The only side effect I have noticed is that I am farting less 😂
Less regular on going to the toilet as well which does scare me as I had this as a side effect last year and would only go once a week.
I've read some horror stories on here of what could happen to you so I think I need more fibre maybe? But I don't feel constipated, I just don't have the urge to go

This had made me lol because you have just made me realise I have been farting significantly less too. The only real impact of 2.5mg for me!

Springflowers3 · 11/02/2026 22:19

I’m also much less farty and have had no ibs symptoms since starting five weeks ago. These are very welcome side effects. I do clearly need to increase my fibre - more chia seeds and prune juice tomorrow with my overnight oats for lunch.

Also same as needing the toilet less. Not constipated just not needing to go several times a day! 😆

How long were you going on 2.5mg?

I had 5 doses of 2.5mg, first dose was Jan 2nd.

Perimenoanti · 11/02/2026 22:59

This stuff is weird. Did 7th injection on the lowest dose today. You'd think i was desperate after feeling absolutely ravenous yesterday. No. I had to remember to take it just like I had to make a conscious effort to eat. It works, but there is v little rhyme or reason to the pattern during the week.

It makes me wonder how much of my appetite is emotional as I did struggle with a few things the day before. I definitely cannot say that supression is highest on x day and has nearly worn off on by jab day.

Still no clue if I should move up next month.

Perianth · 11/02/2026 23:37

@ThisAmusedPoet try looking here for maintenance dose pharmacies that will accept patients with a lower BMI. monj.co.uk/maintenance-price-list-for-mounjaro/

totallyfrusted · 12/02/2026 07:05

So I took my first 5mg of mounjaro yesterday and oh my goodness I am feeling terrible.

started feeling nauseous yesterday afternoon and couldn’t even manage a slice of toast last night. Have woken up feeling dreadful with added diarrhea on top of the nausea.

im working from home today but have a really busy day so really not looking forward to it. I’m trying to stay very still at the moment in a hope it will subside.

any thoughts on what I could do to help with nausea. Even a glass of water feels like a struggle at the moment

Not sure what to suggest, but could you try to eat something plain? If you didn’t eat much last night, you probably need something. Plain biscuit? A little bit of toast? Couple of bites, then same in an hour?

notcomfortable · 12/02/2026 07:50

Pepto bismol will clear that right up
Drink something with electrolytes in it
Don't worry about eating just now
Hope it clears up for you xx

totallyfrusted · 12/02/2026 08:22

Thanks, I’m just making myself a cup of tea. I’m feeling marginally better but still very nauseous.

Will pop to the chemist and pick up some pepto bismol.

looking at the bright side it may help with the weight loss

Feeling miserable as my weight is the same today as it was on Sunday when I did my 7th (3rd on 5mg) jab! Plus I only lost 0.5kg last week.

I’ve got my period this week. Does that make the weight hold on?

I was hoping to be at 70kg by the end of the month, which now seems impossible 🙈

namnamnam22 · 12/02/2026 08:51

Done my 6th 2.5mg jag yesterday then ended up coming down with what I think was some sort of horrible bug.. projectile vomiting, dodgy tummy. Feeling ever so slightly better today but gonna just focus on keeping water down and maybe a few bites of toast here and there

You're doung great. Im a similar starting weight and goal weight and have lost similarly, and am delighted with myself! 0.5kg per week is a great steady loss.

I'm trying not to weigh too often, but have done every day this week! Monday has been my official weigh in day, but it was a tad disappointing so I tried again on Tuesday and was much happier with the result, only to see the number swing wildly the other way yesterday, but today I'm a whole two pounds lighter. All that to say, our bodies are quite mysterious and all sorts of things going on under the bonnet! Try not to focus too much on the numbers, think about how you feel (I certainly feel much lighter and less like a lump dragging myself about!), how your clothes fit (I've moved from the outermost hooks on my sports bra to the tighter ones), find those parts of your body that feel noticeably less podgy and soft!

Instructions · 12/02/2026 14:33

I am not sure about weight because I haven't weighed myself in a couple of weeks, but I am wearing a pair of trousers today that I could not do up a few months ago. And they fit comfortably! I put them on by accident (dressing in the dark so as not to wake up my husband whose alarm wasn't set to go off for ages) and when I got to the bathroom and saw which ones they actually were I was so so pleased.

Hettar · 12/02/2026 15:42

My weekly update

Week 5 done and still on 2.5mg

SW: 17 st 8lbs
CW: 16 st 3lbs
GW: 12st

Total loos to date: 19lbs

The week has been fine. I'm not sure how much the MJ is actually suppressing my appetite and how much is just me being in a habit of eating healthy.

