Anyone else waiting for this? I am, let’s start a thread to see how we all get on. I have two stone to lose. My DH said yesterday that ‘I am a bit plump’. Upset, though it’s true.

Did your pills fit through the letter box? Mine are arriving when I’m at work

@Pimpi it hadn't even occurred to me not to drink water in those 8 hours. I drink when I wake at 1 am (or whatever) and don't think twice about it. I assumed empty stomach was just food / something will take your system a while to digest and water doesn't count. I'm on day 9 so far and can feel good effects from the pill (no side effects, reduction in food noise and appetite but still able to eat three (smaller) healthy meals a day and a decent snack and have lost weight so will carry on doing what I'm doing ....)

So you can't drink water for 8 hours?!

keepincool · 16/07/2026 19:04

It's usually okay to drink still water up to 2 hours before having surgery, so sipping water during the night shouldn't be a problem when taking the wegovy pills. The max water fast would be 2.5 hours (2 hours before taking the pill and half an hour afterwards).

I just skim read it to be honest. It really puts me off. It annoys me that they took my money before I was verified.. I suppose I will just have to do it Also how do you take a photo of yourself from three feet away?!

Edited

In a mirror - as long as your phone doesn’t cover your face you’re fine.

Day 7 done

I started the week at 74kg and I’m now 72.2kg

It’s really interesting tracking my calories, see pic attached. first day was me “being good” on 2000 calories, day 2 was 2,500!😅

Now it’s properly kicked in - I’m not really restricting myself but it’s just naturally gone down. Before I really struggled to stay under 2000 calories. Now finding it easy to stay around 1500. Such an improvement for me!
And my DH brought cake home and I didn’t want any today - he couldn’t believe it haha 😂😂

I did have a cheeky beer at a work event today in the sunshine. But I felt like I needed a big water afterwards.

I’ve been following this thread with interest, hoping to join you all. However, today I was turned down by Voy because I have mild and well-controlled ulcerative colitis. Frustratingly it’s not specifically contraindicated in the MHRC (or FDA) guidelines, but ‘most UK pharmacies’ according to the Voy AI won’t risk prescribing GLP-1 medication in case of unknown additional GI side effects. So I would be interested to know if any of you have been able to get GLP-1 medicines prescribed with UC or other IBD, and if so, from which provider. Long shot, I know, but thank you!

I have been on Mounjaro for a year. Have lost two stone, need to lose another one stone. However Mounjaro is so expensive. I have ordered the Wegovy pill from Bolt and been approved. As soon as I finish my latest injection course I will change over. Mounjaro has done amazing things to my cholesterol and pre-diabetes so I hope Wegovy will do the same. I had no side effects from Mounjaro.

PillPoppin · 17/07/2026 02:17

Two weeks in and this is the first day I've felt quite shitty. It's probably also related to the fact that the air is filled with smoke from the Canadian fires and, if I'm entirely honest, yesterday was the first time I've drunk any alcohol (World Cup parties starting at 2pm ET are a bad idea!) but I've also realized I need to up my fruit and veg intake. My stomach feels like it's holding a bowling ball, although it is quite flat so that's always a plus!

Fourlemons · 17/07/2026 07:18

Day 6 and it's been great so far. It's really suppressing my appetite and I have no interest in eating the junk I'd usually be craving and find impossible to resist. I am hungry in the morning for the first time this week though

MustyDooDah · 17/07/2026 07:23

First pill taken this morning. I’m at maintenance having been taking jabs for nearly three years.

Spink86 · 17/07/2026 08:03

Started Tuesday morning and not sure if its psychological but it kicked in pretty quickly. The only thing I have struggled with is at the start of the day I am really light headed until about 60 mins after having breakfast.
I have however gone from 89kg down to 87.1kg. Turns out all the exercise I do will have an impact when the food noise is missing!

Whitewallwhiteceiling · 17/07/2026 09:44

I’m on day 8 now and not really feeling any significant effects yet. I have somehow lost 2lbs in the week though so we’ll see if that sticks. I am definitely not feeling the urge to snack at all, usually I graze all day at work and that has been knocked on the head so that’s been a positive but I am still getting hungry and can eat as much at meal times as I ever have (none of this getting full halfway through a meal for me as yet)

Springflowers1 · 17/07/2026 10:24

I spoke too soon re side effects. Had problems with Mounjaro with muscle pain and migraines so couldn't carry on. First pill yesterday, felt fine until bed when leg pain started to creep in and is bad today. Anyone else getting muscle pain?

poolcrew · 17/07/2026 10:46

Day 5 today. Headache back with a vengeance. Not sure if it’s eye strain, the tablets, or I’m getting a cold. It could realistically be any of these as have new glasses and am sneezing a lot.

I historically weigh on a Friday. 5lbs down this morning. I’ll weigh again on Sunday for a week 1 figure but am out for dinner tonight. I don’t get the ‘feeling full halfway through a meal’ yet so I may inadvertently over indulge, but have planned my meal in advance and I should end the day on 1500 cals (all going well!)

