Eat less, do more. Diets aren't rocket science.

(Its the willpower that's the problem..

sweetbean · 24/08/2005 11:08

Right there wiht you ladies again....! Is anyone up for starting tomorrow? I'm a 'srtike while the iron's hot' kinda girl!

Perhaps we could all weigh in at say 12 noon and then weigh the same day each week? What do you think?

puff - whats the GI diet?

sunnyside · 25/08/2005 18:36

Fine with me, the first it is!

Roobie · 25/08/2005 18:40

If you need some help in eating less then Weightwatchers "Full Choice" might be worth a try.

elastamum · 25/08/2005 19:12

Cods link is a good one, my DH and I have lost about a stone each by following our own made up version of the OZ diet. Lots of veg, lean protein every meal and no bread potatoes or cakes!

We do still do the odd bottle of wine but not weekdays and if we go out we eat what we like. We dont feel like we are dieting at all and the weight is slowly falling off

sweetbean · 27/08/2005 10:16

Hi everyone

I'm going to make the most of my last alchol filled weekend before the serious health kick starts hows everone feeling about 1st still up for it

Rowlers · 27/08/2005 10:59

The only thing I have ever found works is to give up alcohol or at least cut down and to be more active.
I hate the gym so for me this means walking instead of using the car and going for bike rides.
I've never really been able to change eating habits. Got a sweet toooth and find it a real drag to go without, so I tend just to cut down and not eat puddings.
Eat slightly smaller portions too!
Having said all that, I lose weight VERY slowly.

sanchpanch · 27/08/2005 11:10

my dp left me 2 months ago, and i have lost 2.5 stone!!!! have 3 more to go, i have been eating healthy and respecting my body more, have had lots of salad, and i eat it on a small plate so it looks like more,
and obviously the stress has helped the weight fall off, every cloud has a silver lining!!!!

sweetbean · 27/08/2005 11:18

sanchpanch

sorry to hear that i hope you'r ok join us in are healthy eating thingy if you want we are all staring on the 1st. you have a 2.5 st head start but we will let you of xxx

sanchpanch · 27/08/2005 11:28

yeah ok, i guess i do cheat a bit though as i have a slimfast for breakfast, during the times when i couldnt eat anything at all because i couldnt swallow it, my friend suggested i try slimfast as at least i would be getting some vitamins, and i have continued having it for breakie, lunch i have makeral or tuna or chicken with salad and chilli ketchup!!! then tea time i normally have small amount of what girls are having, then in evening ill have a pack of seasons,(crispbread things)

I feel so much better for losing the weight and i know i will get to my goal of 12 stone, cant wait for the satisfaction of saying to my ex look at me now... he has already comented on the weight i have lost!!!!

sunnyside · 27/08/2005 20:32

Sanchpanch - you wait til everyone else starts noticing, that's when DPs/ ex DPs really pay attention cos everyone else is! It'll do your ego the power of good and give him more than a little food for thought! Go girl!

sanchpanch · 28/08/2005 09:29

KateF · 28/08/2005 19:08

Hello ladies. I'm new to posting on mumsnet (though have lurked for a while!) and would love to join you. Have been trying to lose weight since having dd3 last year but only started seriously in June. Doing weightwatchers online and have lost 16lbs but I feel the motivation running low and think joining you would be a big help.

sweetbean · 29/08/2005 08:32

hi katef
weightwatcher on line !!?? i didn't know you could do that do you still have to go to meetings and all that ??
so happy that you are joining us well done with your 16 lbs x

KateF · 29/08/2005 08:57

No meetings just log your weight each week. The tracker and all sorts of useful stuff is all on the site plus message boards which are useful. I recommend it but do miss having a "gang" to help keep motivation up. Can't get to a class here as would have to take at least 2 kids with me!

sweetbean · 29/08/2005 09:37

how many kids have you got ?
