I hope it’s okay to start a new thread as we are getting dangerously close to the end of thread 1

My current stats are

MJ 2.5mg just taken dose three
planning on staying on 2.5mg for my next pen
SW: 13 stone 9.4lbs
Week 1: lost 11 lbs
Week 2: lost 3 lbs
Total weightloss: 1 stone (a small jack russel terrier)
GW: 9 stone 7

We have some newbies joining mid month so let’s cheer them on - we’ve got this ladies!

Tbh I'm debating just stopping again.
I woke up about 1am thinking oh I'm a bit peckish, thought I could just go back to sleep and wait but by 3am my stomach was rumbling
Came downstairs and inhaled 4 chocolate digestives, a sandwich and a yoghurt 😳
I might as well not be on them, I also haven't lost any further weight (Not surprised given what i eat) but it seems pointless, very deflated

Are you still on the first pen? For mounjaro, the first pen isn’t technically for weight loss, it’s for getting your body used to the medication. I think the 2nd pen of 5mg is the first “therapeutic dose” for actual weight loss but many people see results on the 2.5. I’ve been doing my research as I am seeing mixed results on 2.5 and was debating whether to go up which I will.

bookwormcrazy · 20/01/2026 08:40

@notcomfortablesorry - just seen you were on it last year.

Blandpedant · 20/01/2026 09:23

Anyone else suddenly got side effects in week 3? I had no issues in the first two weeks, but suddenly have had two days of sulphur burps and then up all night last night with diarrhoea 😫 Don't really want to eat anything now, just trying to find something plain that doesn’t turn my stomach

I literally came on here to post the same! I’ve had no side effects until a few days after jab 3 and I’ve now got heartburn and an upset stomach. I’m debating ordering another month of 2.5 rather than increasing to 5. I’m determined to stick with it though.

Rubytoes · 20/01/2026 09:44

I've just taken dose 3. I had lost 5lb in week 1 and just over 2lb in week 2. We had a family birthday last week where I indulged a bit. We don't eat out often so I didn't want to be too restrained, it always feels a bit killjoy to turn down birthday cake when it's just a few times a year. Although we also have another birthday at the weekend! But then about 4 months of none.

I've not managed to start exercising, though I've walked more journeys where I would normally have taken the bus. It's hard to fit it in as all my spare time is going into OU study now. I have some videos of 25 min workouts which I could do at home.

Whatstfpoint · 20/01/2026 09:44

I'm glad now I am doing another month on the lowest dose. Only in the last few days have I felt it is working properly, i.e. significantly slower digestion, limited hunger and lots of supression. And my 4th jab day is tomorrow! This time last week I was starving.

I haven't but I have read its quite normal
Pepto bismol to settle the stomach and for the burps, hope it settles soon x

Perianth · 20/01/2026 10:27

I also have side effects this week @Blandpedant (week 2 for me) - terrible headaches day and night, night waking for hours, fatigue (maybe because I’m awake half the night!) and some food noise back.

I’ve also caused an old shoulder injury to flare up by trying to do some exercises so all in all I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself today.

I've been doing a 7 minute jump about thing every morning as the first thing I do (once I've put a bra on 😳). This is the one I do: https://www.instagram.com/p/DRTw7RkiAtW/?img_index=1 - she has other similar ones on her page. My thinking is that I can't change everything in one go, but I can manage 7 minutes in my morning which I'm going to try and transition to doing 20-30 minutes of yoga some mornings in February. I heard on a podcast about habits about a guy who'd go to the gym every morning and just stay for 5 minutes. The idea was establishing the habit that he was someone who went to the gym first, and then the exercise would follow!

Electrolytes are meant to be good for headaches if you can get some

Ralphiesaurus · 20/01/2026 11:44

Due to do jab #3 tomorrow, and have already bought my next pen at 5mg, although seeing how many of you have sudden side effects at no 3 I wonder if that was wise! Finally seeing an actual loss on the scales, by which I mean a loss recorded two days in a row. (I have severe IBS - so my weight can fluctuate a lot from day to day.) Thankfully I am finding I have very few side effects so far and no additional digestion issues beyond what I already cope with... !

So my stats are:

SW 14st 12lb
CW 14st 8lb
GW 12st 7lb

Blandpedant · 20/01/2026 11:57

Sorry to hear others have also had late side effects, but I have to confess it makes me feel better that I’m not alone! Hope we all recover soon. Thanks for the tip @notcomfortable I’ll stock up on pepto bismol.

