I hope it’s okay to start a new thread as we are getting dangerously close to the end of thread 1

My current stats are

MJ 2.5mg just taken dose three
planning on staying on 2.5mg for my next pen
SW: 13 stone 9.4lbs
Week 1: lost 11 lbs
Week 2: lost 3 lbs
Total weightloss: 1 stone (a small jack russel terrier)
GW: 9 stone 7

We have some newbies joining mid month so let’s cheer them on - we’ve got this ladies!

Thanks for the new thread! Just wondering what apps people would recommend to track their weight loss? I’m writing it in a diary at the moment (very old school 😂)

I’m writing it in a notebook - I’m old school too! 😂 I hate having too many apps so I limit them.

I use nutracheck, you can log up to 5 food items for free but then you have to pay. I don't bother with any of that and just use the 'progress' tab in the middle
They email out little trophies for each stone lost

goldylock · 19/01/2026 10:40

Day 5 of Injection 3

Taste still isn't normal, but I weighed myself this morn, and have 1/2 stone gone, with 1.5 stone to go.

So, will use this as a positive and keep plugging away, even without taste buds. This week is quite busy with tennis.

Just to add to those who are making comments about side effects (or lack of), the taste thing didn't happen until the third dose. So, be aware!

I felt different/better/lighter on the court last night. How easier it is to move when not lugging around extra weight.

I'm using an app called Happy Scale - I've been using it for a few years. I think I have the paid version, but the basic is good enough!

FrothyCothy · 19/01/2026 10:47

We have a Renpho scale that’s then linked automatically to other apps like MyFitnessPal so updates them all wherever I weigh in.

Hi Jan jabbers!

I come here to offer advice I wish i was given when i started on MJ in July 2025.
Firstly, no regrets! Lost over 3 stone and feel more like myself again. Now i'm starting to taper off very slowly as I try to increase my exercise (i've done none!) and rely less on the appetite suppression to lose the final 2 stone.

Secondly, hair loss does happen around the 3-4 month mark for many of us but not all. It scary and it can make you panic but please be assured, it's a natural reaction to significant or sustained weight loss and calorie deficit. It will stop and it will grow back. Also, for many of us, no one else even notices.

The advice i wish i was given at the start of my MJ journey was to make sure you keep your protein up there. If you struggle with food quantity many of us decided to use the MyProtein Whey Clear (Not affiliated at all). It's low calorie and is like drinking a cup of diluted fruit juice (think iced peach tea texture and strength). Also, take your multi-vitamins! All this will likely help and I wish I had known.

Anywho, there's my two cents. Best of luck to you all!
I'm happy to answer any questions if you have them

xx

CatNoBag · 19/01/2026 12:00

Love the username @MtKiloMounjaro, and thank you for the tips!

I've been using MyFitnessPal to count calories, but also keep an eye on the balance of things like protein intake etc. Mainlining Greek yogurt seems to be a big help! I'm trying to hit 120g or protein a day, but rarely make it to a 100g so extra protein powder might be the answer. I'm also taking so many pills each morning I'm starting to rattle 😂

TwistedOrange · 19/01/2026 13:29

I have today received my first wegovy pen, I’m excited but also a bit nervous and apprehensive. I’m also worried about feeling sick, we’re out in London on Saturday for an show and I am concerned about feeling unwell so not sure whether to wait until Sunday to start.

bookwormcrazy · 19/01/2026 13:44

I will be doing my 3rd jab later today so here is my updated stats

SW - 15st 11lbs
CW - 15st 6lbs
GW - 10st 5lbs

so 5lbs in 2 weeks is not bad. Although I have been super healthy and tracking food etc and some of that is Christmas excess. I am now back to what I was the last time I weighed myself in the summer last year so hopefully from here on it will actually feel like I am losing weight. It was my post Xmas weigh in that kick started me as I thought I was still the same as summer.

Thanks for the tips! Im taking a protein powder supplement, a shot of collagen, fibrogel, magnesium and vit d. Are there any other vits or supplements you'd recommend?
I was just thinking this morning how well my hair was looking (only on week 2, so looking for the small wins). Im on wegovy, is hairloss associated with all wli, or particularly experienced by those using mounjaro?
Thanks again for checking in and giving us newbies a steer!

I was worried about a similar thing when I started as I had a show in London - but I also know what I am like and would probably have kept putting it off because of something else to wait for, so I just bit the bullet and did it. Everyone reacts differently but I was ok.

I started wegovy 2 weeks ago. I occasionally feel nauseous at the gym, and have been rather bunged up without a fibre supplement, but otherwise have had no side effects.
I picked Wednesday evening to jab so that any immediate side effects might wain by the weekend, but also in the hope that any suppression might not yet have waited (i find it much easier to control my eating on weekdays).

