Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we spring into spring not obsessing over Easter Eggs for the second year 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!
I’m on W68 D6 and on w12 of 2.5mg maintenance dose.

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 10lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far at lowest weight was 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0) maintenance has seen 4 of those pounds go back on.

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style/vinted chat too 🤗

fingers crossed for you! It’s a glorious day here - off to have lunch at the revamped Simpson’s on the Strand… because who doesn’t love a carving trolley full of roast beef ? 😂

I got soaked and am now sitting in the car in cold wet jeans. Very jealous of your warm carvery meal. I haven't had lunch as dh didn't book anywhere and anywhere decent is packed. At least getting warm again will be a treat!

Goldleafcat · 15/03/2026 15:27

I’m absolutely stuffed after a 3 course meal at a gastro pub. Tempted to have a nap!

PinkArt · 15/03/2026 16:07

Lovely NSV. My HBA1C which was in the pre diabetes range is now not only back in the normal range, it's very comfortably so. Normal is 20-41, mine was sitting at 42 or 43 and is now 32. 🥳

KentishMama · 15/03/2026 20:25

Hello everyone!

Sorry I've been missing in action. Life just got in the way. I've been so so busy with both family stuff and work, and travelled a fair bit as well.

Rough figures because I can't be bothered to look it up:
SW 100 kg
Mounjaro SW 94 kg
CW = GW 67 kg - BMI 22

I am really well. I went on a solo skiing trip with a group of fab women who I'd never met before. Completely out of my comfort zone, and we skied about 16 hours over 3 days, so I got lots and lots of exercise! It was so good!!!

I'm trying to limit the shopping a bit now. I have a wardrobe full of things that fit. And a few loose things that I like too much to throw out. But I'm tempted to download Vinted after catching up on the thread now... :)

As a heads up I was looking through an Oushk chat and there were comments about the expiry dates of the pens they are sending out. Someone said they received a 10mg pen with a sept 26 expiry - clearing out stock before the new pens come in or someone has forgotten to rotate the stock?

Maybe other suppliers are doing the same?

I wonder if anyone else would be interested in a specific thread where we can note the expiry dates we are being issued and by which supplier? Also,...

I have just put something on there @lovealongbath . It only impacts those who have a big stockpile built up along with maybe taking smaller doses from big pens to make them last up to 8 weeks. I know some are worried about losing the bonus dose due to affordability concerns.

Mounjaropen · 16/03/2026 10:02

Good morning everyone!

I have a well-deserved hangover today 😂I can highly recommend the revamped Simpsons as a wonderful place to enjoy a leisurely lunch. The cardamon gimlets were pretty special too (I may have had several too many). I arrived apparently just as Kim Cattrall was leaving so I didn't get to see her (shame)

I have just placed my order with Oushk - used my 'fat mamma's day' discount code. Obviously I needed to upload my ID. AGAIN. And just in case I'd had a growth spurt at the grand age of 54, my height. AGAIN. Delivery times are for more than a week so plan that in if anyone is running low. In fairness it was less painful than before and no need for a video call, so that's something I guess. There's still time for them to email me with some sort of issue tho - let's see.

@PinkArtthats brilliant, go healthy you.

@KentishMamawoohooo those are amazing stats, well done you. Enjoy all the new clothes.

Im so close to my holiday goal weight, maybe 300grams away. Totally doable by Thursday.

Was packing this weekend and I tried on some capris I bought for my September holiday, that didn’t go past my thighs then, they now go on, do up and are very roomy around the waist. Can’t believe the change. They’re perfect for excursion days so I’m delighted.
Some of my new dresses are too big, they’re just for around the pool so will be fine (no time to return and replace) the thought I might be able to wear 12s in some dresses is pretty overwhelming.

So while the scale has been slow my body has been getting on with changing.

Oh the height question drives me insane! I uploaded proof from my medical records AND they’ ve checked my height via video call, why do they ask for it EVERY TIME?!
Do other providers do this?

But I’m glad you had a lovely time at Simpson’s yesterday, it all sounds pretty fabulous - well maybe except for the hangover. The gimlets sound worth it though!

