Bit premature but planning on starting with Mounjaro in next week or so.

I’ve struggled with my weight for the majority of my life and despite having periods of being within the realms of ‘healthy’ weights, these have been difficult to get to and v hard to maintain. I’m now keen to sort things out, once and for all before I’m 40. (Given myself a buffer as currently 36…) 😅

Hiya all! Coming up on end of first week for me, 2nd jab tomorrow morning. I am still feeling the suppression benefit but today, Saturday evening, am having a wine with Strictly and although I am only sipping slowly, I am enjoying it. So all good!
Enjoy the evening everyone!

Elizabeth49 · 04/10/2025 19:32

Welcome to all the newbies.

I did my first jab (moujara) on Monday evening so today is day 5. My appetite has come back a bit, not fully, but it is noticeable. I work from home and weekdays are my weak days as I tend to snack so Monday works well for me.

What apps are people using to support their jab? I have started using nutracheck.

jaelato1 · 04/10/2025 19:56

@Shitzngiggles I do struggle with 1200 cal. I am usually within 900 to 1100 max but I make sure I eat enough protein and fibre which I suspect might be helping with my energy level.

jaelato1 · 04/10/2025 20:01

@Elizabeth49also felt little food noise on day 5 evening. Weekends are weak days for me so I take my jab Thursday night as I work mon to Thurs.
I currently use weightly to track my jabs

Enjoy your wine, I’m sort of looking forward to 2nd jab day tomorrow. #loser 🫣😅

Is anyone else struggling to get in all their daily calories? I am and it's affecting my energy levels. I'm managing to drink enough water and had hardly any side effects. Never imagined it would work so well.

I am on week 1. For the first few days I was eating hardly anything. But now on day 5 and my appetite is back.

Nandina · 04/10/2025 23:16

I'm eating about 1,000 calories, mostly because I feel I should be eating a certain amount. Not sure if that's right.

cheekysausage123 · 05/10/2025 08:09

Just done 2nd jab, and first week weigh in is -3.8lb, which I’m very happy with. 🥳

Amazing! Well done.
How have you felt and have you changed your weigh of eating?

Ive just done my first jab, not sure why I was so nervous, it was painless and easy. Phew! ☺️

cheekysausage123 · 05/10/2025 09:14

I’ve felt fine thanks @RachSt12- I’ve eaten within a calorie deficit but it’s fairly high (1700kcal) as I’m 5ft 5.5 and fairly active… I need to prioritise fibre and protein more this week, and more water! Haven’t really changed what I’m eating as try to eat quite a balanced diet anyway but portion sizes are definitely smaller.

Glad your first jab went ok!

@cheekysausage123I was looking forward to jab 2 as well Blush just done it now and DH has done his. I have lost 3.6lb Grin

My renpho tape measure battery is gubbed so I tried to measure myself manually but the readings are significantly bigger than last week so I will order a new battery and try again when it arrives. I don’t look or feel bigger so I think it’s how I am doing it.

@RachSt12 glad your first was painless and easy! Congratulations on starting and good luck!

@NandinaI agree we need to be eating a certain amount. Also we need to get used to choosing wisely to prioritise protein and fibre and the healthy fats so that this becomes a way of life.

@jaelato1I am the same, it was to reach 1200 especially on the first 4 days after the jab and sometimes 900 or so was the most I could have.

I use My Fitness Pal to track because I paid for it for a year but I wish I had looked at others as loads of people say Nutracheck is good.

@RachSt12 well done on your first jab. I was petrified last week jabbing for the first time but didn't even feel it. Have a great first week.

jaelato1 · 05/10/2025 13:38

@cheekysausage123 @Calyx72 Amazing, well done to you both!!

I’m not counting calories but definitely eating less which makes me more tired. Have you had any electrolytes as they will help with energy levels x

I also actually managed wine last night too, the first week I did my jab Monday had wine on the Saturday and felt dizzy, heart was pounding and felt sick I couldn’t drink it 😩 x

Elliebearblues · 05/10/2025 15:02

What jab is everyone on… I did 4 weeks on Wegovy and have lost nearly 7lbs. Did feel a bit rough week 3/4 though.

Tomorrow I start Mounjaro nervous about the side effects but also excited to get started x

Yes I think maybe its the fibre I'm struggling with.

@Shitzngigglesnot me, but I am a piglet. 😂😅 I think it’s not uncommon for some people to find it suppresses them more than others.

Yes I'm really surprised the suppression and stopping cravings are working so well as I'm normally a piglet as well.
