I posted in the previous thread but will do an update here. I’ve messed up in my mind due to using two different scales, my original scales said I lost more, but my new body composition scales tell me lots more about my losses or just my body in general! So trying to stick to those…

5’10
SW - 13.7 (21.1.26)
GW - 11 or possibly less if I ever get there
CW 12.2 (today 10.2.26)

I just did my 4th jab of MJ 2.5 tonight and I had awful symptoms very early on in week 1-2, I had taken a fybogel sachet too which I’m sure contributed… I was so poorly and thought I’d have to give up! But then I overcame the symptoms and have been writing everything I’ve eaten and had to drink, my list in notes is as long as my leg, but it’s nice to see I’m staying on track. I did have a sneaky 5 choc buttons the other night, which were so good! But I am cutting out the cr*p as best I can. No crisps since 21.1.26! They are my downfall.

I do feel exhausted and although I could put it down to massive change in diet, I did previously always feel tired, I’m on levothyroxine too so could be to do with thyroid…

I have bought weights and did some lifting the other morning - I felt like a lemon in my living room doing them, but my arms ached the next day so I obviously did something right - I think!

I want to do the golden dose on the weekend, then have another 2.5 pen… I’ve paid an obscene amount already, so need to shop around but I’m worried I now may not be accepted anywhere due to weight I’ve lost? Any tips?

I’m a wee bit confused. Were you previously on WLI - I don’t know your bmi but knowing my own height and weight it feels like it must have been a fair bit under30 to start with? That on top of a very high weight loss in three weeks is maybe why you feel so tired? Are you eating enough? Loads of places will do maintenance plans, so your current prescriber might offer one but I understand that it’s tempting to switch for cost savings. I haven’t don’t it yet myself but I know several people who have but they had to show some evidence of previous prescriptions - I think photos of the boxes with their name/orescriber/date on it was enough. .

No this is my first time, I think my BMI was 28.

I am eating enough I think, lots of veg and protein where possible, eggs, chicken etc. Greek yoghurt everyday.

Hi all,

so I’ve just taken my fist dose of 5mg MJ and feeling nervous all over again.

i only lost 800grms last week which was really disappointing as I thought I had a really good week and have increased my exercise as well.

SW 100kg
CW 93kg
Loss after 4 weeks 7kg (1stone 1ld)

i know I’ve lost 7kg which is great and my clothes are definitely feeling looser but I had hoped to have lost at least another kg this week.

Ive so much to loose the realization of how long this is going take has really hit home. Ive a wedding in August and I really want to be able to buy a dress I love and look good in rather than find something that just fits me.

anyway, onwards and upwards and keep going everyone

CatNoBag · 11/02/2026 09:05

@totallyfrusted don't lose heart - a loss is a loss and there will be ups and downs. I hada big loss in the first week, then every week since has tailed off a bit but still gong down. I find that giving myself micro targets help, and not thinking too much about how things will be in six months, or how much longer to goal etc. I was in bed this morning and thought I'd like to be 13 stone 5 by the end of this month (which is about 4.5lbs to go, and will be a Stone lost for me), then maybe 12.12 by end of March. I'd like all the weight gone asap, but trying to be realistic and set sensible goals. Of course, my mind then wandered to the total I'd still have left to lose after that, and how long it will take (urgh), but I shut that down because there's no need for the negativity. We're doing what we can and moving in the right direction!

Shot day today!

Here are my stats - pretty pleased considering it includes a holiday. Side effects (headache and nausea) a bit more intense. Back to the gym this week so hoping that will help with more loss.

SW 1/1/26 - 93.3kg
MJ1 (2.5mg) 7/1/26 - 90.3 kg -3kg
MJ2 14/1/26 - 87.5kg -2.8kg
MJ3 21/1/26 - 86.5kg -1kg
MJ4 28/1/26 - no scale
MJ5 (5mg) 5/2/26 - no scale
MJ6 - 84.05kg -2.45kg

GW - 68kg
Total loss: -9.25kg

Thank you for the pep talk. I know I need to take it in small steps.

90kg was my first goal which would be a 10 kg loss and 10% body weight loss but it suddenly feels a lot harder to get there.

am hoping the 5mg will get things moving.

RedApplePie · 11/02/2026 09:50

I know what you mean totallyfrustrated. The excitement sort of carries you through initially then suddenly you are faced with the reality of how long this is going to take, and all the work you are going to have to do, not only with nutrition but with mindset and fitness as well and then I get upset and think I wish I could just have eaten normally and never let this happen in the first place. On the more positive side, I try and remind myself that a pound a week is a lot over a year. But it’s hard sometimes.

