Hi all, I cannot find a new starters thread for September 2026 (did my first mounjaro jab today) Is there one ?

I had my last night of freedom last night and ate like shit, full takeaway I was expecting my mounjaro to arrive yesterday but it didn’t so waiting on it today!

just wondering if it’s best to take when it arrives today so that the worst of any side effects begin to fade by Monday as I work Monday-Friday in a preschool

imanastronaut · 19/09/2026 10:44

Week one down. 6lbs down, I’m sure it’s mostly water.

The constipation is back full force, which I really struggled with on Mounjaro before but went away on wegovy! It’s a small price to pay but frustrating to relearn how to manage that

user626 · 19/09/2026 11:28

@tizzy13 I take mine on a Friday evening for that reason.

user626 · 19/09/2026 11:30

@imanastronauthow do you manage the constipation? I’m really struggling with it. I’m eating lots of vegetables and fruit and I’m taking a fibre supplement every day but still struggling.

InALonelyWorld · 19/09/2026 11:45

1st weigh in for me today and i have lost 2kg. I did my second jab last night after my update and the experience has been a lot more positive, this time the only side effect I've had so far has been a headache.

Cheesecake53 · 19/09/2026 12:23

@Eyelashesoffire yes. Though I have heard it now too that it is even before possible, but only up to 30 days.

Shedmistress · 19/09/2026 13:09

Bonjour, I took my first MJ on thursday evening and bloody hell, I was sick as a dog all night, and utterly exhausted all yesterday. A little less sick last night probably because I hardly ate yesterday and still feel like I've done 10 rounds with Tyson. Mainly I guess as I've had digestive issues for since I was 12, and I'm 58 now.

i'm having a fig with my eencredibly teeny lunch today to avoid any constipation issues. We have a fig tree in the garden which is currently producing lovely ripe figs every day so hopefully that will see me through the first 'starter' effects.

NDornotND · 19/09/2026 14:28

Hello all 👋- took my first shot of mounjaro yesterday morning. I am currently 136kg, so have a lot to lose. I managed to lose almost 60kg without medication a few years ago, but have had a really stressful year and put 45 kg of it back on. DH was surprised I have chosen to go for the injections, since I managed to lose so much without, but I pointed out I had 20 years of failing to do so before that! I am happy with my decision and have had very few side effects in these first days, but can feel appetite suppression. The only side effects I've noticed so far are being a bit burpy and food tasting nicer/more intense. Now I am thinking about exercise to maintain muscle mass....can't really afford the gym as well as the jabs, so i will have to find something i can do at home.

mousey100 · 19/09/2026 16:39

Hi, anyone doing weegovy jabs? Just had my 4th one today. Only thing that has happened is I have felt dog tired! No weight loss but no sickness. Going up to 0.5 next week. When can I expect to see some shift? Still ravenous, still overweight! Got about 1.5 -2 stone to lose, so was hoping for something by now.

CafedelaButte · 19/09/2026 17:09

@mousey100 I am doing the wegovy jabs, along with my DH. He did his 4th yesterday of 0.25 and has felt little difference at all. Still eating as usual and no weight loss. He’s moving up to 0.5 next week.

My experience totally different. I only did my first jab last Sunday but the following day I had terrible nausea all day and could barely eat. Tuesday was slightly better but still no appetite and the rest of the week, I have been uninterested in food. I have really had to force myself to eat. I have been drinking plenty as I know I need to. I weighed this morning and I have lost half a stone, though I know a lot of that is probably water. I want to lose about 1.5 - 2 stone, similar to you. My 2nd jab due tomorrow and I hope it’s better next week as I am not sure I could carry on feeling like this.

mousey100 · 19/09/2026 17:13

So odd how people respond differently! I’m not wishing for sickness, and ultimately I don’t want to lose weight from feeling ill, I just want the food noises to go away! I eat pretty healthily and exercise but am prone to a snack/ treat binge! And not drinking enough water.

Thank you - i will have a look 😊

hiddeneverythin · 19/09/2026 21:46

@mousey100 Me! I’ve had my second one and due my third on Tuesday - no side effects, still starving! Possibly lost a little bit this second week but through willpower and not through not wanting food/junk

CCC10 · 20/09/2026 08:37

reporting back on day 4 of Wegovy tablets. First day I was surprised to feel mild suppression and wasn’t hungry until each meal time and not massively then either. Felt a bit “heavy” in my tummy all day but other than that, felt fine. Day 2 sane except no heavy feeling. It’s a wonder to be able to resist snacking!! Day 3 yesterday was different as we were at my brother in laws for lunch and dinner for his birthday. Ate lunch and felt really full afterwards. Don’t really want dinner but couldn’t sit and not eat anything at a party so ate a bit to be polite. Did drink a few glasses of wine. Had a bit of a tummy ache but think that was for forcing myself to eat. Feel fine this morning. Overall, I’m really pleased with how it’s going. Need to work out a plan for when we’re socialising!

