A supportive, idea-sharing thread for those with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. We're a mixture of newbies, nearly theres, there and maintaining and we know what it's like to have what can seem like a mountain to climb - but we also know we can do it!

Nothing is off topic except referral codes 😊

Thanks @MooBaggage

MabelSpan · 29/01/2026 15:46

Thank you @MooBaggage 😊

Darlinghag · 29/01/2026 15:57

Thank you @MooBaggage - checking in.

Crew, I feel I have my MJ mojo back. I’m very close to back to my low weight and my routine and tracking is elite the last 12 days!!

GiveMeWordGames · 29/01/2026 16:27

Hello! Checking in. Thanks @MooBaggage .

MabelSpan · 29/01/2026 16:46

Well done @Darlinghag that is great to hear. I, however have completely lost the plot, hence no posts from me for ages 🙄

YellowStockings · 29/01/2026 16:52

Thanks @MooBaggage

RobinEllacotStrike · 29/01/2026 17:18

Thanks Moo.

I've been on these threads since July 24 - thread 2!!

And honestly they have been my delight & support through losing 48 (or so) kilos.

Thank you all for the advice, support, & the reliable sanity checks. You have all helped me so much on this wonderful <coughs uncomfortably> journey.

RobinEllacotStrike · 29/01/2026 17:19

@Darlinghag - bloody well done, I could do with some of that.

I've still not sorted out any tracking & I need to start.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 29/01/2026 17:58

Checking in - thanks @MooBaggage

UnimaginableWindBird · 29/01/2026 19:03

Thanks for the new thread @MooBaggage!

I'm almost 5 months in, and I've lost 19 of the 37 kg I want to lose, so in terms of effects, even though probably not time, I'm half way there!

dimples76 · 29/01/2026 19:08

Thanks @MooBaggage . Very grateful that I came across these threads last year.

Alltheyellowbirds · 29/01/2026 19:14

I followed the last thread, may jump in on this one? I reckon I have exactly five stone to lose.

Started MJ three weeks ago, Stirling first week with 10 pounds lost (water weight I know but still felt great) but no weight loss since. Pushing through and trusting the process! Will go up to 5mg in a week.

QueenOfHiraeth · 29/01/2026 23:39

@MooBaggage Thanks for new thread

@Darlinghag Please send some mojo my way too! I am stressed and struggling. Was really pleased not to have gained over Christmas but have floundered since under a combination of elderly, unwell mother, lots of travelling to and fro, having to deal with family, etc so have stress eaten even though I know I am not hungry and have gained 1.5kg Angry
I'm trying to take small steps and drink more, eat more sensible meals, more protein, etc rather than get back to tracking as I suspect that might tip me over the edge.
Great reading everybody's tips and support though. You are all inspirational!

maz99 · 29/01/2026 23:49

Hi everyone...! Thanks Moo...!

coeliacsucks · 30/01/2026 00:39

Has anyone had any complications from wegovy? Ian awake with a band pain under my breast area that’s pretty severe. I don’t have my gallbladder but the pain is similar

dimples76 · 30/01/2026 07:12

@coeliacsucks hope that the pain has subsided. I recently switched from mounjaro to wegovy. The only side effect I am experiencing is diarrhoea and nausea which I also experienced when I started mounjaro. I am hoping as with mounjaro that it will stop in a few weeks ...

YellowStockings · 30/01/2026 09:20

@coeliacsucks that sounds horrible, I’m on wegovy too but haven’t had that (though I have had the odd random pain that before I’d have attributed to bodies being weird but now I assume everything is a side effect 🤦🏻‍♀️).

How are you feeling now? Which dose are you on?

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 30/01/2026 10:25

Finally I seemed to have cracked my never ending plateau

SW 15 stone 12 lbs / 222lbs / 100.4kg
CW 9 stone 13lbs / 63.3kg / 139lbs
BMI started at 41.4😱 now dead on 26.
Loss to date 5stone 12lbs / 37.4kg / 82 Guinea pigs

Revised GW to reach a BMI of 25.0 is 9 stone 7lbs / 60.8kg / 134lbs as when I put a new swimsuit on this week it was not a pretty sight and even accounting for lose skin there is a bit around the middle still to come off.

