A supportive, idea-sharing thread for those with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. We're a mixture of newbies, nearly theres, there and maintaining and we know what it's like to have what can seem like a mountain to climb - but we also know we can do it!

Nothing is off topic except referral codes 😊

@RobinEllacotStrike posted this link: https://www.gimmesomeoven.com/seed-crackers/

I more or less followed it - stuck some milled flaxseeds, chia seeds and general mixed seeds in a bowl. I didn't blitz them - just soaked them in hot water - added bits of water in to make a stodgy mix and then left it for about an hour to soak. And I added a few squirts of syrup, as I have a ridiculously sweet tooth..!

Then spread onto baking paper in a really thin layer on a baking tray. Baked at about 175 degrees for 20 mins, then flipped the mix over and did another 20 mins.

The 2nd side burnt a bit around the edges, so I'd do a few minutes less next time.

It's turned out crispy and really tasty - and I'm hoping will help with constipation..!

Seed Crackers

This healthy seed crackers recipe is easy to make, packed with nutrients, and SO incredibly delicious. You're going to love them!

Must try those seedy crackers sounds yum! Savoury version with some marmite in maybe for those who like it?

RobinEllacotStrike · 19/05/2026 15:58

I've also blitzed a packet of rocket in water in the nutribullet and used that as the seed soak water - adds nice flavour. (idea from someone on Instagram)

Good evening everyone. I’m completely new and hoping to get some sound MN advice, please. 14 stone, 5’4 and need to lose 5 stone. Post menopause. Went to a party at the weekend, saw the photos and cried….this has been a long time, and three children, plus a divorce, coming.
I’ve done the Juniper assessment and they say Wegovy. I have no clue what the difference between that and other WLI is? I am on HRT but otherwise no medication or conditions. I’d be so grateful for any advice on what other people think is a good starting place. I cook from scratch and don’t eat sweet things but do like wine 🫢 TIA

ShrankLastWinter · 19/05/2026 22:06

Congratulations @peonym! What lovely news! Our first thread baby 😆😍

RobinEllacotStrike · 20/05/2026 13:03

I am now taking THREE medications that have the side effect of "constipation" <sigh>

I'm throwing everything at keeping regular!

peonym · 20/05/2026 14:16

Thanks so much @ShrankLastWinter! Hard to believe!

@Thecomedyclubim not too sure what the difference is if I’m honest, did Juniper give any reasoning? I chose MJ at the time as it seemed to be the most effective, but that was in 2024 and now I’m back on it I’m not sure if other options are better but I just went with the devil I knew!

MooBaggage · 20/05/2026 16:25

No weight loss for me for a week, but I'm feeling good. I'm doing yoga every day, eating good stuff and drinking 3 x litres of water a day. I feel healthy and on the right track, so just have to accept that this final stone is going to be a slower process...

I have a spreadsheet that I made over a year ago, that predicted when I'd lose the weight I wanted to. I created it based on losing 4lb a month in these final few months, but I think I'm going to alter it to 2 or 3lbs a month, so that I don't get disheartened. I have learned that this process is equal mental health and physical health strength, so need to be kinder to myself re: the pace of change for this final stone.

So instead of reaching target by September, I'm thinking maybe December - tiny in the grand scheme of the rest of my life!

🙂💪💪💪

Sounds sensible @MooBaggage

Zebracat · 20/05/2026 16:56

Very sensible, @MooBaggage . Not easy though. I did really well last week, but then went away and relaxed a bit and then caught a horrible cold, so I know I’m probly going backwards. Not eating much, but barely moving, and my body needs exercise or nothing shifts. I just took the dog out which is more than I managed yesterday. just gotta roll with it.

ShrankLastWinter · 20/05/2026 18:22

Very sensible, Moo! You’ve got rid of all the really unhealthy kilos already, so going slow and healthy with a good diet and exercise for the last stage sounds like an excellent plan. I say this partly cos it’s what I did 😆

RobinEllacotStrike · 20/05/2026 19:30

Very impressed with your daily yoga @MooBaggage 🧘🏼‍♀️🙏🏼

my yoga practice adds more to my quality of life than anything.

