If you look at the back of the book there is a list of 100 allowed foods and tofu is number 72. So presumably tofu is allowed after attack then? Or can you only have tofu if you do not eat meat Confused

seedlessgrape · 07/04/2011 11:41

Ah, I'm not using the book .....

MarieFromStMoritz · 08/04/2011 07:04

Well, I have done 5 days on the Dukan Diet and have lost 5 pounds. I am chuffed, actually Smile

I have to say, since the disappearance of Slender (not sure if anyone remembers this), Dukan is easily the best diet I have ever done.

nikki1978 · 08/04/2011 07:53

Well I am 3 days in and 4lbs down. Have had the opposite problem to constipation so googled it and found something that said eating protein and no fat can lead to diarrhea then death Shock. Erm is that true?

divadoll · 08/04/2011 07:58

Hiya all...had a week off doing some painting and decorating and not really worrying about the weight so much. Had a bit of a lapse last weekend when the loser boyfriend bit the dust yet again and so sat with the first firepit of the year and a WHOLE bottle of red wine and a WHOLE box of Thorntons chocs from Xmas. Felt a little rough the next day and the chocs helped the constipation a bit LMAO but managed to keep the weight off all week because of being constantly active. If only I could give up work completely and then I would be able to stay thinner..LOL.
Down to 67.2 this morning and was 68.2 this time last week, so 2kg in a week is pretty good for me. I have been really keeping up the fluids but eating a lot less due to being busy. Evenings are always my downfall and want to try not to eat anything after 8pm this week to see if that helps at all.

foreverondiet · 08/04/2011 08:02

nikki - for me constipation more of a problem that anything else... although the oatbran does help.

Firstly you aren't eating no fat - eggs and meat both contain fat. Secondly you are going to start eating veggies in next couple of days. If its a longer term issue you might need to look about whether this way of eating works for you. I tried to do the IPD and I was so constipated I had to stop.

seedlessgrape · 08/04/2011 12:23

Three days on Attack and I've lost 5lbs which I'm really pleased with :) I just need to concentrate over the weekend and try not to lose sight of the longer term plan. It's going to be difficult as my DD is with her father this weekend so me and the boyfriend have two days to ourselves - normally this would mean long and leisurely breakfasts in bed, pub lunch and/or dinner out and all accompanied by copious amounts of alcohol.

However, as the sun is forecast to continue to shine I shall suggest swapping the breakfast in bed for a good 10-15 mile cycle and then lots of lovely walks and healthy food.... and no alcohol !!!

foreverondiet · 08/04/2011 17:31

I found some toasted oatbran cereal in my local health food shop. Ingredients are 100% oatbran and nothing else! Not sure if its allowed on attack/cruise but thought for me would be ok:
www.mornflake.com/products/oatbran/toasted_oatbran.php

Had it with activia pouring natural yoghurt for breakfast.... (annoyingly 2% fat, don't seem to do fat free version).

cazza40 · 08/04/2011 17:44

So I am on day 4 and have lost 4 lbs which I am really pleased about . I am worrying about the weekend though as we have friends coming round tomorrow night and are going to have BBQ . I know I will have a drink or 2 I just have no willpower. Am I really going to mess the diet up if I do that ? Should I have some protein only days maybe ? Any tips from others who have fallen off the wagon would be gratefully received !

foreverondiet · 08/04/2011 17:49

cazza if you are going to drink then still to low carb spirits, although best not to drink so early on.... but better to have a couple of glasses of wine and stick to meat at barbeque than to go mad eating all the carbs as well.

MarieFromStMoritz · 10/04/2011 07:41

Please help me, I'm about to sabotage my diet...

OK, so I'm on Day 9. Overall I have lost a few pounds although the weight loss has slowed the last couple of days. I was feeling great, not hungry at all, doing really well. Then yesterday I had a couple of fat free Mini Babybells. And then a fat free ice cream as it's stinking hot and I was sitting in the sun. Today, I had my breakfast (yoghurt, oat bran & Splenda) then I had a couple of fat free Mini Babybells.

Now I am starving and want some toast Angry.

I am not sure I can last much longer. I was doing so well. I'm such a loser Sad

foreverondiet · 10/04/2011 07:57

marie eat more protein. Being hungry is not necessary on this diet. Yoghurt and oatbran not enough for breakfast.

Also are babybel light really fat free? Am guessing that they are at least 10-15% fat. Ok to have one a day I would have thought as will be low in carbs. Ice cream different though as a fat free ice cream could be high in sugar.

MarieFromStMoritz · 10/04/2011 08:04

Thanks foreveronadiet. I'll have a ham and egg omelette for lunch. Then I might make some of these Oat Bran Cakes for afterwards:

www.mydukandiet.com/recipes/oat-bran-cookies.html

How are you doing?

cazza40 · 10/04/2011 08:36

Help I am in trouble too. Friends came over last night and the diet just went out the window ... Wine crisps chocolate you name it ! Should I so a few protein only days now to compensate ?

MarieFromStMoritz · 10/04/2011 08:57

Oh no cazza40. Yes, I would do a few protein-only days if I were you.

Finallygotaroundtoit · 10/04/2011 09:10

Me too cazza - but I even sabotaged myself in anticipation of struggling to LC when out by having 2 hot cross buns first!

I can't seem to stop my 'in for a penny in for a lb' thinking.

Perhaps on days when LC is difficult I should just aim for less than 2000 cals to limit the damage....

foreverondiet · 10/04/2011 10:28

2000 calories way to high! Thats the recommended amount for woman to maintain weight not to loose!

I stick to 1200 calories each day (unless its a pure protein day) maybe a little more ie 1400 if I exercise) - and yes now have reached goal weight happy to have some days with non dukan foods, even though follow dukan 80% of time.

Finallygotaroundtoit · 10/04/2011 11:11

Thats my aim Forever - just not to gain.

Cos I have this friggin all or nothing mentality, I'm either 'on' or spectactularly 'off' a diet - no middle ground with me!

foreverondiet · 10/04/2011 11:48

finally I don't think a 2000 calorie a day "diet" would work with alternating days of dukan, I think you'd just gain what you'd lost on the dukan days.

Sounds like you need to address food issues - otherwise little point in dieting or you'll just gain it afterwards - maybe something like Paul McKenna?

MarieFromStMoritz · 10/04/2011 12:25

So, what's for dinner Dukan Soldiers? I'm having...

Mustard Salmon

It's really nice, actually. I'm looking forward to it. What's everyone else having?

cazza40 · 10/04/2011 17:49

Sirloin steak and cottage cheese !

nikki1978 · 10/04/2011 19:11

I am 6lbs down after 5 days of attack :) PV day today and am having beef rogan for dinner which I adapted from this recipe and will have some brocolli with it. Yum yum!

nikki1978 · 10/04/2011 19:17

New thread here

skyeowl · 25/07/2011 19:49

Hi there! I followed the last thread and you all helped me to decide that it was definitely worth trying this diet! I had abit of a false start last week by day 2 I was headachey and really depressed feeling (I have a history of depression and was quite concerned) so I stopped, weighed myself and was totally shock to have lost 4lb!!! Then my period started!!! I'm irregular and didn't realise that I was premenstrual!! Anyway, started again this week while I'm off work thinking that at home the attack phase will be easier, and it is :)
I've just had a gallette with mullerlight and they're lovely! It's taken me over a week to be able to find some oatbran - everywhere was sold out thanks to the (dreaded) daily mail articles!
Looking forward to being a comfortable size 12 once more :o
Thank you ladies, you are very inspiring!
