Hi

I rather envy you Lottie actually, continental cafes, nearby mountains!

Anyway this evening we wil be going out for a wedding anniversary meal so I plan to eat and drink whatever I like the look of.

In fact, having had a fairly strict Dukan week and still not got below plateau weight, I think I might give up on the last half stone for now and move on to consolidation. And tonight can be my celebration meal!

zaazaa · 02/10/2010 11:10

Hi kdk, I am also stretching mine out until Sunday and giving it the full ten days before I move to cruise phase. Have you done diets before?

I know it is a bit disappointing that the scales haven't gone 'whooosh' but I am consoling myself that at least the scales are moving in the right direction, I am less bloated and feel much more mentally alert now. Perhaps, perversely things might speed up for us when we go onto the cruise phase? Hope so Wink

Hang in there kdk, I am determined to get this weight off and just think my body is resisting right now.

I have stopped buying pre packed ham because of the salt content and now get turkey breast instead and I also try to have my most substantial meal earlier in the day and eat a bit lighter at night.

The psyllium husks have helped with 'that problem' and I also bought milk thistle tablets after reading the thread about 'fatty liver' in which the liver stops metabolising fat properly if you have been overweight for some time as it stores the fat instead of burning it. I am not saying milk thistle is a miracle cure but it helps the poor old liver sort itself out.

Have also started taking omega 3 capsules. I know they are fat but it is in such a tiny quantity that it won't do any harm and as everything else I am eating is lower than 4% fat or even 0% fat, I figure the health benefits outweigh the fat content. Supposedly it helps to lose weight too especially abdominal fat (which I have a lot of Blush)

Things are moving but very slowly right now but I am absolutely determined to lick myself into shape (or better shape) by Christmas. I am walking on the attack phase but think I might start something a bit more strenuous on the cruise phase.

I am stuck at home doing revision for exams this weekend Confused

kdk · 02/10/2010 16:15

Hi all

Sadly nothing planned this weekend. Am without a job at the moment so short of money (also short of a partner but that's another story!)
Was planning to see a friend and her daughter this afternoon but she's not feeling well so cancelled ... hey ho, just have to play draughts or cards yet again!

Might start omega 3 - and doing more exercise as scales still not moved. I've only got maximum another 16lb to lose so not sure if maybe that's why it's going so slowly. Will do one more day of attack and start cruise on monday as need some veg!

Good luck to everyone and enjoy the rest of the weekend and hope the scales are down on Monday!

Hi girls,

Lottie, you made me laugh as a Swiss friend of mine who lived for a while in the old quarter in Berne and got fined for not having fake red geranium plants on her windowsills! ConfusedShe used to say the uniformity and conformity drove her crazy!

Anyway, I have a question, these Onken fat free vanilla yoghurts...are they good or bad? Should I stop eating them?

kdk · 03/10/2010 10:50

Well I lost another 3/8 of a lb - so not sure what's causing me not to lose more. Have cut down the yoghurts to 3 a day - can't do less or wouldn't be having breakfast, drinking water so much that I need to pee non-stop and am off to swim in a minute as it's pissing down and can't face walking in the rain.

Am starting cruise tomorrow - may even have to start today as have promised to take the kids out for salt beef and may need a gherkin/salad to wash it down (will give the kids the potato pancakes Sad)

It would have been fine if you had shovelled a couple of tablespoons of bran into your Baileys though...

kdk · 03/10/2010 19:58

well I ended up eating a quarter of a potato pancake despite my best intentions - back on track this evening though with a (lean) ham omelette.

saltcod · 03/10/2010 22:13

Another one who has fallen off the wagon - a Mcdonalds quarter pounder with cheese meal, no less! Agh! Glad I'm not the only one though Wink

Londonlottie, it was me that was doing the shred. No no no.... not was doing... AM doing...the shred... Need to move up to level 2 & can't quite face it yet. Maybe tomorrow...

Well done on reaching your 1st target Londonlottie :)

Katisha · 04/10/2010 10:27

Yes well done Lottie!

kdk · 04/10/2010 10:50

Congrats Lottie!

I meanwhile appear to have put on a lb - which seems a huge gain for such a small amount of food!!!

Oh well, back to the start - ATTACK!

PandaBear · 04/10/2010 11:18

Congratulations Lottie. I had a fairly active weekend and although I did have a glass of wine (or three) I was really good food wise. But...... it is torture serving Roast Dinner to the family and not putting Roast potaoes on my plate - the looked soooooo good Sad

Katisha · 04/10/2010 11:39

zaazaaa will you come and talk to me about that cottage cheese recipe?
Just tried it and two pints of milk hardly made any cheese at all - is that normal?

Really well done Lottie - once you have lost that 1lb, how much further have you got to go?

I seem to have put on 1lb over the weekend - don't think it is food related, I have been very slack at drinking water and now constantly slurping at my desk to try and make up for it - If I have to go to the loo any more frequently, I may move my computer in there Grin

katisha, it is quite normal to lose quite a lot of the fluid. how was the consistency? If you don't want to go to the bother then re-reading a thread on what Dukan himself says on a chat page from his forum, as long as it is below 4-5% fat it is fine and as most cottage sheese is 1.5 - 2% fat, shop bought should be fine. I was down 1/4 of a pound today Wink after eating cauliflower, broccoli, spinach with chicken and chillies and garlic yoghurt. It tasted sooo good after 9 days of pure protein and I didn;t immediately gain water weight so pretty pleased with that.