JanetCollingwood · 22/05/2026 21:27

Love threads like this because having loads to lose can feel really lonely sometimes 💛 I’m a mum too and started Mounjaro through an online weight loss programme, and honestly I’ve just been trying to focus on small changes instead of turning my whole life upside down overnight 😅 Little walks, smaller portions and being a bit kinder to myself has helped loads so far.

Today I am another pound down so 1stone9 since I started MJ in March but...
3 stone down since I started cutting sugar in March 25.
I'm so pleased. I'm still on 5mg and will stick with that at least another month.

Reginaphalangeeeee · Yesterday 18:24

Happy sunny Saturday everyone. I’m recovering from my skin cancer surgery. Feeling a bit sorry for myself, so the scales staying still this week also hitting a bit harder. Think being sore and not sleeping well and being hormonal also a factor.
I know I’ve been eating right and I have picked up the running so sure there will be more loss. But frustrated this surgery will slow me for a while.

Trying hard not to have a pitty party today & hope to feel better again soon.
Good luck to you all in this hot BBQ weather -gosh crisps are easy to inhale aren’t they!!

ShrankLastWinter · Yesterday 21:17

Glad to hear you had your surgery now, Regina! Even if recovery is a bit grim. Hope you’re feeling much better soon xx

SecondCircuit · Yesterday 21:17

@Reginaphalangeeeee - please look after yourself now, do not worry about losing, eating right etc. Surgery was a priority and glad to hear it’s done now. Take time to recover and don’t rush things.

Great news @MoneyJo ! Stay on low dose as long as you can. You’ll be still losing I promise.

I’ve had a busy day today digging for my summer clothes. Not any summer clothes but those from 15-20 years ago. Boy, am I glad I’ve never chucked them away. They all fit again and it feels amazing. Some are brand new with tags attached, lots of linen, great Gap tops and a few totally démodé items like small graphic pattern cigarette pants (maybe I’ll give them a few years?😅).
I’m absolutely thrilled to be back in shape for the summer season. Well - just to be back in shape. I still have 5-10 kg to lose to be 22-23 bmi, and must remember I’m 20 years older, with bigger saggier boobs that have stubbornly stuck with me, but it already feels amazing.

I can’t drink though now. We went out with friends today but I managed only 2 small glasses of wine. Mounjaro killed the will.

Reginaphalangeeeee · Yesterday 22:38

Thank you both. Yes glad to be other side of surgery rather than the waiting.
Not really sure why I am feeling so low tonight and quiet alone. I should be taking my weekly MJ dose tonight, and maybe it would help me cool
in this hot weather. Not sure why I am stalling on it as done 70jabs now!! Maybe because I already feel not great mentally and sore from surgery, it feels another thing. Don’t get me wrong I am so pleased to be on it and for the wonders it’s done but wish I could just eat like a normal person without it. I’m 7 stone down and still obese BMI 31.
before surgery they weighed me and it said 1.5kg more than my scales at home. They did my height and somehow I was 1-2 cms less than I have recorded so BMI even higher on records 😔

MoneyJo · Yesterday 22:46

Thank you @SecondCircuit and great news about fitting in your old clothes. Speedy recovery to you @Reginaphalangeeeee

Zebracat · Today 00:10

@Reginaphalangeeeee my dear, it would be a bloody miracle if you didn’t feel down. You’ve had a horrible diagnosis , and surgery. And the general anaesthetic is a depressant. you probably have stress hormones whizzing about. And it must feel so shit that you’ve worked so hard to improve your health and then got cancer.
But you have lost 7 stone! It’s such an achievement. Leave the jab till tomorrow. Think how much worse that hospital process would have been if you were 7 stone heavier. I hope you have loving people in your life, but the main thing right now is to love yourself. Lots of fresh fruit and protein, keep drinking the water, Teeny tiny steps.💐💐💐

ShrankLastWinter · Today 02:58

@Zebracat is right!

Hope you’re having a good night now.
