May I join you all?

I am finishing my 2 days of the attack phase today so will weigh in tomorrow morning.

I am waiting for my book to arrive so have read up and understand from tomorrow I can alternate between all protein and protein plus veg days. I have a list of the veg.

I need ideas for breakfast as I dont think I can stomach another egg!

Also lunches if you don't mind.

Dinner is OK as it seems more obvious. Salmon or chicken.

Good luck to everyone!

Hi FS - breakfast is always the same for me..... Oat Bran porridge (which is actually very tasty!). Lunch - well I eat a lot of Cottage Cheese, with various cold meats. Have also had boiled eggs, and omlettes. Would be easier if I liked fish. You could have tuna with balsamic vinegar to make it more palettable or cold salmon or steamed fish of any type. Good luck - if you persist, it seems to really work.

Lottie my week for staying at the same was last week - and to be honest, by the weekend I felt I deserved a glass of wine or 3 - so I did! Down 3lbs this week, so it can't hurt to have some nights where you indulge (and as long as you are aware that you've got the munchies only because you've been drinking and don't succumb to them you'll be fine). Still got to enjoy life, right?

Hi all. Hi FS.
I like the oat bran porridge too made with skimmed milk and topped with half a raspberry yogurt.
Really pleased as have been drinking a little wine and eating fruit desserts (with a tiny scoop of ice cream Blush ) because of visitors, and only gained half a pound. I know it's the wrong direction but I had feared a much worse result!!
I'll have a very strict day today to try to correct damage....
Well done to all Dukan soldiers!!

Coca · 08/10/2010 09:52

No weight off again today. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm finding Onken fat free yoghurt is my saviour, with sweetner and vanilla essence. I'm drinking loads and only having things off the list. I'm not eating much in the way of calories...maybe I'm not eating enough?

kittya · 08/10/2010 09:56

Im afraid I cant do it anymore. Ive recently discovered I have a stomach ulcer and it started bleeding after I was a week into it and doing well. Its only now that Im wondering if there was a connection, maybe drinking coffee on an emptyish stomach? I cant risk it again.

Blooming shame though, I was enjoying it.

CrapSuzette · 08/10/2010 11:32

Hello - just wondering if anyone else has been on the diet for a month or so, fallen off the wagon for a week and then gone back to it? Was doing really well - lost 8lbs in 4 weeks (possibly more; was harbouring a lot of water retention when I first started). Then went away for a very indulgent weekend, my DCs got ill with a horrible cold and I've been eating carbs just to stay awake (am very, very sleep deprived). Can't bring myself to weigh myself, but was wondering if a week off the straight and narrow has had dire consequences for anyone? DCs getting better, and hoping to be back on track this weekend.

Katisha · 08/10/2010 11:39

Suzette I think you'll be fine. Get back on the wagon girl!

Kittya - what a shame - sorry to hear about the ulcer. I'd be very surprised if it was diet related though. If drinking coffee on an empty stomach gave you ulcers I would have no stomach lining left by now...

insertexpletive · 08/10/2010 11:43

Kittya sorry that you have been so poorly - do you have a history of stomach ulcers?

I would be really interested to hear if your GP thinks it could be diet related - I was convincing myself that this is a healthier diet than Atkins and some other 'faddy' ones.

Really hope that things improve soon - are you on meds, or do you need an op?

CrapSuzette I have not jumped off the wagon for a week, but have on individual days and I think you just need to drag yourself back on and hold on tight Grin
You should probably weigh yourself again though but don't give yourself a hard time whatever the numbers say - life just sometimes gets in the way and we have to do what it takes to survive.

kittya, sorry you have been illand hope you feel better soon.

saltcod thanks you for the encouragement. I am telling myself at least it is going dooooown!

crapsuzette two days ago I picked up the Onken natural yoghurt thinking it was the fat free one but it wasn't Blush but i wasn't going to waste it so I ate the pot in cooking and as is and it qwas scrummy. It didn't impact my weight loss very much so i think if you are good for 90% of the time, you can splurge occasionally without it wrecking the diet but I think it is best not to as the temptation is too great.

I have found turkey rashers to be quite good in the morning wrapped in the galette but made thinly like a crepe or if I really can't stomach that stuff, I have a protein shake, the Body Fortress one from Superdrug as it is low carb and very often on half price offer at £12.99 - much cheaper than others.

