My first jabs arrived today. Thinking of starting Wednesday which is technically end of April but wanted to start a new group for anyone starting soon!

Nervous but kind of excited for good results. Watched a YouTube video instruction for the pen before, I might get my husband to do it for me!!

Anyone want to join me and share / support each other??

Hi all, joining in. Been watching this thread. Not started yet but have ordered and been approved so am hoping it arrives tomorrow but know it may not come until Tuesday or Wednesday. Am a bit scared I’ll be one of those that has massive side effects but looking forward to getting started. I’m 52, 5ft 5 and 14st 4lbs so lots to lose and looking forward to starting and sharing the journey with you all.

madeinthe80z · 03/05/2026 05:51

Welcome to all the new starters and all those about to start!

has anyone identified any trigger foods or drinks that bloat them or give any of the dreaded side effects?

I am tracking using nutracheck but at the minute haven’t set my goals. I want to test what feels right. For the first time since my jab on Tuesday, I had about 2000 calories yesterday and I definitely went to bed bloated. I didn’t eat anything ‘bad’ though, but I went out for lunch and although I picked the salad when I put it in the app it was a fair bit more than I thought. I have found rennie is my friend though! I was also tired and ate curled up on the couch so I don’t think that helped either.

@mollioI’d definitely recommend some indigestion tablets to help with what you’re describing if you haven’t already

First weigh in today and I have lost 3.5kg. which is incredible!. I know week one is often a big loss so Im not getting too excited, but what is incredible is that I actually am eating more food than I normally would, because of the tracking, and every day I think to myself that I cant possibly lose weight by eating more.

But Im guessing its feeling like more because of the choices. And cutting down on so many coffees with 2 sugars (now limiting myself to about 3 a day with one sugar) and maybe those 'ooh just one pastel de nata wont hurt that Im not actually feeling like Im missing out on avoiding.

pinkballoons90 · 03/05/2026 14:14

That’s amazing @NettleTeawell done!!

also using nutracheck and aiming for around 1500 cals a day (well that’s what it’s told me to aim for!) but I really don’t want to get obsessive about it…I know I’m eating much less than usual and importantly making better choices! Interestingly I’m due my second dose tomorrow and feel like it’s wearing off a bit, is that a thing!?

Crackery · 03/05/2026 19:36

Where do you all buy from please?

Have a look on monj.co.uk - there’s a list of pharmacies with discounts. Check the lowest for the strength you want.
You're welcome to use my discount code (£80 off) for Numan too - https://www.numan.com/refer/REF-U49RMKYP?referral_landing_v2=false&additional_context_v2=false

suneetime · 03/05/2026 22:55

I got mine from Asda. There’s a £30 off code on the website. Doubt it’s the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive and I wanted a name I knew. No idea why as I doubt it makes any difference. Sent them my photos yesterday (mortifying!) and it arrived today so I’ve done my first jab this evening.

I use nutracheck too, but I’m not preplanning, just recording through the day or at the end and reviewing. I’m not getting enough protein so doing a bit of research on low calorie high protein snacks at the moment because I feel like if I can’t eat something ‘healthy’ I will just abstain all together even though I do feel hungry!

@crackery Definitely use monj to help you decide. Up to date prices and offers etc and they have all the right certifications etc but trustpilot reviews are also included. I think I’ll end up being a switcher to chase the discounts but so far, medicine marketplace for me and lotus for my husband have been fine.

Id be interested in high protien snacks too!

Today I didnt sleep well. I think I had stomach ache and this morning feel sick and burpy. However I did eat some leftover food from a couple of days ago, and so that may well be to blame. I was burpy at the beginning of last week too. I hope it settles down as I have to go to work today but dont thankfully have too much to do

madeinthe80z · 04/05/2026 14:22

I chat GPT’d the high protein low cal (and low salt) snack ideas and here’s some of my favourite ideas:

Turkey or chicken slice roll ups with cucumber sticks and cream cheese or just cheese inside
boiled eggs
prep ahead egg muffins with various fillings
chicken with Greek yoghurt dip
Lean meat slices (when roasted yourself much less salt than deli slices)
Greek yoghurt
protein yoghurt
protein pudding
Celery / mean / egg with cottage cheese (I only eat full fat longley farm - it is the best!)

Oh and prawns - I love having them with sweet chilli sauce like you get in the little M&S snack packs

I've got an appointment booked tomorrow at my local pharmacy after work. I'm still really undecided about this and wanted to be able talk to someone about it, as I already suffer from terrible acid reflux as it is, but I really need to do something about my weight. I have a good 4 stone to lose, probably more if I'm honest.

