Forever, do you think i should do more than 7 days?
Or just go with 7 and evaluate on day 6/7 as to continue with the attack phase a few more days.

I have about 100lbs to loose Confused

How much has everyone else lost?

foreverondiet · 04/03/2011 13:36

OTTMummA I was stuck on 9 stone 10lbs for 3 weeks and did 4.5 days of attack and went down to 9 stone 5.6lbs this morning. Will do at least a week of protein and vegetable days. If the weight "sticks" then will very slowly start added consolidation things. If the weight goes up a bit will do a couple of weeks of cruise.

I have lost 42lbs so 3 stone, but not all on dukan started with low fat (1200 calories a day) diet.

OTTMummA · 04/03/2011 13:56

Wow! 42lbs, thats really good.

Are you happy with the results?
My cruise phase is supposed to be about 290 days, and 400+ of consolidation.
I plan to do it all.
By the Dukan website, i should be my goal weight by christmas time this year!

divadoll · 04/03/2011 14:36

400 days consolidation???? OMG that sound daunting. I still have 5kg to go so am looking at another month cruising so far...making 5 days attack 48 days cruise (to date) up til Easter (my goal time) is 96 days total cruising. This will give me a weight loss of about 30lbs so that makes 160 days consolidation ShockThat sounds so much but only takes me to the end of September. When putting it in days it sounds sooooo long but over the period of a year, this seems definitely more do-able Grin

Are my figures correct??

studylove · 04/03/2011 14:39

Hi everyone Hope u all doing ok. I can't stop myself talking about Dukan's everywhere where I go starting from a middle of january I've lost amazing 10kg or more than a stone in less than two months ( and I'd slipped a bit in the end of february for three days!!!) Still need to loose another 10kg but I feel so much better I can fit in some of mine prebaby cloths and I do run easier and I used to think that running without carbs is a NO_NO but everything is much easier for me now..

foreverondiet · 04/03/2011 16:02

Yes, I know consolidation is for ages, but TBH I don't mind, would stay on consolidation diet forever if thats what it took. I have worked so hard to loose the weight and I really really don't want to put it on. As I put it on in pregnancy/breastfeeding I am less likely to put it back on (ie wasn't because of bad eating habits normally)... am doing triathlon in June and have signed up for 2 x 5km runs one in May and one in July so that will keep me focussed.

re: carbs and gym, well did a spin class & 2km run without carbs, and its was fine.

OTTMummA · 04/03/2011 16:55

400 days consolidation does seem long, but it has taken me the best part of a decade to get to the weight i am, so really, its not that long in the scheme ofmy weight battles.
And i know that once i finish all the steps including consolidation, then i won't have to start that road again, i will be stabalized.

Have got a bit of a head ache now, but have been drinking like a fish, i can take paracetomal can't i?

foreverondiet · 04/03/2011 17:02

Assume paracetamol would be fine, doesn't have any carbs! But no to calpol!

nenevomito · 04/03/2011 19:43

I'm going to be back on the wagon again tomorrow. I've not gone mad, but I had veg and couscous for dinner tonight. GRRRR. I am rather cross with myself.

Did anyone else find it hard to stick to at first or has everyone got better will power than me? :( I think the problem is that at the start of the week I had a fridge full of great stuff like greek yoghurt and chicken, but today the fridge was mostly bare.

Since I had carbs at my rents last night and carbs again tonight, would it be worth doing attack over the weekend to make up for it?

OTTMummA · 04/03/2011 21:54

Well, just completed first day, haven't drunk as much plain water as i planned, about 1.2 lts but have had tea and coffee aswell.

About 7ish i really was wanting a donught, DH bought some home, but i resisted.

I hope tomorrow goes as well as today.
Just keep telling myself, once this is done, i can eat normally again, never restrict myself like this apart from protien Thursdays.
Well worth it i hope.

OTTMummA · 05/03/2011 19:23

3lbs down today Smile!

Babyheave, maybe set yourself another date, and plan to avoid dinner out for a few of the first attack days?
It seems like a lot of people are not supporting you very well.
And do a meal planner, and get everything you need.

I had to get more meat today as i i think i underestimated what i could put away lol!

M&S do some 3 for £5 and 2 4 £6 on seafood.

studylove · 05/03/2011 22:57

I'm hitting that dreaded scales frozen state hope want be for long.
Babyheave it was not easy for me to start PP days I didn't believe I can do it but nearly two months later and more than a stone lighter I can say that it definitely get's easier with time Smile and even when I did have my pigging out days I couldn't eat as much as before the diet..And house full of men doesn't help ether 'cos they eat all carbs non stop but now when I bake banana loaf for them I just shovel couple of pieces of cajun salmon in a foil and leave it for 20 min in a oven- makes lovely lunch.

foreverondiet · 05/03/2011 23:49

Not a good day for me, it was DH's birthday, had friends in for lunch and then went out for dinner, did eat things I shouldn't have, will do a couple of PP days... hopefully will not have done too much damage.

OTTMummA · 06/03/2011 18:01

I had a tablespoon of gravy with my roast chicken today, but nothing else, it was so dry i couldn't eat it like that, i measured it out though,so i was just 1 table spoon of gravy.
Feel bad!
Any tips so i don't do that again??
Have been good rest of the day, lots of water, no diet drinks or coffee.
Do you think it will set me back a bit?

divadoll · 07/03/2011 07:47

Well I have realised that is probably the lack of water is my problem. I am going to consciously make an effort to drink far more water this week and see how it goes. I have been drinking far too much tea!

foreverondiet · 07/03/2011 10:06

OTTMummA I just add some water to the chicken and cover it with tin foil when I roast it. It was nice and moist (although I can't bear thought of gravy under any circumstances due to fat/carb/salt content depending on the sort).