My latest discovery is Muller light fat free vanilla but with the dark chocolate speckles int hem - delish! And, looking at the carton, only a tiny bit higher in sugar/carb than the normal fat free vanilla.

kittya · 08/10/2010 18:16

Im on meds and will need to have the camera down very soon.

The first thing he asked me was about my diet. Drinking coffee on an empty stomach is not good, thats the first thing he said. Dont forget guys, I probably had a stomach ulcer anyway due to me taking painkillers like nurofen for an ongoing problem I have. Painkillers can be very bad for you like Nurofen, asprin, volteral if you take them on a regular basis.

I will have a deeper discussion with him when I next go back. If any of you experience heartburn I would be very careful.

I did lose weight and its a real shame!!

Coca · 08/10/2010 20:40

Pants pants pants, having wine. Sad

Feelingsensitive · 09/10/2010 08:40

Thanks for you tips about breakfast. I am on day 2 of cruise. Lost 2lbs after 2 days of Attack. I had smoked slamon followed by a yogurt for breakfast. Lovely. I have to admit I fell off the wagon last night. Ate some cake and some other Blush bits and pieces. Was wonderingif I shoudl do 2 more days of attack to get back on track? What do you think?

Going out for a Thai meal tonight with friends for DHs birthday. I am going to have two glasses of wine with meal but be good rest of day. Need to go and find oat bran today as they didnt have any in Tesco yesterday and I definately need to 'go'. Sorry to hear about your ulcer Kittya. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Coca - I will be having wine later too so don't worry! I read somewhere earlier in the thread that someone drinks loads of water if they go off plan which seems to help address the fluid retention. I always get that when I drink alcohol so will try that tomorrow.

Coca · 09/10/2010 09:18

I'll try that FS, trouble with having wine is that it makes the odd chip or popadom (sp?) look harmless!

ihatethecold · 09/10/2010 09:37

hey fellow dukaneers.. ive been on this diet for 19 days now and in the first week lost 5lbs, i havent lost anything since,
but i feel slimmer. i donrt know what else i can do to help with the weight loss, i drink plenty. and doing PP then PV days. i have eaten the odd celebration chocolate.
but ive had no carbs and only 1 glass of wine. i only have 2 yogs a day, fat free, sugar free ones.. am o going wrong somewhere???

Coca · 09/10/2010 10:07

Ihatethecold are you doing the walkingdR D reccomends? I have to admit that I haven't managed to fit it in as I've been mentally busy the last few days. I think that might be the reason why I haven't lost anything in the last few days. I know what you mean about feeling slimmer though, my face definately looks less puffy and my hands are obviously affected by the water I'm drinking. On the plus side just weighed myself after my slip up last night and I lost a lb! I'm going to stick at it purely for how much better I'm feeling without the carbs.

ihatethecold · 09/10/2010 10:15

well if im honest, i havent done 30 mins each day, by the time i get home from work its tea time. im then doing 2 kids homework with them. then me and DH dinner, then its dark,
im doing so many hours at work (im working today until 6pm) i dont know how to fit it in.
i did do my 30 day shred dvd last monday, then really couldnt walk properly for 3 days, it was tragicShock
i know i need to up it but i dont know how to fit it in at the mo.

Coca · 09/10/2010 10:31

Ha! I tried his weird bed exercises and my stomache felt like I'd been kicked for days Grin at least it confirmed that there are muscles there under all the insulation!

Morning. Well the thai meal went a little too well last night. Went completely off plan. I am determined not to give up though so will re-do the attack phase and start with a clean slate (minus the nibble of penut butter on toast I ate this morning). My book arrived yesterday so I will have my nose in that between stopping my DCs from killing each other over the Little People Post office Hmm

PrudencePie · 10/10/2010 18:18

aaaarrrrrrrrrrrgh - got stuck at 13 stones for 11 days (after shifting over 17lbs in 3 weeks) and have been an angel on this diet - but am still sticking with it - today I dropped to 12st 13lbs at last! Has anyone tried Ben & Jerry's choc brownie froyo (frozen yoghurt!) had one last night (2.5g fat content per 100g) then dropped the 1lb... hilarious.

PandaBear · 11/10/2010 08:19

Morning - bad weekend diet wise Sad. Back to attack to make up for it today.