Kitten234 · 04/05/2026 18:25

Can I join please?

Had my first jab on Friday, so day 3 for me.

Minimal side effects, a very slight headache day 1 and indigestion, both passed now.

I definitely have suppression. Feel less hungry and eating smaller portions. Comes in waves though I find. Feel hungry then it passes.

How are you all feeling? How many calories are you aiming for per day?

CW 11 stone 11
GW 10 stone

Only 5 foot

NettleTea · 04/05/2026 19:40

today has been a wierd one. I felt sickj this morning and had my breakfast, but Ive not eaten all day. Just tea. and two coffees, and a pack of biltong on the way home. I do have LOTS of lovely eggs from the farm though. Dont feel sick but do have a bit of a headache, which I assume is dehydration, although I did have a headache last Monday too. and my god I was burping this morning but thankfully that seems to have subsided.

BareBelliedSneetch · 04/05/2026 20:45

I ordered for the first time today. It’s taken me a month to manage to step on the scales to find my weight so I can enter it into the website. That’s been quite a hurdle to getting started.

ThatAgileMintBiscuit · 04/05/2026 21:27

Took my first injection last week and just wanted to check in. Appetite was really suppressed for the first day or so afterwards — my top tip is remember to eat. I only realised I hadn’t eaten when I suddenly felt anxious and shaky. I also struggled to sleep the day after taking it, which I wasn’t expecting.

I’ve found it hard to eat properly this week, so I’m going to be a bit stricter with getting my protein in. Started at 11st 8 and weighed in at 11st 2 this morning, so it’s definitely doing something.
odd side effect but not sure if this related to my PMS but feeling alittle more irritated than usual.

I also need to start the gym this week.

Hope everyone else starting out is doing okay too.

madeinthe80z · 04/05/2026 21:55

Hi everyone, lots of people getting started which is exciting. Well done for taking that first step @BareBelliedSneetchit can be really hard.

@ThatAgileMintBiscuiti might be with you in the more irritated but then I’m not eating as much so might be hangry?!

May I join? Did my third Mounjaro 2.5 jab yesterday. I have been feeling a lot calmer around food since taking it which has allowed me to get on with the things I need to be doing. No real weight loss but I’m not sure that’s anticipated in the first month.

pinkballoons90 · 05/05/2026 10:35

great result @madeinthe80z! Had my second jab yesterday, feeling pretty sick this morning but it got better once I’d eaten. I’m definitely learning that even if you don’t feel like it, it’s important to eat! Otherwise you just feel worse (plus I guess harder to maintain long term weight loss).

like you @fluffiphloxim feeling much calmer around food too. Feel a bit nervous about the idea of increasing doses but I guess that’s up to me and will see how I’m doing in a couple of weeks.

would be keen to hear others experiences of increasing doses over the next few weeks!

madeinthe80z · 05/05/2026 13:34

@pinkballoons90 yep, I’ve found it to be a bit like morning sickness! Try not to have too much of an empty stomach or it gets worse!

food noise is back today so I’m definitely ready for my jab tonight! I’ve been feeling hungrier today and keep thinking about what am I gonna have and when am I gonna have it. I can really tell the difference vs other days which is interesting.

welcome @fluffiphlox !

Is anyone else’s stomach making crazy rumbling sounds? I don’t think it’s hunger as I’ve had breakfast and lunch today …,

madeinthe80z · 05/05/2026 13:53

@Kitten234 my stomach has definitely been rumbling more this week, not sure if I can hear it much but can definitely feel it!

OP posts:
NettleTea · 05/05/2026 14:22

Im burpy, and feeling like I need the loo, but dont. a bit constipated despite the water. I am finding it tricky to get fruit in while balancing high protein, surely there is tons of fat ready to burn before we start losing muscle!

I had another bad nights sleep last night - my legs were really achy BUT because of the lymphodema Im not sure whether its just stuff moving as the inflammation reduces, as Ive noticed some definite, although slight, improvement on the swelling. Only slight, but some nevertheless. And all that old stagnant stuff thats been stuck in my legs needs to go somnewhere. I also noticed that my ankle which I broke back in 2000 (new years day when I decided to do a healthy walk every day and fell over in the woods and broke it) is hurting, which is actually a good sign because it has been surrounded by a mass of tissue that is full of swelkling and lymph around the injury.

NeedToChangeWays · 05/05/2026 19:50

Week 1 done. Have lost 7lbs!!

So delighted but I m well aware a lot of that is water loss.

Took 2nd jab this eve. Hope nausea wont be as bad tomorrow as have a busy few days ahead