I think this is the longest I've ever gone without sugar. Even when dieting previously I always gave myself a treat.

I think the initial enthusiasm has gone and now it's just the daily grind. I've still got a long way to go.

CatNoBag · 12/02/2026 17:32

That's a great loss in 5 weeks @Hettar! I can sympathise with the grind - I'm the same in that I haven't eaten any sugar since I started, whereas I'd normally allow myself the occasional bakery treat.

I'm in a good routine of healthy eating and have a rotation of meals that I know work (and that are adaptable for DH who doesn't need to lose any weight!), but when I think ahead I get a slight dread. January and February I tend to hibernate and stay home anyway, but I have a couple of things coming up in March that make me worry about losing control (so far I'm just avoiding situations with food + other people!), and April is likely to involve being away from home a bit. With slow and steady loss (as I'd want it to be), I'm looking at sticking at it until September, or possibly even longer if I end up taking some mini breaks when we travel later in the year. I have to try not to think about it too much, and just focus on the here and now, otherwise I get a bit glum!

Hettar · 12/02/2026 18:14

Thanks @CatNoBag

I'm happy with the loss but there's such a long road to go.

I think it'll take me to September to reach my goal weight and then there's maintenance and possibly loose skin issues.

But it'll be worth it to be healthy again and able to play with my kids. My little boy is always asking to play football and tennis with me. I do play with him but get tired after 10 mins.

YellowStockings · 12/02/2026 18:18

@CatNoBag I've also got some lovely things coming up which will involve food over the next few months (including a mini break to Paris in the spring), but I'm trying to see it as a nice opportunity to really enjoy eating something delicious while knowing that I'll likely be on WLI for a long time. No way am I not going to eat a delicious buttery croissant every morning!

Rather than this being a crash diet which I'll rebound from when I stop, I'm viewing the jabs as a tool to help me generally eat a) less and b) better. I'm still eating a small amount of 'treat' food if I fancy it (good quality dark chocolate, small slice of homemade cake, things like that) and I think it's making it feel more achievable as a long-term habit shift, if that makes sense?

(This might also explain why I'm losing more slowly than lots of others on this thread though lol - halfway through week 6 and I've lost just over a stone, which I'm still delighted by!)

FrothyCothy · 12/02/2026 18:42

Feel bleurgh today - ate bread at lunch as ran out of Greek yoghurt which is my usual go to, so don’t know if that’s just sitting heavy in my stomach. Had fajitas for dinner (minus the wrap) so the spice probably isn't helping either. Under cals but no gym so far this week as work is insane and been feeling ropey. Must try to get there at least once before Sunday to keep my good streak going!

BooptotheFloof · 12/02/2026 20:26

Evening everyone

I’ve been awol for a few days - really getting frustrated with myself

I was so sure I could cope with staying on 2.5 but I have absolutely no suppression and no motivation to keep going

I am still keeping under my calories but today that included 4 biscuits and definitely not enough vegetables

I have 2 doses left of my 2.5 pen - can I just use 2 x doses in one go and go up to 5mg today?

Then do the sensible thing and order a 5mg to start next weeI?

goldylock · 12/02/2026 21:01

@BooptotheFloof

That seems like the most sensible option and what I'd do in your situation. Time to try the 5mg.

Am just about to jab the 5mg for the third week and the past week has been a dream/ideal with good supression and no side effects-if it could only continue like this always...(I've prob jinxed myself now).

bookwormcrazy · 12/02/2026 21:24

@BooptotheFloof If you can get a 5mg pen ready for your next jab then that sounds like a sensible option. I only had any adverse affects on my first 5mg pen in the first 24hrs and it sounds like nothing compared to what others have been through on any of their pens so you may as well give it a go.

Springflowers3 · 12/02/2026 21:48

@YellowStockings
I’m doing the same with having a bit of a treat in the evening. Really enjoying a couple of squares of good dark chocolate in the evening and some wine at the weekend. Having healthy but tasty food during the day and don’t feel like I’m on a very harsh diet. This feels so much more sustainable and I really don’t want to eat and drink like I was before.

BooptotheFloof · 12/02/2026 22:07

Thank you @bookwormcrazy and @goldylock - I just needed someone to agree with me!

I have been increasing my snacking and I know I am going to fail if I don’t increase the dose

I think I was initially spurred on by someone I saw on YouTube - but she obviously has a ton more willpower than me!

Jabbing two lots of 2.5 tonight then 🎉
