Anyone else waiting for this? I am, let’s start a thread to see how we all get on. I have two stone to lose. My DH said yesterday that ‘I am a bit plump’. Upset, though it’s true.

Summary of Day 1 for me…

Took tablet at 8am, had banana at 10am. Felt hungry by lunchtime and had typical lunch of sandwich with cheese, chicken and also a small slice of cake. Snacked on two boiled eggs and had Spag Bol for dinner. Crucially… I did not reach for salty snacks once which is highly unusual for me, and also did not reach for more bread - another win.

Side effects… a bit woozy for the first couple of hours, then a mild headache at 4.30pm with a wave of exhaustion that lasted about an hour.

All in all, I’m very happy with how it went. Will check in again in a couple of days. Great to read about everyone’s journeys!

Day 12 for me, can’t believe it! I’m trying to weigh myself once a week but couldn’t resist doing it early this week.

SW 74kg
CW 70.5kg

I think week 1 was mostly water weight so hopefully it will slow down.

Im still not fancying sweets and crisps, it’s a revelation for me! I’m tracking calories and eating 1200-1300 per day. The other day I fancied an ice cream because my family were having one, but it was a really considered decision - I enjoyed it but could still take it or leave it. Mostly I’m just enjoying having meat/yoghurt for protein, salad, bit of bread and fruit. I’m still fascinated how it works!! Touch wood, I haven’t had any side effects other than a bit of nausea for a few days. I’m a bit paranoid of my hair getting thinner so I’m going to invest in some supplements.

My check in is coming up now with Bolt and I’m going to ask for one more month on 1.5 I think. We are going on hols and I don’t want to upset the status quo.

edit to add - I’ve also been more motivated to go to the gym this week. I think now I’ve lost a bit it’s given me a boost. Did Pilates, swim and sauna this week ☺️

I was rejected by MedExpress, so applied to Bolt instead, who approved me on the same day.

They have been dispatched, so should be with me soon.

I'm quite nervous of the side effects, so could someone give me tips on all the things i ca do to minimise any potential side effects please?

It’s really individual - some people are nauseous at first so maybe get some peppermint tea? Take it consistently in the morning and at least 30 mins before food, eat little and often, don’t drink loads of booze or eat loads of fatty foods etc.

Namechangewegovyjune26 · 21/07/2026 17:04

I’m on day 12 and haven’t seen any side effects on the 1.5 dose. I plan to get some supplements before I titrate up to 4mg to try and help protect my hair! Also keeping active and eating enough protein helps.

SparkleforChristmas · 21/07/2026 18:18

Day 3...really tired, very snacky. Pah!
No other side effects. Did start the day with some dumbell exercises first thing after half a dinner last night...maybe thats sent me off course. Few side effects.

Bookaholic73 · 21/07/2026 19:50

Thanks for the tips. I’ll get some ginger tea and also peppermint tea.

I’ve read about taking it on an empty stomach, with a small amount of water, then waiting at least 30 mins before eating or drinking anything.
I think my plan will be to take it first thing in the morning and then take the dog out for a walk for our usual 45mins.

I just received an email to say it’s being delivered tomorrow morning!
So I’ll start it on Thursday, as I have the day off of work. So if I get any nasty side effects straight away, I’m at home.

To avoid constipation: Eat as healthily as you can. 3 modest meals. Lots of fibre and protein. Drink lots of water.

Bookaholic73 · 21/07/2026 21:47

@Mariettta thank you, I will do.
I really need to get better at drinking water, so that’s an incentive.

I’m on Day 12 - slightly tired, no headache but the acid reflux is killing me. I’m already on medication for it but turns out I’ve been taking it wrong so now have new routine as of tomorrow with the timing of both the wegovy and my other meds. Lost 2.5lbs the first week which I was pleased with but realise I was not eating appropriately. Food noise has mainly gone and I’m eating smaller meals.

digitalkiosk · 22/07/2026 06:56

I had my weigh in with voy last night and waiting on the prescription now. I am 5’5 and 11 and a half stone. Want to shift one and a half stone at least which I have 100% struggled to do over the last year - even just 3 or 4 pounds has been extremely difficult. Happy to give these a try but also anxious for any side effects.

I’ve also had trouble with heartburn, I take Lansoprazole but it’s not working like it used to, I’m having to use Gaviscon as well. I’ve just been taking it with my other meds as usual which is about an hour after my Wegovy.

wegogovy · 22/07/2026 07:20

Took my first pill an hour ago and then went back to sleep for a bit. I’ve got no plans for the next few days which will hopefully make any side effects easier to manage.

TheMasterplan23 · 22/07/2026 07:52

Day 14 for me today.