TeddyBeans · 20/09/2026 08:51

Just shy of 3 weeks on 2.5mg mounjaro and I've lost a stone (6.4kg) 🥳🥳 not seeing any physical differences yet but I've resolved to measure myself once a month to see if I've lost any inches. Tuesday is my last 2.5 dose then I'll be onto 5mg. Has anyone had an increase in side effects when they've gone up?

Keep going everyone!

EnglishGirlApproximately · 20/09/2026 09:17

That's amazing @TeddyBeans🎉

Weighing in a day early this week as I go away for work tonight and want to keep using the same scales.

SW 88kg
WK1 87.6kg
WK2 86.5kg

1.2kg down this week which I'm very happy with as I had a two day conference in there with no real control over what I ate. I made sure I stuck to small portions but it was very carb heavy with little protein and veg on offer.

Working away quite a lot for the rest of the month so any loss I'll take as a win, then hope to progress more in October when life is a little bit calmer!

tizzy13 · 20/09/2026 10:28

So I’m not sure if it’s starting to kick in yet but yesterday I managed to eat just 1,500 calories (98g of protein!)

I did feel hungry by the time I did my food shop about 4:30 but not ravenous if that makes sense? Considering I’d only had some scrambled eggs for lunch!
Meals consisted of lunch: scrambled eggs (2)
Dinner: ham & cheese mini wrap & 4 chicken satay skewers
Dessert/snacks: Aldi chocolate protein mousse
6 chocolate fingers 😂
4 more chicken satay skewers

I still found that in the evening I was craving some snacks but I was able to stop myself? It’s almost like it wasn’t hunger but boredom. Hopefully a few more days and that evening food noise will stop as it’s so annoying.

this morning I’ve felt fine and no side effects except for tmi a bit of loose bowel movements - nothing I haven’t had before with IBS though.
Have had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on one slice of seeded bread. Will be interesting to see if I feel the same snacky way this evening or if it starts to kick in.

I did weigh myself this morning out of curiosity and the scales think I’ve lost 1lb since yesterday but I’m sure that’s not possible!!

Shedmistress Bonjour! Can I assume you are in France like me? My doctor sent me to an endocrinologist to try and bring my Cholesterol and tryglicerides down - also high blood pressure - plus pre-diabetes. It is called Metabolic sydrome and I need to bring my levels down. BMI 28 but with other problems she decided to prescribe MJ. Still v v expensive as there is no refund but I'm ok with that for the moment. Lots of diabetes in my family so I hope to be able to ward that off.

Had my first jab (nervously) yesterday afternoon and bam! Huge suppression after a couple of hours and am trying to sip tea this morning as am feeling a bit nauseous. Maybe try to eat some yoghurt in a bit but the thought is making me feel yuk :(

Needtoshiftit · 21/09/2026 09:28

Weigh in and shot no.3 of wegovy 0.25 for me this morning. Still feeling good a bit of silent reflux in the week but seems to be ok since I’ve cut out onions and a bit of constipation, not painful though. Going to pick up some movicol today.

SW 07.09.26. - 101.6kg
CW 21.09.26. - 99.45kg

SashaRose · 21/09/2026 10:17

Morning all, I’m a wegovy jab September starter, first jab was last night, feeling ok at the minute. I have 2 stone to lose.
Hope everyone has a good Monday!

Iloveitalianfoodyum · 21/09/2026 10:43

Hello everyone can I join?

I have only just placed my order for wegovy and am feeling nervous about the nausea. I have the school run to do and pick up and work full time - how do you all do it? 😅

Berengariaoftheverylowcountries · 21/09/2026 12:28

I’ve had no nausea whatsoever. I also work full time. I feel I have more energy tbh

Hi I’ve only been taking for 2 weeks but the only nausea I have had is when I skipped breakfast and didn’t eat until 1 and I was fine once I had my lunch. So I now never skip a meal and I’ve cut out onions and tomatoes as they cased acid reflux x good luck x

I took mine on thursday late afternoon and was sick at night, felt like crap for Friday, was feeling sick but not sick during the night, felt better on Saturday just a bit tired and am pretty much normal today. So take it on before the weekend is my advice and do not have a large meal that evening!
