Am struggling a bit now - the kids are munching snacks and I wish DH was home from work NOW! Planning the chicken curry for dinner - sounds tasty, but I know I will want rice or naan bread to mop it up. Sigh! There is an empty wine bottle in the kitchen and I have been sniffing it. How sad is that? And don't mention the fact that I know there is some toffee in the kitchen cupboard, I hear it screaming at me when I walk past...

I wonder how they work out the true weight - I've been given 10st 13lb, but I'm the same height as you and with 2 less children! And I'm not 100 years old (you get an extra pound per decade over 20 I think) - I thought my weight was 10st 8 but just worked out the conversion of 69.4kg and it's 10st 13.

I am on day 13 and stopped having junk food cravings around day 4/5 if that helps you at all. I made a chocolate cloud cake today for my sons and their friend and wasn't even tempted to have a sneaky lick of the mixing bowl! I've realised that it's important to eat regularly and to have 'legal' snacks in the fridge like deli meat (M&S do 3 for £5), hard boiled eggs, yogurts, etc. If you get a really bad craving brush your teeth because chocolate doesn't taste so nice when your mouth is really minty!

pirahamorgana · 31/03/2011 10:27

Well, today I weigh 13st 6 !!!! That must be water? I certainly don't feel or look any lighter!
I did ok last night, but was really busy.Had loads of fish for tea.Find it very difficult to be creative- or satisfied -without vegetables, and really miss greens.
Am motivated by the sudden drop on the scales, but find it hard to believe this will remain-especially if I lapse a tiny bit.

I have realised how often I put things into my mouth for no real reason, just in passing the kitchen, licking spoons, cleaning leftovers, bored, drinking tea etc. I couldn't believe how often I nearly blew it without even "deciding" to have anything not allowed!

Becaroooo · 31/03/2011 12:41

Hello.

Can I join?

I am starting this diet on monday (after I have gorged myself on my mothers day chocs on sunday!).

I was really pleasantly surprised when I checked out the website...my ideal weight is 9st 8lbs, which seems exactly right to me.

I am currently 11st 10 lbs - the heaviest I have been when not pg or just had a baby! Sad I am struggling health wise, my hair is falling out, my skin is dreadful and I need to do something about it.

I have some questions though....

I am allergic to cheese and yoghurt so they are out for me as a snack. Any other ideas how I can have the oat bran i.e. not in a gallette? Are oat bran flakes allowed???

Did any of you feel ill at all on the attack phase? (I need to do it for 4 days according to the website)

Am I right in thinking that the cruise phase is basically lean meat, poultry, fish, low fat dairy products, veg and salad????

I have 2 st 2 lbs to lose....gulp!

pirahamorgana · 31/03/2011 16:54

Hi Beca- good decision to wait til Monday,I'd forgotten about mothers day and will definitely not be breaking my resolve,so will have to stand firm (and hopefully not upset anyone)

I don't think oat bran flakes are allowed ,but how about mixing beaten eggs and red top milk?

I have felt light headed and a bit sick today, but not too bad.I am wondering how much is a reaction to a healthier diet, since I have been eating vast amounts of rubbish and huge piles of bread and butter all day for a year and a half now.Oh yes, and the lack of pure sugar must be hell for my body to adjust to (in a good way!).

I haven't looked ahead to the cruise phase yet, trying to focus on keeping to attack.
I am frankly dreading the thought of Saturday night with no wine and would love someone to tell me a few glasses won't hurt....

.......anyone..........

pirahamorgana · 31/03/2011 16:55

Oh dear,I'll break my diet for wine, but not for gifts from my dc.......go on,judge me...Sad

Housemum · 31/03/2011 18:20

I'm going to have to restart mine on Monday I think - I knew we were going to a friends house on Saturday evening, but as I only had a 3 day attack I figured I could be reasonably safe by eating meat and veg with no sauce or potatoes. However I'd forgotten we are going to a quiz night tonight with fish and chips laid on - there is no way I'd refuse that (particularly when I've paid for it!)

I think I will have lost 2lbs but by the time I weigh myself to check in tonight will probably have put it on again! I'm 11st 10 at the moment

Becaroooo · 31/03/2011 18:34

housemum same as me!

I am definately starting on monday....I am so sick of feeling so horrid. My dh is lovely and tells me off when I call myself fat - but I am not doing this for him, I am doing it for me.

We have a swanky holiday booked but its not for another 11 weeks so I am thinking if I persevere a few bits of pasta and a couple of deserts shouldnt hurt too much????

nikki1978 · 05/04/2011 09:22

Hello all. I did one day of this diet last year but was not in the right frame of mind and have hopped between various diets since. Have put on yet another stone in the last year and now have just under 4 stone to lose. So am starting this properly today. Have had a salmon fillet for breakfast. Will be having some chicken with half a galette for lunch and steak with the other half for dinner.