Good luck with it x

TwistedOrange · 19/01/2026 13:50

Thanks both for your experiences, I will ponder today and see later!

Springflowers3 · 19/01/2026 14:13

@MtKiloMounjaro many thanks for the advice. I’ve ordered nutritional yeast and will look into the whey stuff you recommend.

Day two of third MJ and really feeling appetite suppression for the first time. Had lunch out two hours ago and hardly had half of my salmon and scrambled eggs on toast. Feel completely full still. Home now having a herbal tea instead of a coffee and Tunnocks caramel wafer. I love it.

Has anyone slowed down when they eat?
I’m usually a wolfer of food but I just can’t eat that quickly now. I’m savouring it more too. I’m sure this will help my digestion hugely.

You're welcome :)
So it's not the weight loss drug (wegov or MounJ) that cause the hair loss, it's just the body's reaction to sudden weight loss. I think it's a combo of that plus it's so hard to get sufficient nutrition while on the jabs because we just don't get as hungry or get full so fast!

I take Well Woman + daily and Bare Biology collagen. I'm not sold that collagen actually does anything but i'll finish the tub i have ;)
Now that i know my iron is low, i'm actually taking a therapeutic dose from the Dr.
BUT i will say that from all the research i've done, if you iron is low then the typical 15mg included in daily vitamins will not raise it it will just maintain it where it's at.
side note: there are also vegan clear proteins from the same company if that's your jam :)

xx

Hi all, well done on all the loses so far 🎉

I took my 3rd jab on Wednesday night and felt very off all weekend. Woke up today feeling so much better but more hungry!! Anyone else had this? 4th injection not until Wednesday evening! I have ordered 5mg now form MedExpress was a bit of a faff but once prescribed arrived quickly and was impressed they enclosed a sharps bin and booklet! Previous provider didn’t send either!!

My dh knows I'm on it , I asked that he was sat next to me when I did my 1st jab as I was scared .
For those that have kept it quiet from your partner's , how are you storing it

I am storing it in a drawer. As you can store at room temp after first dose.
Its the ordering and them not noticing that I struggle with.

Etherealcelestialbeing · 19/01/2026 14:46

Seems I was right to worry about my digestion! I have a very bad stomach (day 3 after first dose) and so have had to stay home from work. I am holding a tiny bit of hope that it’s a bug and not Mounjaro related as DH said he also doesn’t feel great today.
Anyone that has had d&v - did you manage to keep eating at all? I feel like I need something for energy but - TMI - it’s going straight through so I’m not sure there’s any point?!

It’s great to get tips from those further ahead - thanks for sharing!

I don’t have a partner, but don’t want my teens to know, so I’m getting mine from Boots, because I can collect from the pharmacy. When I did need to keep it in the fridge, it was in a box of tonic water tins, because they wouldn’t open that🤣.

YouBelongWithMe · 19/01/2026 14:56

First full day at work for me since starting.

Took my caramel latte in from home and enjoyed it at 9am. At 11.30am I had a small portion of the homemade oat/chia cocoa pudding I made. 1.30pm had a bowl of homemade lentil and veg soup.

Planning to have creamy salmon and green veg pasta tonight.

👋 I like questions lol
I was at my goal weight, I had lost a total of 30kg, I'm only 5'2
I stayed on 2.5 for two months and then went through the doses
But I only got as far as 10, as the price hikes were coming and every tom dick and Harry were stock piling and I struggled to get an order. Plus my hair was falling out rapidly so I just gave up.

I had changed my habits, made really good choices, going to the gym and even had a home gym built.
Then my life went topsy turvy and I turned to food as a comfort, thought I'd only gained 7kg back but it was actually 11 😳😳
And now here I am
As I don't have much to lose this time around I think it'll be a slow slog but I'm also hopeful I can get myself back to those good habits.
And yes I would agree, don't rely on suppression to get you through because within 72 of being off the injections it hits like a freight truck.

But this is accountability! 2026 is the year I am healthier and be involved in photos! 💪
Although my life is already in a bit of a wreck considering I failed probation and lost my job but I need to keep making small positive changes to not end up back in this situation x

Hi, I’m 7 weeks in and my hair is a mess. Dry, covered in split ends and strands of it coming out when I wash. I’ve lost 14lb so not a crazy amount in 7 weeks, trying to keep it slow and steady and I’m taking lots of vitamins, did your hair go back to normal when you stopped jabbing? I’m abit gutted because it’s taking me years to fix my damaged hair after years of bleaching.

Hi. I am so sorry
Have you been to the gp to rule out if you are low in iron? As that can make your hair fall out too
Sorry to say but no, it hasn't stopped falling out. It is starting to grow now though x

FrothyCothy · 19/01/2026 15:30

Looking forward to jabbing tonight because it’s fair to say my suppression has evaporated 😬 not eaten a lot but what I have eaten was certainly not nutrient dense
