I WILL lose a stone by Christmas - who is joining me?

I've been putting off losing weight for too long - I've kept saying "Yes I'll have another chocolate/bag of crisps/Magnum Grin, and I'll start the diet tomorrow/Monday/next month"

But this time I'm going to do it. I've got zero willpower so I am counting on the wonderful world of Mumsnet for support!

Now for the facts:

I'm 5'8" and this morning I weighed in at 14st 5lb Shock!

Aged 17, I weighed 9st 3lb Sad. Now I'm not saying I want to go back to that, but I would be very happy with 11st 7lb, taking me into a healthy weight range, and 10st 10lb as my goal weight.

But for the time being, I just want to get out of the obese category Sad Blush.

ALL TIPS AND ADVICE WELCOME!

my regular saturday weigh-in, and another pound gone this week, so for the first time in about oh, 3 years, i can say i am 10 stone something!! ok, its 10 stone 13, but i've cracked that barrier at last! [hgrin]

Tobermory · 02/11/2010 09:52

Well done toomuch, great news Grin
Reaching milestones is such a great booster to keep you on the wagon.

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 02/11/2010 22:04

um kind of fell off today! went to a meeting for work and we were treated to a free carvery lunch, omg it was good. tons of meat and roast potatoes and gravy and cranberry sauce yummity yum.

will have to work extra hard at zumba this week!

Tobermory · 02/11/2010 22:07

I have the evening nibbles, not actually eating anything but your description is making my mouth water.
Think I should go to bed, then I will forget about being hungry!

woahthere · 03/11/2010 19:41

I weighed myself this morning and was 12 stone 3, so that means I have 11 to go. Im quite pleased with myself actually because I do lose weight really slowly, but it is certainly headed in the right direction!

shatteredmumsrus · 04/11/2010 20:14

I need to lose 1 stone too. Just set up a thread re slimming pills but saw this. My downfall is... FOOD, anyway it comes!

Ghostie · 04/11/2010 20:32

Oooh me too started my diet on Monday. I've just been gradually eating myself into oblivion since having DD and I've got a stone and a half to loose for trip to Oz at easter and our wedding in the summer. My plan was to break the back of it and loose a stone by Xmas, so support and motivation will be fab! Good luck to all!

Tobermory · 04/11/2010 20:58

Hi shattered and Ghostie.

Sounds like you have an expensive year planned!

I'm going to stand on the scales in the morning and cross my fingers. Haves spent much of the last 2 days stripping wallpaper which really got me glowing. Took DD1 out for tea tonight and pinched just one chip, pretty pleased with my restraint!

Tobermory · 05/11/2010 11:06

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Have lost a stone! I am 14.3 pounds lighter than I was a month ago. Am feeling v v v pleased with myself this morning, and Quite thin, despite having a couple more to come off. DH is going to treat me to a skirt, the first clothes purchase since DD2 was born, it'll be nice to have something new. It's really spurred me on and going to lose another half stone, at least, by Xmas.

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 05/11/2010 20:51

huge congrats Tobermory, that is really really well done! its an ace feeling isn't it!! glad your dh is being supportive too.

i am kinda dreading my weighin tomorrow, i didn't make zumba last night cos dh was ill and i had to deal with ds bedtime. And we took the car to nursery this morning cos we were late (and it was pissing it down). so don't think things will have changed much from last week, but as long as i haven't put ON!!

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 05/11/2010 20:52

by the way, anybody heard from thistimeiwilldoit, our wonderful OP who got all this started? last time was 21 oct i think, where are you TTIWDI?

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 05/11/2010 20:53

oh and welcome shattered and ghostie!

A1980 · 07/11/2010 00:08

I haven't posted since 10 October.

I started out at 10st 10lbs.

Now down to 10st 6lbs.

Not bad for 3-4 weeks of exercising, etc.

crazystace · 07/11/2010 11:17

I'm doing great on celebrity slim. lost 5lbs so far and reckon i can keep going. After a few days didn't even feel like a diet, just a new way of eating and i haven't had any side effects. In fact, i've got more energy and feel much better generally. Hoping to shift another 5lbs before Christmas!

as i thought, weigh in was stable at 10 stone 13 yesterday. plan to swim, zumba and walk lots this week to try to move it downwards again!

welcome to bexxaa, please join us! ps my friend's mum went on an all-inclusive cruise for her 2nd honeymoon and put on 16 pounds in 13 days!! she had to buy a new dress nexg size up for the last night fancy dinner!! that was heroic eating (and cocktails) Grin

Tobermory · 08/11/2010 07:55

Wow 16lbs in 13 days, thAts some going!

Had a good w/e here, 15.5 lbs this morning. Planning on a week of Wii fit and maybe taking DD2 swimming, though that's only a quick dunk in the pool so don't think it really counts!!

Hello Bexxaa

Ghostie · 11/11/2010 20:46

Been putting off my weigh in or keep forgetting. DD is 4 months and diecided to give up sleeping so totally shattered and it is really tempting to just tuck into a huge piece of cake to make me feel better! Today I resisted diet 1 - cake 0! Need motivation!

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 11/11/2010 22:38

oh why can't i stop eating this week?

and i've pulled a muscle in my back, feel like shit, can walk but definitely can't dance/zumba/jump around with ds much.

must be TOTM coming up, i have this huge hollow feeling and no matter what i eat, still feel really hungry. and want to kill dh for just, well, breathing funny is enough...

Tobermory · 12/11/2010 18:24

Ghostie, my motivator is weighing myself every morning. I like to see the numbers inching down or staying still. Not sure if daily weighing is advisable but it's working for me!

sparklybec · 14/11/2010 21:29

I'll join you ladies. My eating and lack of exercise has finally pushed me into the 'overweight' BMI category :(

My plan, eating less and moving more! If only it were that simple Hmm Zumba tomorrow night!

Tobermory · 16/11/2010 21:36