According to Dukan I should hit my target in September. Can't wait. Am very determined now!

piranhamorgana · 05/04/2011 10:39

Hi all !

I did lapse on Mothers day ! I had one or two glasses of fizz Wink
The online programme told me to start the attack phase from the beginning and do another 7 days !!!!!!!
So,here goes....
Despite that,I have lost 9 lbs, although I don't think it is fat ,as clothes not that much looser .Still,I will plod on.Very boring having no fruit or vegetables, but have stopped craving sweets or bread. And - aside from wine - am not tempted to cheat as I really want to hit my target and wear all my "thin " clothes again!

seedlessgrape · 05/04/2011 10:49

Hi. Mind if I join you all?

Started today and intend to do the attack phase up to (and including) Friday. My downfall is weekends. I am fine Monday to Friday and can stick to any diet/plan with no problems but it seems that as soon as I leave work on a Friday my brain goes into meltdown and I crave wine and all manner of high calorie/high carb junk.

I have about a stone and a half to lose which doesn't sound that much but it's proving really difficult - middle age spread? Half a stone has been gained since New Year's Eve when I gave up smoking but I've got to look on that as a positive thing I suppose....

Anyway, good luck to you all.

foreverondiet · 05/04/2011 19:46

Hi all newbies - I am still here, have been away for a week. Stuck to the diet mostly, but did eat out several times including big celebration meal, and put on one pound.... which I am happy about.

piranhamorgana · 06/04/2011 09:30

A whole week in! I have lost 9lbs and am wearing a pair of jeans that ,although from my "fat" wardrobe, have not fit since before dd5.....who will be a year old on Friday!

So far,I recommend this plan, although it is boring. But I don't crave junk ,or bread and butter at the moment,so that makes it easier to stick with meat, fish, eggs and low fat dairy.
Due to the alcohol lapse at the weekend,I will stay on Attack for another two days before moving onto cruise and vegetables - can't wait for some broccoli!

Really believe I will be back into thin clothes by summer, and that image is stopping me from lapsing.

seedlessgrape · 06/04/2011 10:28

Well done to you both!

Although I have always said that it's dangerous to weigh yourself every day I ignored that advice and stepped on the scales this morning! 4lbs off in one day whoop whoop :-) I know it's probably all water but I hope the hour's hard work at Zumba last night helped in some little way....

nikki1978 · 06/04/2011 12:25

Well I am on my second day and bored of eating already :) But I am not hungry which is good. Just looking forward to next week when I can bring some variety back. Will try not to weigh myself until next week. I really hope it will be a good loss to help spur me on!

Is it only two eggs per day allowed?

cazza40 · 06/04/2011 12:58

Hi can I join too. I am on day 2 of attack phase feeling ok but looking forward to some vegetables. Yes think it's 2 egg limit a day unless you have cholesterol problems then think you are only allowed the whites

foreverondiet · 06/04/2011 13:00

nikki I think issue with eggs is the fat content of the yolk. Could eat more egg whites.

It is a boring diet though - one of the reasons its so effective is that you just eat less!

seedlessgrape · 06/04/2011 14:23

Ooops I didn't know there was a limit on eggs Confused ... I had four yesterday.

cazza40 · 06/04/2011 14:35

On day 2 and no weight lost should this have happened ? Also my period started (earlier than normal ) today and wondered if this may affect things ?

foreverondiet · 06/04/2011 15:03

cazza period can affect weight loss... don't worry that no movement.

seedlessgrape · 06/04/2011 15:42

cazza make sure you're drinking the required 1.5 litres of water - it really does help

seedlessgrape · 06/04/2011 15:43

forever - how much have you lost in total? I read back through some earlier posts and notice you've been doing it for a few months. How have you found it?

foreverondiet · 06/04/2011 17:47

seedlessgrape

I have lost 44lbs in total but not all of that doing dukan. I started diet in October and started Dukan in January, as I had reached a plateau....

I have reached my true weight, in fact am now 3lbs below. I don't like protein days, so after attack I have done very few protein days, always say I'd do some if the weight loss stops (ie don't loose 1-2lbs a week) but I seem to loose even on P&V days.

nikki1978 · 06/04/2011 18:39

Ah well I am eating 3 a day if you include the one in the galette. Will try and cut down :) Is tofu allowed on attack? And soy sauce?

seedlessgrape · 07/04/2011 10:48

Well done forever - you must be feeling brilliant and especially now that the sun has come out. I find that it's so easy to hide a multitude of sins under dark baggy winter clothes but warm weather is not so kind...!

nikki I don't think tofu is allowed (perhaps someone else could confirm) but you're ok with soy sauce.