In terms of the doughnut, I think what happens over time once you have worked so ghard to loose the weight is that you realise if you want to stay thin you can't have doughnuts other than special treat. I don't believe you could eat doughtnuts or chocolate or cake every day, and magically protein thursday and some oatbran keeps you thin. I do think though you could have a treat like that once a week and it wouldn't affect your weight.

Back to 9 7 this morning after a protein Sunday, am doing a few PP days in a row (although might have some veggies for dinner one night) as we are going away from Thursday - Tuesday and want to have P&V whilst away or it will be too difficult.

OTTMummA · 07/03/2011 21:28

5lbs more down, so 8lbs in total, thats since friday.

Forever, I will definately try the water in the pan for my chicken next time.

I noticed today i am not so hungry and am having to make myself eat Confused

But had a bit of a stress later and craved a McDonalds but didn't get one, wanted to see the scales go down some more lol.

foreverondiet · 07/03/2011 22:40

I meant roasting whole chicken in oven, always put some water at bottom...

Can also steam chicken breasts, keeps them nice and moist...

OTTMummA · 07/03/2011 22:49

Yeah, i know, a seperate pan at the bottom of the oven Grin
I do that for meatloaf, so i don't know why i didn't think of it before.
Just got the Dukan recipie book today, has a good range of stuff, will be trying some out this week, as im getting a bit bored with slices of plain meat etc.
Maybe try to make one of the sauces and desserts!

How long have you been doing Dukan forever?
What do you find are the hard aspects for you?
I must say i am dreaming about stuffed tomatoes now, really want a vegetable.

OTTMummA · 07/03/2011 22:49

foreverondiet · 08/03/2011 10:15

OTTMummA I have been doing dukan for about 6-8 weeks but I have taken time off in the middle - basically had a week of more normal (low fat and low GI) diet eating as missed fruit too much as got too constipated.

I have been doing low GI low fat 1200 calorie a day diet since October but reached plateau, find dukan very good at beating plateaus, I think because all the protein encouraged metabolism to speed up again as it takes more energy to digest?

I think when loosing weight over longer period (for me has been since October) good idea to change diet plans every so often so you don't get bored. Tried IPD Neris and India (ie low carb high fat) but didn't like it as couldn't bring myself to eat foods high in fat and really missed fat free dairy. Ideal diet for me is low fat low GI but as I said reached plateau on that and got frustrated!

I was 9 stone 7 this morning, happy with that esp as cracked last night and ate some fruit. Still better to reach for fruit - 2 apples & some prunes (because I was constipated) than to eat anything worse. And yes I am having psyllium husk each day and movicol as well.

Only 1-2lbs from target and bought "skinny jeans" yesterday!!!! In a size 10.

Divadoll I love the tesco fat free fromage frais - its yummy, cheap (and comes in 500ml tub) and low carb.

OTTMummA · 08/03/2011 13:21

Forever, i know this won't make sense to you, as you are not at the weight you want to be, but i would kill to be 9st 7! Smile

I have been stuggling to enjoy dry meat (ie, with no fat), so have been eating fish and prawns a lot, i might be ok once i can go onto the cruise phase and can have a juciy tomato every other day Grin

Keep telling myself ive only got until Thursday on PP, then Friday i can have some nice veggies, suprised how much im looking forward to it.

Another 2lbs down (10lbs total) this morning btw, so it is definately working, plus my appitite is small, had cup of dukan friendly tea, 2 scrambled eggs, and 2 chicken thighs so far, not really wantin anything else.

foreverondiet · 08/03/2011 13:38

OTTMummA it does make sense, in October was 12 stone 5 and would have killed to be 9 stone 7lbs!

But anyway had in my mind that diet would be until DS2's first birthday and still have 6 weeks so happy to continue. Plus have triathlon in June so want to be slim for that.

At start of diet was easy to stay motivated, lost 2lbs each week. Now lucky to loose 1lb per week, some weeks no loss.

OTTMummA · 08/03/2011 14:00

Are you training for the triathlon?
That will be such an achievement.
I would love to eventually play hockey or tennis again, but am way to heavy to do much more than walk at the moment.

Although i am looking forward to the cruise phase, i am apprehensive about the weight loss slowing or even stopping.

Will cross that bridge later i suppose.

nenevomito · 08/03/2011 14:07

Hi All - I'm still here. I'm feeling a bit disheartened tbh. I had some old bathroom scales and according to them I'd gone down from 14st 8 to 14st 2 in the last week, which was great considering that I'd had blips in the attack phase. I treated myself to some sparkly new electronic scales that told me I was 14st9, so basically my old ones were complete crap and is so disheartening to find out that I actually weigh more at the end of a week of dieting that I though I did when I started.
Yesterday's pure protein day was very easy as I was at work and had things prepared. Today I have had some home made veg soup for lunch - ahhh vegetables how I have missed you! and have some chicken in the fridge to snack on later. Lets just hope I can get going and by the end of the week, I shall really weigh 14st2 instead of what I do now!!
