Hi all, would like to join this thread.
I weigh 10 stone 8lb.
I need to lose a stone. I have needed to lose it since October, but got lazy because of winter.
My problem is chocolate, so predictable I know!
I eat it to celebrate, if I have had ahard day, to treat myself, while watching favourite tv, such as des housewives, tonight, yippee!so sad.
Any way, I really hope to stay motivated.
It is difficult for me to get out of the house everyday with three year old and ten month old, so am going to try to do excercise dvd, but have problems with spd.
HTH.

hi am new here i have pcos and have been trying to lose weight for 3 years now but nothing seems to happen it comes off but really slowly like 1 lb per week

my husbands friend at work has been on a diet for 7 weeks and lost 4 stone when i saw it i couldnt believe it but its true

he is with a company called lighterlife i have joined it and they tell you to get a medical from your gp before you can start you dont eat for 12 weeks just there drinks and soups which have all the vitamins, minerals and protien you need i have been on it for 4 days and have lost 11 lbs already it costs £66 a week but it is worth it they give you help for the rest of the time you want it

if anyone is interested the website is www.lighterlife.com

this is a very old thread from 2005.....

cambridge diet is same as LL but half the price

blartins · 06/11/2008 10:25

I don't know if anyone is still looking at this thread, but I know people who have had initial success with Lighterlife and then put it all back on again. I agree with the earlier comment that the only diet which works is one that you stick with over time, so it can't be too strict. Have a look at www.slimming4mums.com - you have to be patient (it's not a crash diet), but it worked for me: I have lost 1 1/2 stones in the last 4 months and it's still coming off

With regard to the above post....it doesnt matter what diet/eating plan you follow. If you return to the habits you had that lead to a weight problem in the first place you will re-gain. Simple. This is not exclusive to programmes such as Lighter Life or Cambridge. If that were the case then clubs like WW or SW would never have any returners would they?

How you get there is almost an irrelevance. What really counts in the long run is how you live the rest of your life beyond reaching goal and putting what you've learnt on your weightloss journey into practice.