I did lose a LOT of weight (about twice what I currently have to lose) 10 years ago. I realise now it was a completely disordered and unsustainable way of eating, even though it was widely promoted. It did, I suppose, work but it took over my life meeting all its requirements rigorously . This feels more normal eating in that nothing is banned and I don’t have to have hysterics about a random unapproved food item on my plate. Although I’m still too worried about GI side effects to stray far from a fairly simple diet at the moment, I can see that over time this will give a lot more flexibility.

bec81 · 11/02/2026 10:02

Weigh in day here too. Very pleased with loss as I felt I had been eating more fatty foods than previous weeks.
Sw: 81.5kg
End of Wk 1: 77.8kg (-3.7)
End of Wk 2: 76.8kg (-1)
End of wk 3: 76.2kg (-0.6)
End of wk 4: 75.5 (-0.7)
End of wk 5: 73.9 (-1.6)
Total weight loss: (7.6kg)
Tw: 55-60kg

I feel good and am excersing plenty. My skin looks better, my hair and nails are strong. Probably as much because of the lack of booze and introduction of collagen. Can't see it in any loosening of clothes yet I dont think.

Which type of collagen are you using? I’m thinking I should probably try it!

I’m using nutrition geeks. It’s extremely palatable in coffee - no taste or odd texture. No idea if it’s working though!

Ralphiesaurus · 11/02/2026 12:25

Jab day today...!

SW 14st 8lb
CW 13st 7lb
GW 11st 7lb
Loss to date: 1st 1lb in five weeks

I took my first 5mg last week and the side effects have been more manageable than I expected. I hope the next one is similar...

Happy with weight loss so far (after a slow start) and liking the fact I'm not tempted to snack between meals.

I am 0.2 (BMI) above being "overweight" not obese any more... feels like that will be quite a milestone.

Octagoneaway · 11/02/2026 18:23

Enjoy New York!!

I’m feeling pretty fed up. I’d lost about 5kg after 6 weeks and 2 x 5mg, then my weight popped up a bit, which was disappointing but no big deal. Went out for dinner and drinks last night. I left quite a bit of food as I was so full, but drank quite a few cocktails, so I don’t think the scales will be kind. But the worst bit is that I was feeling positive until I saw a photo of myself and realised how large I still look (yes I know 4kg was hardly going to make me look slim, but I can dream). Miserable today 😢

RedApplePie · 11/02/2026 18:59

Don’t let photos taken on a night out make you feel rubbish. Someone invariably uses a wide angle shot and if you are near the camera it will double your size. 4-5kg loss it 6 weeks is a perfect rate of loss.

whiteandblackfluffycat · 11/02/2026 19:58

Have a great time @notcomfortable !

I’m down to 12 st 10 today (2lbs down since Friday) and checked my BMI and it’s now 28.7 - yay!

SW: 78.3kg 1st MJ
Wk 2: 74.65 (-3.65kg)
Wk 3: 72.95 (-1.7kg)
Wk 4: no scales where I was
Wk 5: 70.10 (equivalent of 1.4kg each week)
total loss: 8.2kg/18lb

GW: 57-60kg

I made the decision to stay on 2.5.
It’s been doing the job well and so I figured it made sense to. But the last 2 days I’ve had cravings come back. After a month of them having totally disappeared it felt like a really unpleasant neighbour appearing banging on the door.. I thought ‘oh no, the 2.5 has stopped working just 2 days into my 1st dose with this pen’. But it seems to have settled again now.

Bar the shift in the scales, my rings now fit me properly which feels good.

Im kind of losing motivation now though. I’ve been so so strict though, but maybe it’s ok to just ease off for a week. It’s not the end of the world if I have a week where I just maintain.

I have 2 questions;

  • I’d like to change provider as I’m sure I can get my next dose cheaper. But I’m now a tiny mark off the top end of a normal BMI - will that make it impossible?

• at first I felt very positive on MJ- maybe it was the buzz of doing so well at cutting down calories etc and seeing drops on the scales. But this week my mood has really plummeted. And I can’t tie it to my cycle. Something sad has happened in my life but I find myself in tears all the time. I can’t work out if it’s linked to MJ at all. Does anyone relate?

I’m interested in the answer to your 1st question! I’m a way off a “normal” BMI but creeping closer into “overweight” and wonder if I’ll have issues switching provider. Hopefully not with my prescriptions?

I’ve had luck finding discount codes online for pharmacy2go though.

I definitely read on Mumsnet a few days ago, possibly another wli thread, that even with an overweight bmi and no longer obese bmi, people have been able to switch provider without hassle. I think you need to upload proof of your current prescription from the packet plus whatever photo/video criteria they have.

I’ve had zero side effects from moving up to 5mg on Friday.

I’ve finally dropped another lb after staying the same for 1.5weeks, bringing my total loss to 22lbs, and I’m feeling positive about this Friday’s weigh in.

Edited

How long were you going on 2.5mg?