Skiing is definitely one of those activities where weight and fitness make a huge difference - it’s so fun when you’re feeling strong! Glad you had an amazing time.

I know what you mean about having a wardrobe of clothes that fit. I’ve been slowly rebuilding my wardrobe one Vinted purchase at a time and I think I’ve finally reached a decent number of clothes for Spring (when it finally arrives)! Now I need to sell some on.

PinkArt · 16/03/2026 18:34

Ooooh I've got the rest of my blood tests now. Kidneys are also better than they were and my cholesterol hasn't changed much, but was surprisingly not shit when it was last tested considering I was morbidly obese. The message from my GP suggests my bad cholesterol is a bit high but the NHS website has it in the normal range still. And my QRisk for heart attack or stroke is 2.6% which is low.
So I feel confident saying no to statins - which was what prompted these tests - as ideally I don't want to add another for life medication into the mix when I'm only mid 40s. I'm going to focus a bit more on food that will help lower cholesterol though, beyond just general healthier eating.

OliviaFlaversham · 16/03/2026 19:13

Hello! Haven’t been on for ages but have put Mumsnet back on phone so am back.

For the first time in recent memory, I am not obese. I’m overweight (29.3 BMI) but to not be obese feels good. I started at 23 stone with a BMI of 50.4. Had plateaus and gains so it has evened out at an average of 2lb a week off. In reality, it has been some weeks -6lb and others (school holidays!) +8!

LindtCurves · 16/03/2026 19:13

Ladies, I am having a bit of a rubbish time :(

Been off MJ about 4 weeks and very low consumption in Jan/Feb in general. Mentioned previoulsy I have gained 11lb.

Today I'm just grumpy and sad. Which may well be a normal way to be, but it isn't for me. For the past 14 months, I have been mentally super consistent, happy, positive, can-do about everything. Completely untouchable. No hormonal mood swings, nothing

Being 'off my meds', I am:

  • Experiencing mood swings
  • Cravings of UPFs, started off by eating a little, now I'm in a place where I feel like I can have loads. Just wolfed down a big supermarket dessert
  • Bloated
  • As my normal self, I am usually signing and dancing in the car, always happy, sparky, today I could barely hold a neutral face and nearly had a go at a stranger

There's of course links between weight, activity levels, gut microbiome, UPFs, hormone levels and moods.

Just feel like in my case the hormones that the drug influences also have a huge impact on my mental health.

Some MJ should be arriving for me tomorrow and I'm sure I'll be 'cured' by the weekend. However, I'm not sure if it's a wise idea for me to ever come off it.

Off MJ, I just feel like a superhero that's lost its powers.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 16/03/2026 19:21

Hi all. I’ve been reading about how my local NHS board intends to implement weight loss drugs. https://democracy.edinburgh.gov.uk/documents/s96228/6.4%20-%20Obesity%20Medicines%20Specialist%20Initiation%20Pathway.pdf democracy.edinburgh.gov.uk/documents/s96228/6.4%20-%20Obesity%20Medicines%20Specialist%20Initiation%20Pathway.pdf]]]] I’m torn on this - they intend to have a 28 person team support 571 individuals initially. The support will be psychology, dieticians and exercise specialists. I genuinely don’t think dieticians and exercise specialists are required! I’m not sure about psychology. I think it goes back to what many of us on these threads have said. We know what we should eat. We know we should exercise. We’re not idiots. This sounds like a really expensive way of providing support, when really, what most folk need are a) someone to prescribe it who understands the potential issues with any co-morbidities or other medication and b) someone to consult with on any side effects. The vast majority of people using them at the moment get this from their pharmacist. No wonder they think the costs will never outweigh the financial benefits.

Hoping you get back to feel great again soon.

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar I agree with you. I know the NHS is being ultra cautious with the roll out. Support is good but if it is too onerous people will not engage with the process if they are being treated like idiots and told stuff they already know - I felt this was always the problem with weight watchers and slimming world

And then they’ll analyse the cost/benefit ratio and conclude it’s too expensive to expand further…