I love this!!! Slight sicky feeling for the first hour after I’ve taken the pill but I’m a bit of a sicky feeling person anyway….
In 2 weeks I’ve got rid of the 7lbs that I’ve been struggling with for the last 3 years! I lost 7 stone on WW years ago and although I’ve kept that off, I’ve always struggled with the last stone and amazingly it’s finally coming off!
Still not bothered by wine 😳 I’ve had a bottle in the fridge for the last 10 days and it’s remained unopened which is unheard of for me!
The food noise has gone completely and I don’t even think about snacking. Normally I’d grab a handful of crisps or a few crackers everytime I went in the kitchen…I don’t even think about it now. I feel like my head is clear of ‘food’ and at mealtimes I can make much better decisions because I’m focusing on fuelling my body rather than just eating whatever I can get my hands on.

LondonCheesecake · 22/07/2026 08:00

digitalkiosk have you had your thyroid checked recently? I didn't want to go on weight loss meds so tried super hard, recorded every calorie and barely lost a pound. I have an under active thyroid which is, in part, causing the problem. I'm now taking medication for that and Wegovy so I'm hoping for a big change in the next 12 months

24HoursFromTulseHill · 22/07/2026 08:32

Day 14 for me.
I've lost 2.7kg which is way over the 0.5kg per week I'm aiming for.
I've decided to stick on 1.5mg for month 2 because I want to see if I can maintain a 2kg a month loss on the lowest dose.

I'm finding the pill is taking the edge off my hunger so I still get hungry towards dinner time but I'm aware of it rather than it being something so intense I need to snack.

My theory is that if I go up to a higher dose I might not feel any hunger at all, and then when I reduce my dose or come off completely I'll have to re-adjust to that which could be harder.

Congrats! I’m feeling the same way with the snacking. I would always take a handful of something or other when in the kitchen but don’t even think about it now. I was clearly severely underestimating how many calories this was adding day to day.

This is interesting. I was wondering how best to navigate the increase in dose. Doing so well on 1.5 that I can’t imagine what higher doses would be like. Worse side effects? Barely eating at all? Or does the 1.5 become the new normal and snacking will creep in again…

Will just have to see how the rest of this month goes first 🤞🏻

@Thehumblesmidge and @24HoursFromTulseHill am in the same spot. After a big loss in the first few days, my weight is very very gently drifting down. I am hungry for meals, but the disappearance of food noise / no desire for snacking is transformational. I think I'm going to stay on 1.5 for the next month to see how I go slow will be fine, as long as it's down and I worry about not being hungry enough, losing weight too fast and / or being unable to manage more normal appetite after I decide to come off (if I ever do to be honest I so love the lack of food noise I shall be very sad to see it come back). But I think it's a case of taking it one month at a time and staying on as low a dose as I can in a way that supports me losing weight in a sensible and slow fashion. I do not want to lose as little muscle as possible, and am mindful of osteoporosis due to under-eating in my mother so ....

It’s a tricky decision and one I’m not sure how to make. I’m starting at a very high weight of 18stone so I am very tempted by the next dose. But I’m only 10 days in so I’ll see how I go…

barabuns · 22/07/2026 11:31

Checking in on Day 3. Felt a bit nauseous a few hours after taking the pill (first time for that) but I was also so hungry at 2am but couldn’t eat anything else it wouldn’t have been the required 8hours for taking the pill in the morning. So not sure if I was actually a bit low sugar /hungry and that made me feel a tad nauseous. I had a 10 min lie down and some breakfast and feel fine now.
I would agree with the snacking being less. But still not sure if it’s me being more mindful, as let’s face it the cost invested in this does keep one focussed (or at least it does me). I think what I’m saying is if I put £150 a month in a savings account and used will power would it be the same. I really want this to work. I’m sure it will but not quite the instant feeling some are reporting.

Poppycorn123 · 22/07/2026 11:47

Day 6 for me. I still feel exhausted even though I am taking a multivitamin daily. I have some iron tablets leftover from pregnancy so will take those. My mouth is really dry all day & night. Feel like I'm drinking gallons. I get the odd headache now and then. But feeling so much better than I was on the jab. It always made me vomit the first few days after jabbing. I felt so awful. For anyone who felt sick on jabs I'd recommend trying the tablets instead.

Solasum · 22/07/2026 17:08

Day 10. I am no longer interested in snacking. I had never realised how often I snacked. If I can make this a new habit, it would be life changing

BridgetRandomfuck · 22/07/2026 17:54

I’m on day three of the Wegovy pill and feeling really disappointed that I don’t feel any effect whatsoever! I don’t have any reduction in appetite, and also no side effects, I don’t feel like I’m taking anything! I’m doing it correctly, taking it first thing in the morning and waiting 30+ minutes before having coffee (don’t eat till lunchtime). Has anyone else had this? Do I need to wait for it to build up? I’ve never tried any WLI before, and reading about it on here I was so hopeful. I only need to lose about a stone and a half to get to where I want to be. Perhaps I need the next dose up. My DH has been taking Mounjaro for a couple of years and had effects from the first dose. Feeling a bit miffed!