@CatNoBag I think the guy on the podcast talking about gym habits might have been my husband 😂 Was it one of the Van Tulleken twins podcasts?

CatNoBag · 20/01/2026 12:02

@Blandpedant I'm a big Van Tulleken fan, but behind on my listening so will listen out for your husband! It was actually my husband who heard it and passed it on to me, on Huberman (he hangs on his every word!) interviewing the guy who wrote Atomic Habits. I get a lot of Huberman wisdom passed on to me, I haven't got the time or patience to listen to three hours of (usually) men rambling on about something that could have been 5 bullet points 😂

Blandpedant · 20/01/2026 12:06

@CatNoBag Haha! I will check it out!

Rubytoes · 20/01/2026 12:10

Thank you @CatNoBag that sounds like the sort of thing I need. I definitely need to get over the block of not having time for a 1-2 hour workout and just get something going!

My side effects have not been too bad so far, mainly nausea but I've stayed on 2.5g for my next order.

FrothyCothy · 20/01/2026 12:12

I follow Henley Fitness on instagram (she’s fab) and she is a big believer in just tell yourself you’re going for 5 minutes. Most of the time you’ll end up staying.

i ended up splitting my gym routine right down into 4 separate sessions and usually no more than 3-4 exercises per session. Trying to do more was off putting as it was taking too long. Now I can go, do my 3 sets of 3 or 4 exercises, and home in an hour, or I can cut stuff and not feel so guilty about it if I have less time.

blackandwhitefluffycat · 20/01/2026 12:14

Still no side effects with jab 3 here, thankfully.

My leg/ back pains and aches have been confirmed as being due to my new HRT patches, as I put the new one on my hip and…yes, now my hip is aching rather than my back 🙄 It’a a common side effect apparently but I’m hoping they stop soon as I’m going on holiday in a couple of months. I didn’t have any of this with the gel/ tablets!

HollywoodTease · 20/01/2026 12:14

Took my first dose today. Feeling a bit giddy but I think that's nerves!

Anyhow, stats:

SW 99.8 kg
WL 0
1st GW 90kg
Final GW 60kg

I am 5'1 so current BMI is 42. There's a long road ahead.....

Can I ask where you all choose to inject? I went with my thigh in the end as it's a bit firmer than my wobbly apron belly so easier to get the needle in cleanly.

Has anyone had any differences in effect depending on where they inject? I saw a post above from someone saying she has better suppression when injecting on the right side!

goldylock · 20/01/2026 12:34

Shur ye were warned about the "I've no side effects, go me" and then the Week 3 jab horrors 🤣🤣🤣

Seems (from reading here) Week 1 and Week 3 are the times it might affect most.

I lost my sense of taste after Week 3 jab. Back a bit since yest.

Have one more dose at 2.5 mg and then will up it to 5 mg. Am gonna give it a lash, with or without taste buds.

FrothyCothy · 20/01/2026 12:35

I’m alternating thighs at the moment, as I have a clear view of what i’m doing!

CatNoBag · 20/01/2026 12:50

I've been doing my tummy - it's got a lot of scars so a bruise wouldn't be noticeable if anyone were to get a glimpse of my belly! 1st jab I did get a very tiny bruise, but nothing from the second.

Whatstfpoint · 20/01/2026 12:56

@HollywoodTease I did my left thigh 2x and no issues. Then I did my left arm and it was quite painful. I'm somehow reluctant to do my stomach, probably because I'd actually have to look at it.

I saw a pharmacist on tiktok saying you can actually inject into your bingo wings so might do that. Into the fat and not the lean bit on the top of your arm.

glutenisthedevil · 20/01/2026 13:16

It's interesting to hear that some people who had no side effects in the first few weeks are now experiencing them in week 3. It was the complete opposite for me with a horrible first 2 weeks but now on week 3 and it's been great; I actually feel normal again. I did order a 2.5mg pen for the next one, though. I don't want to risk going up too soon and want to give my body a proper chance to settle first. I'm having steady losses on 2.5mg and am averaging around 1200 calories per day so I'm hoping I won't regret it!

For those suffering, I hope you all start to feel a bit better soon.

intentionals · 20/01/2026 13:52

Another day on MJ another day dashing to the loo…

was feeling ok after a good second week but this week has been bad. Wondering if I made a mistake ordering 5mg for next month

MrTiddlesTheCat · 20/01/2026 13:56

I've been doing my stomach as there's a lot of it to choose from.
