👋 Happy New Year!
Also checking in under a new name (Hint. Your resident wegovy lass).
2026 goal is to maintain and tone up. I’m currently turning my home office into a (sort of) home Pilates and weights studio.
Happy with my size (12) and bmi ( 23.5), but need to build up some muscle.

Ohhhh thread 6 already! Loving the steady state of statis statement to start the new year 😁

Nearlyhadenough · 06/01/2026 20:43

Still here and following all of your fabulous Christmas and New Year updates.

I lost 1/2lb over Christmas week and put on 1lb this week. Expected more so happy with that.

I’m about half a stone from goal and have changed over to a different pharmacy that is good for maintenance in anticipation of getting there reasonably soon.

wendywoopywoo222 · 06/01/2026 20:54

Thanks for the new thread 😊

Coffeeandallthebooks · 06/01/2026 21:14

Thank you for the new thread!

WI today and I've gained a pound since I last weighed but that was all the way back on 11th December. I found Christmas hard, but I've just moved up to 10mg so fingers crossed for a good start this year!

Scousebloke · 06/01/2026 22:54

Hi and thanks for the new thread. Still jabbing and ive lost 4 stone now with a bmi of 26.5 x

Coventree · 07/01/2026 08:17

Damn, wrote a post and lost it! Up and down like crazy over Christmas but overall 3lb lighter today than 7th Dec so I’ll take that 😁.

Fresh start for the new year, 1 stone to go to get into healthy bmi and give me some flex 💪, then work out how to maintain.

SW 15st 4lbs
CW 10st 9lbs

Hope everyone’s having a good first week back with schools and work, etc.

violetmondays · 07/01/2026 09:44

Happy new year everyone! A bit late I know but have been checking in with the thread over Christmas and lovely to see everyone’s updates and how well things have been going for most despite illness (hope everyone is better now?) and festive food temptation!

Just thought I’d pop on with a quick update re maintenance over Xmas.
Main caveat is that I am still taking a low ish dose of MJ (3.75mg), although I went 10 days between doses over Christmas as I was away and didn’t want the hassle of taking it with me.
Weight was a little up and down (2 or 3lb up max) over Christmas but seems to have settled at 9st 9lb which is actually 1lb less than pre-Christmas. I don’t know how I have managed this as I’ve pretty much eaten/drank what I’ve wanted including cheese, Baileys, wine, mince pies, Xmas pudding, pigs in blankets and all the good stuff but in smaller amounts than previous Christmases.
1 ‘rule’ I have set myself is not to have second helpings of anything and I think I’ll take this through maintenance and hopefully continue as a life change. Not sure how that will work when I stop the MJ but it’s definitely helping me not to over eat at the moment. I also limit myself to a couple of chocolates at a time rather than troffing the whole box like I might have done previously.

I’ve only got 2 doses left in my current pen and I’m still toying with buying another as I feel quite anxious about stopping completely. I’ll have to decide this week really!

PeachSnail · 08/01/2026 07:56

Hello and happy New year to all those who have not posted for a little while - nice to know you're still here and doing well! 😊

Argh... Just sharing some news about the potential to pile on the weight after stopping the jabs.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c050ljnrv2qo.amp

Though apparently these study results come from clinical trials Vs real life experience. I wonder if the results would be the same if people have personally paid small fortunes to achieve the weight loss? I know the cost will be a strong motivator for me to keep the weight off in the longer term!

A woman, wearing bright red nail polish and unbuttoned blue jeans, injects herself into the skin and soft tissue of her lower abdomen with an obesity jab pen.

People coming off weight-loss injections risk fast weight gain - BBC News

Overweight people shed large amounts on jabs but gain 0.8 kg a month on average once off them, study shows.

Seahawk80 · 08/01/2026 08:30

Hellllooooo! I’ve been absent for a while. Life has been crazy busy and I got to the point where I didn’t have time to catch up! I skim read 952 posts on the old thread last night! Congrats to everyone on the losses and reaching maintenance!

Happy belated birthday @Coventree(think it was you!) my fellow late Dec birthday!

I lost my mojo a bit and had been hovering around 10st 13 for a month. I haven’t jabbed since mid Dec as decided to have a few weeks off, it was my birthday, Christmas etc. I’m delighted to say I maintained and still weigh 10.13. I felt like I had what I wanted, ate in moderation and felt good!

I need to decide what to do now as I only have a 2.5 pen left that I had saved for maintenance. As pp said I thought about getting a pen in Dec before the Jan rush but I was too busy! Anyway I was all set to restart the jabs on Tuesday and thought I’ll use the 2.5 as I had a break. I ate healthily and as I would in MJ sun and mon but just wanted to give my body a chance to process the booze, unhealthier food etc. on Monday afternoon I had a terrible stomach ache, I managed to get through work and pick up my son but then went to bed. I was convinced it was pancreatitis as the pain location was right but it wasn’t agony / stabbing pain. I was going to to call 111 if it got worse / didn’t go overnight but luckily it did. It’s scared me a bit now as the last thing I want to do is slow down my digestion. I think I will wait until Monday just to make sure it was a random one off and then start again on 2.5. It was so strange, when I say un healthy food I just meant I had a chicken burger and chips for lunch at the pub, still had healthy breakfast and light dinner and booze wise just a few glasses of wine, so it’s not like I was eating everything in sight and drinking to excess! Hopefully it was a random one off as it was not pleasant.

