Hi, my first WG pen is in the fridge ready to start on 1st January.

Im 56 (57 in Feb) post menopausal and cancer survivor in remission 5 years nearly. still taking cancer prevention medication that I believe that is hindering my weight loss. I just can't seem to lose it no matter how much I try. It took me 5 months to lose 10lb earlier on in the year.

Im 5' 8" so carry my extra weight well.

Ah, so i just had an email from my provider (VOY) saying that my delivery will be arriving today, which is 2 days earlier than they originally quoted! So excited to start!

I'm off work for another week or so, so I know it said I was going to take my doses on fridays, but I'm just going to go for it today and give myself lots of time to adjust before work.

Urgh I’ve just had an email from my provider saying my HRT might be affected so I have to talk to my doctor before starting mounjaro

So I took my first dose anoit an hour ago. It was the first time I've ever injected myself with anything, so it felt a bit weird psychology, but physically i barely felt it.

I know it's only been an hour but I don't think I'm feeling any different yet. I had lunch at 1ish, so I wouldn't usually be hungry at this time anyway...the information leaflet informs me that it should take about 48hrs for the effects of this dose to peak.

That so helpful thank you! I’ll get in touch with my GP straight away - although if the mounjaro arrives before that - the online GP said double up on utrogestan initially - so I might do that this week rather than halting the process any further!

weighed myself today at work & was 74.4kg, am only 5’1” so BMI 31 🙁 Am usually able to control my weight but my mum died a couple of months ago & everything went out the window.

just need a bit of a boost.

I can see lots of sales offers on injectables so going to see what I can do.

Can I join too please? Ordered today so will start on WG as soon as it arrives. I am wondering after reading this if I should’ve gone for the MJ though…

I lost 3.5st in 23/24 but in the last year I’ve put 1.5st back on and I’m totally out of control again so have conceded that I need some help. I have c2.5-3st to lose.

Just ordered my first ever (Wegovy) pen. Eeek. Feeling both nervous and so excited.

Is anyone starting tomorrow after having some drinks tonight? Im worried that i might get awful side effects if i have a couple of proseccos & an unhealthy meal

I’ve just ordered Mounjaro but wondering if I should have got Wegovy @Isyesterdaytomorrowtoday!

I probably won’t get it until the weekend & will start on Sunday evening.

Fed up of my clothes being tight & all the good work on diet & exercise being undone over the last few months.

I have my BP/cholesterol review due in February so will hopefully shift some by then. And then holiday in April & a cruise in June. So plenty to aim
for. I’d even be happy with a stone!

I think Wegovy is better for long term loss and maintaining - but I’ve gone for mounjaro as I need to see quicker results to start with otherwise I know I’ll get disillusioned and give up

I am hoping mine arrives on Friday so i can start after I’ve been to my MIL for lunch on Saturday

For those who have started already does it matter what you eat in the few hours before - I am not planning to gorge myself but wondering if I should wait until Sunday morning when I know I will be less full!

Oh and Happy New Year….may it be the year we are all happier in our own skin!

Just thought I'd update since taking my first injection (wegovy) yesterday afternoon.

I definitely had a much smaller appetite at dinner time. I had a portion of about half the usual size as that's all I felt like eating.

I wasn't being super strict with myself because it was NYE, so I poured myself a glass of wine but went off the idea after a few sips, opened a box of celebrations but only ate 3, genuinely just didn't want to eat any more! I have been really impressed by the level of appetite suppression.

The only downsides so far are some very mild heartburn and I didn't have a great night's sleep, but I'm not a greater sleeper anyway and I was up a lot later than usual with NYE so that might have thrown me off a bit.

Had a tiny bowl of porridge, chia seeds and blueberries this morning and feel stuffed. I've noticed that i'm drinking tea, coffee and water a lot slower too.

So all in all, very impressed so far!

I'm don't think it does. Mine came with very detailed instructions and videos and nothing was really mentioned.

From what I’ve read they are okay with it as it’s a tool. I’m not sure if I should tell my consultant though!

I had my first dose of wegovy last night. The side effects were instant. A headache and dizziness. I didn't sleep well either. I feel so full. I can't contemplate eating anything. Didn't expect this so soon.

I’m struggling! Had 1/2 a pizza last night, which I struggled to eat and 2 g&ts which I didn’t really enjoy to be honest and then this morning I was sick! Wasn’t sure if it’s from the rubbish pizza and alcohol or from the coffee this morning.

im struggling to even reach 1000 calories, the thought of all food and drink just make me feel sick!

I really really didn’t expect this. Hoping it calms down a bit but I’m not sure 🫣

@letsdothis5 this is what I worry about. Pizza and alcohol probably weren't wise but hey ho. I still have a chilled pizza that needs to go by tomorrow. Maybe I will make half of it today and then only have something v light tonight.