So happy with the first result!

time4anothername · 17/07/2026 11:25

Headaches and sicky feeling may be blood sugar changes - if you can afford it then wearing a continuous glucose monitor alongside the pills for a couple of weeks will help work it if some of the headaches and sicky feelings are actually low blood sugar from the change in diet habit / hormones (you can now buy them for people who are specifically non-diabetic so you are not depriving diabetics of limited availability tech).

Thehumblesmidge · 17/07/2026 11:27

Day 5 and it seems all my nausea symptoms were done by day 1 and 2. Praying they don’t come back! Felt like morning sickness. I wonder if they ramp up again when the dose increases.

Been feeling absolutely fine the past few days and an immediate reduced appetite. The biggest change is a lack of sweet tooth as that really was my downfall. There’s a packet of peanut M&Ms that’s been sitting for days and I have no desire to eat them. Previously I’d finish the lot in one go of an evening.

Thistimeimeanitforreal · 17/07/2026 13:45

7 days in, 1kg down. I’ve not felt any side effects and it’s been so easy to stick under 1500 calories, I’m honestly thrilled! The start of a journey and I feel like this time it might actually work.

@MrsHollyhock i have stage 2 diverticular disease throughout my large intestine. Not the same as UC of course, but also unpredictable. I’ve not had a flare since November last year. I went with the tablets as I figured if there was an issue, they would be out of my system quicker than the jabs.
I used Boots, was completely open about it all, and was approved no issue.
I think illness involving the pancreas is the one to be most cautious about? Anyway might be worth seeing what Boots say. Good luck.

MrsHollyhock · 17/07/2026 18:18

@Thistimeimeanitforreal thank you for replying, I also requested the tablets on the basis they would leave the system quicker if necessary. Having been turned down by Voy, today I was approved by Bolt! They decide on a case-by-case basis unlike Voy - just in case that helps anyone.

24HoursFromTulseHill · 17/07/2026 18:58

I'm on day 10
2.5kg down so far.
No side effects.

I'm not recording every calorie but just making choices that reduce my calories I.e just having yoghurt & fruit for breakfast rather than adding granola, choosing a leafy salad with some protein in for lunch rather than a sandwich.

I'm finding it's easier to make healthy choices at meal time rather than being led by cravings or just trying to rely on will-power alone.

I'm after a slow & steady approach so I might stay on the 1.5mg dose for a second month if this rate continues. My weight loss goal is 2kg a month so I'm already over that but I know it will plateau at some point and that's when I'll up the dose.

OneMoreCookieMonster · 17/07/2026 20:15

Reporting back - day 5
Friday weigh day - I've lost 1.9kg
Most likely water weight but any loss is a gain. Not currently calorie counting just eating less, moving more and drinking more water. I have also gone down to one coffee per day, no tea. Typically having a protein shake for breakfast, soup or overnight oats for lunch (fruit and seeds added) and about half the size of the dinner I would usually have. No snacking at all because I don't want to (huge revelation) and just water from 7.30 pm til bed.

Literwlly don't fancy the multiple cups of coffee or cans of fizzy drink I was having a week ago.

Side effects seem to have disappeared. Just feeling absolutely dead tired by bed time

Poppycorn123 · 18/07/2026 09:02

Day 2 of taking it. Day one went well, I didn't feel hungry all day until 6pm . Ate Weetabix for breakfast and a small wrap at lunch. I had two small slices of homemade pizza for dinner and that was enough. No nausea or sickness (yet) which is a revelation because on the injection I was sick as a dog the first few days after. Early days but Im hoping this is the way forward 🤞

applecharlotte · 18/07/2026 09:55

Day 7 weigh in - 2lb down. I feel great. Reduced appetite is making it very easy to eat around 1300-1400 calories a day. No snacking, don't fancy caffeine or fatty foods/chocolate/junk at all. Evening meal is when I seem to feel a little hunger so eat my biggest meal then.

Other benefits, not vaping as much - should probably use this as an opportunity to quit as it seems to have reduced my nicotine cravings as well as food! Also, I feel very clear minded which has been brilliant for work and focus.

I don't have loads to lose as BMI was 26.1. Medex clinician could see my weight has all gone around my middle due to perimenopause and seemed to take that as a medical condition that qualified, which was interesting. But would love to lose 2lb a week for a couple of months, and will stay on the lower dose if they represcribe.

SweetBaklava · 18/07/2026 11:22

I was approved via Superdrug online GP earlier this week and the pills arrived this morning. Going to start on Monday. Weight submitted to Superdrug was 13st 11lb (for context I’m only 5ft) and I didn’t even hit that weight during either of my pregnancies 😬 Can’t wait to get started. This will be cheaper than buying new clothes I will need if I continue to gain weight!!!

Sundaynightterrors · 18/07/2026 11:29

Pills just arrived so will be starting tomorrow morning. Am hoping that they really help with the food noise and cravings.
Will update tomorrow after the first tablet.