Happy New Year and hope everyone is having a positive start to 2026!

Hawkmoth · 08/01/2026 09:10

Managed to check in on the old thread, but here now!

Merlin23 · 08/01/2026 13:28

PeachSnail · 08/01/2026 07:58

Though I also came across another article saying that eggs could help with transitioning off the jabs... I'll definitely be giving this a go!

https://theconversation.com/how-eggs-can-help-you-come-off-wegovy-cracking-the-problem-of-weight-regain-271883?utm_medium=article_clipboard_share&utm_source=theconversation.com

Be wary as to who did the research as it it quite often people paid by the companies.

Coventree · 08/01/2026 20:00

It was, thank you @Seahawk80 and I hope you had a fab one too!

Yeah, deciding what to do about another pen is on my mind too. As of today I have one unused 5mg pen left and have been on 10mg for most of Dec, followed by a couple of 7.5mg doses. I’m still a stone away from where I want to be, but it’s not a great time of year to put more money on the credit card. I might see how I go with a few 5mg doses then potentially a couple of 2.5mg to see the pen out 😬

Merlin23 · 09/01/2026 08:32

Weigh in day
1lb gone
SW 202lbs 14st 6lbs
CW 126lbs 9st
Total loss 76lbs 5st 6lbs
I took my jab last night 5mg Next week I'm going to go down to 2.5mg
I am now lower than I ever imagined I would be.
9 stone was a dream weight. I can't believe I got here.
I'm currently reading Weightless by Dr Salas-Whalen about GLP-1 medication. I wish she had written it 1 year ago. So much education about the weight loss jabs and how to use them and how to maintain.
I am definitely going to up my protein. I now have body composition scales so I can monitor fat and muscle in my body.

Have a great week everyone!

AbundanceofKatherines · 09/01/2026 09:44

Well done @Merlin23! 5st 6 is absolutely incredible 🎉 And well done everyone else too - we got through Christmas. I thoroughly enjoyed it but am glad it’s over.

Thank you for the new thread @Stasis26

I didn’t update last week and have a fair bit of MJ news to share. You might remember that I decided to go “cold turkey” back in November. I took my last 5mg on 21st November - weigh in 8st 13. I managed quite well - pretty hungry but not unmanageable and continued to lose weight during December despite 2 x work Christmas parties and more alcohol creeping in. On 19th December I was 8st 10.5.

We then had several family events and a house full of Christmas food and booze. I didn’t go crazy (I wouldn’t have that amount of room in my stomach these days), but I did eat a lot more than I have been and certainly drank a lot more.

On Boxing Day my scales read 9st 5.2! I looked at my pens sitting in the fridge and decided to get back on the horse. Took 2.5mg on 27th and felt an almost immediate reduction in appetite.

The Twixmas and New Year period was also filled with social events that involved eating and drinking but I managed to get down to 9st 0.8 on 2nd Jan. My second 2.5mg jab, on 2nd Jan (I jabbed after 6 days as moving back to usual jab day), has been so great - it felt like coming home. The suppression and sense of calm has helped me to remember how amazing this medication is. Food noise gone, constant hunger gone. I have been drinking 2 litres plus tea/coffee per day - something I’ve never done before as I find it really hard to do. I’ve been dry January-ing, taking clear protein and other supplements (collagen, multivitamins, biotin), hitting the gym and the pounding the pavements. I feel amazing! And…

… drum roll please…

I’ve hit target 🎉

This week I’ve seen a 4.1lb loss - 8st 9.7

Last time I was this weight was 25 years ago. Thank you MJ! My younger happy weight was around 8st 3, but apparently older folk (women in particular?) should carry a little more so I’ve allowed 1/2 a stone ish). I still have a fair bit of wobbly fat on my tummy though.

Now to work out how to maintain - I really can’t eat very much without putting weight on.

Hope everyone is enjoying being back in the normal routine - have lovely weekends all xx

Well done @AbundanceofKatherines
It is good to read how you've followed what you need.
As I said I'm reading Weightless
The author says obesity is a disease. We don't need to stop taking mj. If you had depression and felt better would you stop medication immediately. No so why do this for obesity.
She says staying on or using intermittently is fine.
I really recommend this book for everyone. I'm listening to it on an audiobook.

violetmondays · 09/01/2026 10:08

Well done @Merlin23wow!! Amazing that you’ve lost almost 5 1/2 stone and hit your dream weight 🎉🎉

Same for you @AbundanceofKatherinesamazing loss and hitting your target 🎉🎉

All I can say is maintaining surely should be easier than trying to lose the weight, that’s my hope anyway when I finally get off the MJ although I do wonder whether there is more to MJ than just controlling appetite…
