I am trying to stay on the smallest possible dose and take 1.25 (30 clicks of 2.5 pen) every 5 days.

I’ve lost 5.5lbs in 3 weeks and have moments where I wrestle (with mixed success) with urges. But the food noise is gone. I eat smaller meals. I stick to my calories and macro targets mostly easily - the urges are around context not hunger.

It definitely works for me. I am open to taking more as I need it.

Edited

I think its really helpful to wrestle with food noise especially if youre planning on going it alone without wli in the long term.

Wow I’ve lost the equivalent to a washing machine! 84lbs 🤩

That is insane.

Housewife2010 · 08/02/2026 10:51

I've lost 74 lbs in a year - 25 average sized ferrets! 🤣

Marking place in the new thread!

SW (on 3rd January) 111.05 kg
CW 104.5 kg
Total loss: 6.55 kg

Still on 0.25 but now jabbing every 5 days. Need to decide if I'm going to go up to 0.5 for my third pen or keep this up. I want to lose slowly and sustainably, rather than rely on the WG to keep me artificially suppressed - but I'd also love to lose a bit more over the next month.

This is a good loss. Almost identical to mine. Im facing the same dilemma. I stayed on 0.25mg. No side effects anymore and I got into a good routine over the past two weeks. Im having to talk myself out of the odd treat too much or the urge to clear my plate but it is much easier than before. I could continue like that. But another month on 0.25 could feel very long if the effects start wearing off.

My average weekly loss is 1.1kg. I don't want to lose more than that. Its a lot already. I will just get fatigued and I think the risk of gallbladder issues increases the faster the weight loss.

I have another 1.5 weeks to decide. Will be curious to know your decision!

LilacPossum · 08/02/2026 12:48

Thanks for the new thread :)

I’ve gone up a dose on WG and it’s absolutely kicking my ass :( Did my first at 0.5 last Friday and everything was fine, did my second one this Friday and I've got the worst side effects I’ve had since the beginning. Ate a small amount of curry and rice (spice has been absolutely fine so far) and a glass of Prosecco after and the whole lot came back up. Plus I’ve been stuck on the loo, even through the night.
This was my biggest worry- I work in a place where having the trots would be a nightmare and no option to WFH this week! I’m slowly sipping peppermint tea and praying for less side effects.

I'm wondering if going up was a mistake!

RedApplePie · 08/02/2026 13:36

I’m huddled on the sofa feeling like shit and freezing cold. Took my second dose of MJ on Thursday evening, yesterday was congratulating myself of how well I was feeling. However middle of the night was woken with cramps and spent an hour on the loo with violent diarrhoea. Also slightly panicked as had I not been at home when it happened, there was no way I would have held it in. Reminded me of my brief flirtation with orilast in the early 2000s. I’m also losing quite fast - 7lb in 10 days so also starting to freak out that my gall bladder will object. More positively, my stomach is deflating!

Thanks for the new thread x

Springflowers3 · 08/02/2026 14:17

Thanks for the new thread.
Hello to the new joiners and sympathy to those still struggling with horrible side effects.
And a hug for @notcomfortable , was sorry to read your update about Teddy.

I delayed taking it for a few days last week as it was my birthday and had family staying. Still had less food and drink than I would normally and was really desperate to take the next dose.

Have lost another 2lb which was a pleasant surprise so 11lb In total - a large cast iron skillet. Mine is very heavy so I’m rather pleased with that.

I’ve had the golden dose and sort of wishing I’d ordered the 5mg but still getting good enough suppression so will see how the next month goes.

Still really enjoying eating more mindfully and healthily and really I don’t want to go back to how I was eating before.

Good things I’ve noticed - my ring comes off easily now and my boots don’t feel so tight on my feet; everything feels less swollen and really hope this means it’s having an effect on my blood pressure.

Is anyone else noticing nice effects, not just the result on the scales?

InstantRegret · 08/02/2026 14:43

For those of you that have used the golden dose…did you extract from the pen into a syringe using one needle then use a second fresh needle to inject? Or did you just use the same needle on the syringe to extract then inject?
I’m basing this on the syringes/needles that were very helpfully posted by someone on thread 2 I believe.