So 5lbs /2.5kg to go and hears hoping that the eight week plateau is cracked.

So fingers crossed my next 10mg pen will definitely be my last as I have my 7.5mg stash to work through.

RobinEllacotStrike · 30/01/2026 10:37

Dear Women - it has happened!! I am BMI "Healthy" <bows>

After a bit of a woosh this morning I weighed 73.5kgs. My BMI is now 24.6 "healthy".

I looked back at Thread 2 and I wrote this on one of my first posts shortly after starting MJ:

"I've just realised I've got no idea what a healthy BMI is - I've been over 30 for at least 20 years I guess & I'm currently 40.8
Seeing XXX post about a goal BMI of 21.5 it hit me I've no idea what my "heatlhy BMI" would be.
The calculator seems to be saying I need to be between 70 & 73 kilos to be in the top of my "heathy weight" range. I'm shocked. That would mean losing 50 ish kilos which is a whole person."

SW 124kg
CW 73.5kg
Loss to date 50.5kgs

SBMI 41
CBMI 24.6

I would say losing the 2nd 25kgs took over twice as long as losing the first 25kgs. I did it without counting calories, though I plan to count calories in maintenance. Its been slow compared to others but i am 58 and I think things slow down. Looking back, for me it has been perfectly paced. Overall, it has been pretty easy. I've gone on holidays, festivals, celebrations etc - all through this process I had much fun, lived my life and have been pretty relaxed. I've not stressed about food. I have eaten 100's of pomegranates & kiwis, gallons of greek yoghurt and uncountable nuts.

The best of all for me has been establishing a regular exercise habit. I always enjoyed yoga, but getting on my mat 6 times a week since November 24 has been just as lifechanging as losing fifty excessive, unwanted & unneeded kilos.

I don't think I've been a healthy BMI since my mid teens.

Keep going!

RobinEllacotStrike · 30/01/2026 10:44

When I say I've "always enjoyed yoga" I hadn't done really any regular yoga practice for over 20 years apart from the occassional odd class at the gym I attended very rarely the last 4 years or so.

YellowStockings · 30/01/2026 10:45

@RobinEllacotStrike CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I can't imagine how amazing you must be feeling, I hope you can do something lovely to celebrate. I'm very happy for you.

You (and all the others here) are so inspiring, thank you for sharing your journey and encouraging newbies like me.

RobinEllacotStrike · 30/01/2026 10:52

Actually I happen to be going to a fabulous party tomorrow night - a 60th birthday. I haven't seen my friend since I was at my fattest and he is in for a surprise.

The party will be mostly gay men, champagne, a private room in a fancy restaurant & then dancing till we drop. I will wear my fab gold dress & faux fur coat (from work Xmas party) and feel like a million dollars.

What perfect timing!

SecondCircuit · 30/01/2026 10:57

@RobinEllacotStrike - what a wonderful post. Huge congratulations !🏆

I am half way I think and bracing myself for a tougher second part. I’ve already noticed a slower , more stubborn pace of losing, exactly like you describe. The first losses were easy. But I agree with you and others- life is for living, we need to appreciate each stage.

Keep on going ladies.

mounj1 · 30/01/2026 11:00

Can I join in. I started a year ago next week

SW 400 lbs (28 st 8 lbs)
CW 307 lbs (21 st 13lbs)

I've no goal weight in mind as I've been overweight my whole life. I was started in WW aged 15 at 13 1/2 stone and it's just kept getting worse since. I've never lost more than a stone or two in WW / SW / Unislim / Cambridge diet etc.

I had a plateau when I went to 10mg, and lost nothing for about 2 months. Now I'm on 12.5 and it's kicked in again. I'm still way overweight but I'm not discouraged at all as I can see that it's working.

RobinEllacotStrike · 30/01/2026 11:01

halfway is massive - I guess you are really seeing & feeling that loss now.
But yes the 2nd half may be slower - settle in, stay calm,be patient & keep going.

Where I am now was formerly unimaginable for me and yet the time passed, the plateaus come & go, I just stayed calm & kept going.

You've got this x
