have Burn fat boost motabilism. It is basically 50 minutes of jumping jacks, mountain climbers, jumpy, sweaty moves from the aerobic side of shred! I am sure it is very effective but I am so not into it.

I like doing the strength side and like feeling a little bit sore in my problem areas the next day, so i miss that.

From what I gather (no expert) there is BFBM (one I have) which is all aerobic. No more trouble zones which is all strengh. 6 week 6 pack, all abs. Then Shred which is a good mix.

I love Shred though :)

LostGirl · 08/01/2011 13:41

I have done both trouble zones and 6 week 6 pack. Trouble zones has a lot of the same strength moves from the shred so will feel very familiar, it is the same length as the metabolism one. 6 week 6 pack is shorter, about 35 minutes each workout including warm up and cool down and is definitely NOT an abs only dvd. Moves such as squats, lunges and press ups all work your abs as well as you have to use them to stabilise your entire body so they are all included, as are moves like mountain climbers etc to keep your heart rate high. I have only done each one once (I was with a friend in the states who had them) but if I had to choose one it would be the 6 week 6 pack one. I hate the title but it is a good full body workout, and most importantly it's short Grin

MickyLee · 08/01/2011 14:24

Thanks for that LostGirl, I will next get 6 week 6 pack. I ust can't handle 50 minutes more than once a week! Can you recommend any other workout dvds?

LostGirl · 08/01/2011 14:36

Tae Bo can be quite fun but a bit repetitive. Tbh I think dvd's can only take you so far. Once you reach a plateau with the dvd's then you might be better off investing in some adjustable dumbbells and creating your own workout or finding something on line. To keep seeing changes you need to keep challenging your body in new ways and that means changing your workout every 3-4 weeks by doing different exercises, using different numbers of reps etc. These dvd's will only get you so far because you use one weight for all the exercises where in an ideal world you would probably need a different weight for each individual exercise to ensure you were working it effectively.

MickyLee · 08/01/2011 15:08

What do you do LostGirl? I am a bit stuck to think of different ways to workout because I don't have anyone to watch DS for me. I would love to start running but have to wait for DS to start nursery in June. Also have limited space and money for workout equitment.

VJay · 08/01/2011 15:48

Day 11, and have just done the first day of level 2, I'm feeling quite pleased with myself but it was tough, I did do a lot of the easier modified versions and the very last ab workout I just did crunches as I was too tired, but I thought it was better than nothingSmile