Sorry if that’s a silly question!

Ralphiesaurus · 08/02/2026 15:03

So my body is officially weird at weight loss. I knew this already from previous SW times but this morning was next level. Yesterday I was disappointed to weigh in at 90.5kg... again. Then this morning: 87.3kg?! I moved my scales around a few places in case the floor was on a slant (!) and can basically say 88kg was the consensus. So 5lb overnight?! 😮I know I went up a dose on Wednesday but that's crazy! Anyway... means I have lost just over a stone in five weeks, so I am v happy with that.

Sorry to hear some are struggling with side effects😕

Springflowers3 · 08/02/2026 15:12

@InstantRegret

I just used the same needle and it was fine, it didn’t look bent which was what was suggested in that post in thread 2. I couldn’t see easily how you would change the needle. It is longer than the one with the pen but didn’t hurt.

InstantRegret · 08/02/2026 15:32

Thanks @Springflowers3 that’s good to know. I plan to order the syringes/needles soon 🙂

Since January?! Or are you visiting us from another thread? So impressive.

YellowStockings · 08/02/2026 16:12

@Perimenoanti well I was all set to keep going on the smallest dose but I found myself snacking on crisps earlier so perhaps moving up to 0.5 is needed! I guess it's the first therapeutic dose so it might be good - but then I'd like to see if I can stay on it as long as possible. Hoping that side effects won't be too bad because I've got more than 0.25 in my system from jabbing more frequently... Need to reorder ASAP as I've only got two doses left and I'd like to take one today or tomorrow. I guess if I hate 0.5 then I can order needles to split the dose?

Perimenoanti · 08/02/2026 16:36

@yellowstockings yes. At times I am dead set on moving up but then im not sure. No week is exactly the same. Some weeks have been harder than others. But this low dose isn't really supposed to do much so to stay on it for three months seems a bit much.

By weds (jab day) I will think i can't wait to move up and by Saturday I will think its all good still as im not even sure I eat enough.

Bonus effects for me - my running has improved a lot in the last two weeks. Having 9lbs less of me to lug around really has made a big difference, and I’m hoping it’s going to carry on getting better as I’d love to be able to run as well as I did years ago (albeit accepting that I can’t make myself younger, but the weight I can do something about!). Also finding that my clothes fit better (still holding off for another few pounds in trying on a pair of jeans that nearly fit me last time I tried them on!), same as you my ring is getting looser, but my arthritic knuckle keeps it from coming off 😆. I think also my skin might be a bit more glowing, probably due to all the water I’m drinking!

I did my 5th bonus dose on thursday by turning my pen for 5th time it worked easily.
My next Pen is 5mg I am going to do 3.33mg 40 clicks to get 6 weeks and then will try again for the final 5th dose.

My partner now knows about it as I said I was going to give it a go but then we haven't spoken since so he was unaware. Because I was asked out right, if I was going to use them, I was honest. He really didn't seem bothered, not sure why I was so worried, unless its going to be a delayed reaction.

Lillipops · 08/02/2026 17:37

@YellowStockingssorry no lol, it’s been a year 🤦‍♀️

Perianth · 08/02/2026 17:57

@Springflowers3 other positive effects? Yes! I feel better than I have in years! So much so I’m wondering if I was pre-diabetic before I started. I have SO much more energy. My mind is quieter too - yes, there’s less food noise, but I’m also finding stressful thoughts are less intrusive too. I have two kids who are both going through difficult times, and I have been worrying a lot, but I now feel more settled and in control of my thoughts about the situation. I’m sleeping better. I’m not falling asleep in front of the TV every night.

Downside is I really miss having a decent poo! 😂

Peachypips78 · 08/02/2026 17:57

Just under two weeks on wegovy and still no effect! I’ve ordered the next dose up for next month so I’m hopeful. Feel a bit sad looking at everyone’s weight loss.

Springflowers3 · 08/02/2026 18:28

@Perianth a good poo - I’m also missing that. There’s only so much prune juice and chia seeds I can have in a day.
