Hi, my first WG pen is in the fridge ready to start on 1st January.

Im 56 (57 in Feb) post menopausal and cancer survivor in remission 5 years nearly. still taking cancer prevention medication that I believe that is hindering my weight loss. I just can't seem to lose it no matter how much I try. It took me 5 months to lose 10lb earlier on in the year.

Im 5' 8" so carry my extra weight well.

Spoke to my friend who works in community health management. Put in a request for MJ and now waiting for it to be processed.

letsdothis5 · 01/01/2026 13:32

@Whatstfpointno agreed, probably not wise at all! But I wasn’t expecting to feel that awful after.

I’m just struggling with the complete lack of interest in any food. I’ve gone from constant food noise and binging and repeating to having zero interest and struggling to even meet 1000 calories. Going to book an appointment with the pharmacist to see if I can lower the dose to 1.25mg

Splitunnoticed · 01/01/2026 14:12

Day 5 and feel good. Food noise disappeared on first day, which was much quicker than expected. I’ve got a plan to eat mainly the same food every day, which is helping to keep enough calories, protein and fibre. ChatGPT is so useful meal planning

FussyFancyDragon · 01/01/2026 17:16

I’ve just ordered my 2.5mg. I’m hoping it doesn’t arrive too quickly as I’m away for the weekend.

BG2015 · 01/01/2026 17:29

I took my first 0.25 WG dose earlier today. My side affects throughout the day have been:
*feeling cold
*headache
*feeling really tired
Ive eaten normally
B - porridge with honey
L - baked potato with beans and a bit of grated cheese
D - broccoli & Stilton soup, small roll with butter
40 minute walk
Digestive biscuit and tea plus 4 pints of water.
Felt hungry too.

Can I join please? Just done my first 2.5mg dose of MJ tonight. Hoping for not too many adverse side effects!

Hi everyone,

I have a fused spine since 2021. My heaviest was nearly 15 stone. I got back down to 13 stone. And scales won't move past.

I am currently 14 stone. I need to loose weight for my back. I do exercise but you can't out exercise eating too much food. What a first world problem...

I don't have the worst diet (I have been to a dietician) but I noticed it takes me 15-30 mins post meal to feel full/my stomach to feel fully. So I over eat. Then within an hour of eating, I'll be getting hungry again.

So, yesterday, I got approved for my Perscription for Monjaro. I will collect it this Saturday, and begin injecting Tues or Weds.

Am very excited to see if this works/slows down appetite.

Good luck to all on this journey. Am going to keep posting here at least for the first few weeks x

Hi OP, I’m strongly considering ordering, also post menopausal almost 3 yrs after cancer, and it’s taken me a year of very hard work and dieting to lose a stone, I have very high cholesterol and a bmi of 27. I don’t qualify through my GP, am I likely to get prescribed privately or do I need to speak with my gp/specialist first?

BG2015 · 01/01/2026 19:21

@Battyfumworts my BMI is 27 and I have high blood pressure and asthma. I got accepted through Juniper. I had to send photos of my medication and agree to informing my GP and oncologist.

Mine is still showing as not sent out yet - I should have ordered straight after Xmas!

I have just had a delicious last meal of roast beef and salad baps and from this point on no bad food will pass my mouth (unless I don’t have a choice ie visiting family etc)

I need to start tomorrow even if my pen hasn’t arrived as the longer I wait the more I will eat in my ‘last meal before mounjaro’ phase!

I tend to only drink plain sparkling water - do people find that a problem as I wonder if that will fill me up and make me even more windy!

Octagoneaway · 01/01/2026 19:23

Evening! Another one starting today (although I haven’t actually done it yet. A bit scared if I’m honest.

I thought I might do it and then go to bed, so if I feel grotty, I can just try to sleep.

Just do it and then it is done! The longer you have the more it takes over your headspace

Good luck!!!

My last meal took three months 😂

Thank you. I will. Is it easy enough? I read the instructions and it all seemed more fiddly than I’d expected.

I was hoping to wait until I have the house to myself as I really, really don’t want my teens to know. But one is here.

@BG2015 thank you, I’ll look at Juniper. I was my ideal weight before cancer, which had been through hard work and perhaps unknowingly having cancer, although my doctors tell me it’s unlikely it was a symptom, so it’s been pretty triggering looking in the mirror and knowing I can’t lose it again as a lasting effect. Do you have a referral code?

BG2015 · 01/01/2026 19:46

My DP helped me walk through the injection. It was fine.

I definitely feel 'off' tonight, did the injection about 9 hours ago. Headachy, bit queasy and SO tired.

Going to watch the traitors and then bedtime.

I was meant to do my first wegovy injection last night. I held off as I gave the flu and don’t want to add anything into the mix. I feel really impatient to get started but also need to wait until I’m feeling better.

bookwormcrazy · 01/01/2026 21:25

I have just placed my first order but know it won’t be processed until tomorrow. I think I am going to wait until the middle of the month to start as my DH starts a new chemo next week and then I have a work trip on the 13th. I don’t want to risk side effects and not feeling great while either of those are happening so I think I’m going to wait until the 15th to do my first injection.

Octagoneaway · 01/01/2026 21:26

Hope you feel better quickly.

My son went out, so I did it. Feeling quite anxious now, but I’m sure that will settle quickly. Hope I feel good in the morning as I’ve got to go out first thing. Eek.

A friend of mine who did this about 18 months ago has been reassuring me that I’m going to feel great and look fabulous. We can do it, ladies!!!

Rbeka1 · 01/01/2026 22:06

👋 Hi,
My pen is on its way and I'm excited/nervous to start.
I've always been overweight but stayed at the same sort of weight, except last year (2025) I've crept up to the highest I've ever weighed, due to antidepressants I was on.
I've really felt it in my body but also in my confidence levels, I've lost all my confidence and don't even like my DH touching me so it's affected my marriage too.
I've seen some of my friends have amazing results with MJ and I don't want to compare my journey to there's but I'm feeling optimistic.
I think for me I've had to reach this point to be serious about making changes.
Is there anything I should be stocking up on vitamins? Fibre? Etc
Thanks!

Whatstfpoint · 01/01/2026 22:25

I think if you aim to eat normally you wouldn't need vitamins. I mostly plan to keep my diet except I will eat less even of the good stuff and will definitely be stop buying chocs, biscuits etc.

I reduced the quantity of everything around covid so I stopped gaining then. It gives me hope that I will very much get used to another reduction in portion size, albeit without the craving pangs that left me yoyoing.

JanetareyouokareyouokJanet · 01/01/2026 22:49

Ive just ordered tonight and am thinking about starting Monday. Very nervous but I feel like I really need to change my life in a positive way. I’m hoping to use it has a stepping stone to the gym etc. good luck everyone

JanetareyouokareyouokJanet · 01/01/2026 22:51

I keep have a recurring fear about hair loss if anyone knows anything about that or if I’m being paranoid.

Justbloodylovecrisps · 02/01/2026 07:00

@sundriftwanderersame, I’m full of an awful cold & I don’t want to do it if I’m already feeling rubbish! It’s lingering though, I’m so impatient haha
