I WILL lose a stone by Christmas - who is joining me?

I've been putting off losing weight for too long - I've kept saying "Yes I'll have another chocolate/bag of crisps/Magnum Grin, and I'll start the diet tomorrow/Monday/next month"

But this time I'm going to do it. I've got zero willpower so I am counting on the wonderful world of Mumsnet for support!

Now for the facts:

I'm 5'8" and this morning I weighed in at 14st 5lb Shock!

Aged 17, I weighed 9st 3lb Sad. Now I'm not saying I want to go back to that, but I would be very happy with 11st 7lb, taking me into a healthy weight range, and 10st 10lb as my goal weight.

But for the time being, I just want to get out of the obese category Sad Blush.

ALL TIPS AND ADVICE WELCOME!

My weekend was ok. I didn't do good food wise, gave into chocolate :(

But I did go to a body pump class and a zumba class.

Just did Day 2 of Shred Grin bit achy but nothing awful!

Today am planning ryvita lunch and Mackerel Souffle with green beans for dinner. Fruit snacks.

Morning :)

The airfield was closed this morning Hmm so only did 2/3 of my usual walk.

So far have had a pancake for breakfast, will have prawn sandwich for lunch (or perhaps a v.small jkt spud with prawns) and then toad in the hole, new potatoes peas and greens for tea.

I joined the Easter one and failed miserablySad, but I have had a sort sharp shock and think I can do it this time!

I have a wedding to go to at the start of November and what I thought could be my energency dress is too tightSad and I remember I wasn't happy about my weight when it did fit me so I am really going to try this time.

Have the cold at the minute which is not helping
I am the wrong side of 12 stone and 5'4" and realistically if I got to 10 stone again I would be over the moon

Hello ladies,

may i join in for extra support and fun? I am 5,8 and just the wrong side of 40 years young.

I was 12 stone 3 at the start of July when i decided to get healthy. I followed (roughly) the Shape plan from Top Sante magazine and got down to 11 stone 1 by mid Sept. Was feeling really good but then "rewarded" myself with the odd treat or two ... and suddenly its mid Oct and i am 11 stone 2 - am starting to go the wrong way again!

So i need to get motivated, be stricter with myself and keep going. I'd like to be 10 stone 6/7/8, pre_ds weight.

I have joined zumba and its ace!

A1980 and toomuchmonth - is zumba good? I've not started yet but really looking forward to it.

I got some hand weights today so no excuses for not doing the Shred now - wish me luck! She is very motivational that Jillian isn't she?

Hi Beachy!

Just did day 1 of the Shred.....exhausted! I found it quite tough, but not impossible. I take it it gets a bit easier as you go along? I am very unfit though!

You are very organised planning your lunch and dinner! I am having smoked haddock for dinner, but not sure what with. Lunch will probably be soup and a wholegrain bagel and maybe a bit of salad.

DS woke up at 5.20am and wouldn't go back to sleep so I think I'll be flagging later.

Well I had 3 pancakes on my plate this morning but dd's 3&4 helped me so only got one, I suppose they are helpful really!

Going to my parents house today t see my grandparents, will all go for a walk with the dogs so haven't had my usual circuit this morning, just the 1mile to and from school.

Must remember to look on eBay for some cheap fitness DVDs!

thistime I think day 2 is prob the hardest cos you will probably ache tomorrow, but yes, day 5 on was fine...although i only got to day 10 last time so i've not tried Level 2 yet Confused am determined to do the full 30 days this time! I have set up a motivation/reward structure Grin

At 10st10 I will get to go to the salon for a wax (fed up with veet!)

At 10st 7 I will get a hair cut and colour (soon as poss please - horrid roots!)

At 10st 3 I will get winter boots I need (black biker style)

At 9st 13 I will get 2 pairs of new jeans (skinny!!!)

4 - look for Jillian's 30 day shred - it is good - I am actually feeling great after only one session!

I had the Davina, Cindy Crawford, Geri yoga DVDs, etc etc, but I like Jillian Michaels because she is tough - you're not allowed to take a break, but on the upside, the session is finished really quickly so I don't really mind. You don't get bored either I find.

yes my zumba class was ace, lots of latino Shakira type music and moves, shaking your wobbly bits everywhere! felt i'd really done some exercise, very out of puff, but no aches the next day.

unfortunately i cant go for a couple of weeks due to my work but i hope to get back to it soon.

my day has not been too bad but have just finished ds' toast before our tea! oops!

Morning all!

Plan for today - 3 x ryvita + topping for lunch, dinner will be HM chicken chow mein.

Going to do day 4 of the shred but will have to be this evening and usually I exercise in the morning so I hope i'm not too tired! Are you achy this morning thistime?

Achievement of the day yesterday - not finishing the kids leftover pasta! I thought about it and then quickly chucked it in the bin so I wouldn't cave!!

ls there a weigh in on this thread? I'm going to weigh tomorrow morn and see how i'm getting on..

I've been to be weighed at weigh watchers and I've lost 1.5 lbs this week so I'm really pleased Grin I've lost 6.5lb in 3 weeks so I'm ecstatic and im now in the 15stone bracket rather than 16 stone.

There are Zumba classes starting locally but I'm gutted as it clashes with my rainbow and brownie groups, I really want to try it!

Hi all

Well I am aching a bit, but I have been worse! I quite like the achey feeling as it makes you feel you have done something! Had a toddler class this morning so didn't have time to do the Shred, but will probably do it this afternoon or this evening before dinner.

I am feeling really premenstrual and tired so I caved and bought a chocolate bar.....but I haven't eaten it yet.

I did have an Innocent veg pot for lunch though, so I'm hoping that will cancel it out Hmm Grin.

JustBeachy - I weigh in on here on a Monday, though if I still haven't lost any by this week I might just disappear!!!

4 - you must be sooo happy! You are doing really really well. I think you can get a Zumba DVD? Not sure though.

im 5'2 and weigh 12st 10 Shock
i like many others start new diet on mondays and never carry them through Sad
i have tried s/w, alli tablets, w/w, and calorie counting... i feel s/w works best for me...
i also joined a gym last week which costs £30 per month and its a 12month contract, so will have to go ...
im not feeling too well atm and i am at the doctors tomorrow, i think i have a cyst on my ovaries, which is making me depressed thinking the worst and in turn thats making me comfort eat Sad

I have been really good the last couple of day no snacks at all, and really cut portion sizes

Still fell crap with cold so I am going to play just dance with dd1 instead of exercise DVD and myabe see how long I can go on bike

Hi all

Good day today, small portion for dinner (well small for me anyway!) and snacks were 2 humbugs and 2 toffees at the course i was on and a handful of raspberries.

Did day 4 of the shred tonight - def getting easier, I even enjoyed it!

Tomorrow I will do Day 5 and am planning ryvita lunch and grilled fish and salad dinner (with wine Grin - well it is Friday!)

Have had a great week all in all - hope I have a loss to report tomorrow morning

Well done Beachy!!! 3lb is fab!

I am gutted as I didn't do the shred yesterday as I was feeling horrendous - though on the upside I had no dinner as I was feeling really sick. I'm still feeling pretty rough today so I am just going to try and drink plenty and hopefully I will be ok by tomorrow.

thistimeiwilldoit It is hard to get motivated when you don't feel well, I have been like that all week but manged a little of something everyother night and haven't had any snacks,
BUT today I have been baking for a cake sale tomorrow so have tried 1 of the smallest buns,
but I did do just Dance and 30 mins of Hannah Waterman DVD so I'm hoping that will make up for it
