Bit premature but planning on starting with Mounjaro in next week or so.

I’ve struggled with my weight for the majority of my life and despite having periods of being within the realms of ‘healthy’ weights, these have been difficult to get to and v hard to maintain. I’m now keen to sort things out, once and for all before I’m 40. (Given myself a buffer as currently 36…) 😅

SW: 14st 7lb
1st GW: 13st

Here for support, tips and anything else helpful along the way. 🫣

@Elizabeth49well done on hitting the first stone off!
I started with juniper and have to say they are excellent, I changed to bolt as came in cheaper but wish I’d stayed with juniper as they do offer discount if you threaten to leave, wish I’d stayed!
I go with the cheapest now and managed to get 7.5mg for £196 from get a drip, but, the customer service & website awful, still
waiting for the prescriber to authorise!

What did you like about Juniper? I have heard their app is good for support? I am losing weight but I am conscious that I need to change habits long term and wondered if a fancy app like Juniper would help

IamIfeel · 11/11/2025 10:12

I'm down 1st 2lbs now. Mines a bit slower than others but I'm ok with that, as long as it's going in the right direction I don't really care how long it takes.

I'll reinforce what others have said about activity, it absolutely makes a difference. I do try and fit in 10,000 steps a day and I try to make those "worthwhile" so either one or two longer, faster paced walks rather than just mooching round the shopping mall, but if I can only manage a 15/20 minute walk a day, that's better then nothing.

Clumsykitten · 11/11/2025 10:37

Week 4 weight in and I’m down 6.2kg/ just under 14lbs. My weight yesterday was slightly lower actually but I’m trying not to take the fluctuations to heart! I know it’s not real and my trend is down.

First 5mg dose this evening, feeling a bit anxious about it, but am sure it will be fine!

I’m starting to work out when I’m getting hungry and just going for sugar/grabbing something. In that way, I think the lower dose has been helpful, as at first I simply didn’t want to eat. I may go back to 2.5mg if the higher dose is “too strong”.

Wow - That’s a lot for the first month - congratulations! 🎉

Is there a reason you didn’t opt to stay at 2.5 since it’s working so well?

Yes! I thought about it, but I’ve got a long way to go, and I have definitely plateaued. I’m not sure if it’s the right decision TBH!

You could try 3.75mg first, before going up to 5mg.

I think I’m seeing all these high weight loss numbers and feeling like I’m not really doing enough!

I have kind of just followed what the pharmacy websites say, week 1-4 2.5mg then 5-8 5mg. I did my reorder for 2nd jab today at 5mg but now I am doubting myself.

I am only day 10 so not sure how last 2 weeks will go. Lost over 7lb as of today so could well plateau but I am now thinking if I keep losing I shouldn't jump up?

HighlyUnusual · 11/11/2025 11:55

@Clumsykitten all I can say is that you just have to go with what your body can cope with and what you can do. I'm a very slow loser. That said, I've lost 1kg so far- proper weight loss, not water weight, it's taken 5 weeks to achieve that!

I am not too despondent about the slow weight loss, I prefer to lose pretty slowly due to skin elasticity (take collagen too) and also I don't have much choice!

I do mind the side-effects on MJ, I can't remember if they were worse on Wegovy or better, but I'm finding the extreme tiredness and nausea pretty awful and am wondering if it's worth it for me personally.

I am not going to stick on 5mg, but drop down to 3.75 next week and see if that works better in terms of the side-effects/losing balance.

I have less to lose and am very short, so little to play with, so big losses are not expected.

I just think- I couldn't even lose 1kg by myself, I've lost and put on that one 1kg so many times last year, so losing one and keeping it off and going down further is an achievement.

Don't be discouraged if the meds are working for you.

But a stone in one month is loads!

A healthy rate of weight loss is generally considered to be 1 to 2 pounds per week. This gradual rate is more sustainable, helps to preserve muscle mass, and reduces the likelihood of putting the weight back on.

I’m going at a similar rate to you - we’re rocking it lady! 🙌

Not trying to be critical here - just sharing my own perspective x

You're absolutely right. There's nothing "wrong" with the high numbers but it's worth remembering these big drops usually only happen initially for some people too, then it eases off. 1lb a week is really good, sustainable weight loss as well. X

Clumsykitten · 11/11/2025 13:39

Thank you all. So much encouragement and good sense in all your posts!

@StrongLikeMamma- you are right! We are rocking it! My life and health have been a bit ropey for such a long time (and I have young kids) that I honestly have no idea about half the side effects (the nausea and headaches the first week were obviously that but the tummy issues and tiredness could be anything!)

I think I’m imagining a future where I can exercise more regularly, don’t have to feel self-loathing if I catch sight of myself, and feel good!

@Moosey898- I think I’ve got to remember that although my weight always used to fluctuate, the key thing is the trend is downwards even slowly. And 1lb is just 400-500g and you are right that this is a good amount, if it’s real not just dehydration!

I had a small but delicious omelette with cheese and a nice big salad for lunch today. The more I can do to eat homemade, and not too carby, the more I know I will lose but also it’s going to make me healthier too? Right? 💪

Clumsykitten · 11/11/2025 13:48

@HighlyUnusual- I’m interested in your comment about skin elasticity… if I’m as successful as I hope, I’m definitely going to need to think about that! Does collagen help? Also, 1kg, a real 1kg that isn’t water and has stayed off is an achievement!

HighlyUnusual · 11/11/2025 14:06

I can only say for myself, some reports of collagen say it doesn't work, but I found last time out that taking collagen (I rotate between fish and vegan Feel one) seemed to help, or at least, it helps my joints anyhow and my facial sagging wasn't getting worse. I'm post-menopausal so don't have the bounce-back effect of being younger, I know it's not a main concern for many and you can't worry about everything.

Moosey898 · 11/11/2025 14:13

@Clumsykitten love the attitude 🙌🏼 small steps all add up and you're absolutely right, it's all about the trend.

Omelette for lunch sounds yum 😋 I'm a big fan of omelette. And yup absolutely, eating a balanced diet can only help improve health for the long run ☺️

Clumsykitten · 11/11/2025 16:22

Thanks @HighlyUnusual- I might give it a go!

We are strong @Moosey898💪

Just as I know people are always looking, I’ve just used a different pharmacy (Pharmacy2U) on Monj for my 3rd order, it’s been approved and dispensed on the same day and is currently showing as cheapest for my 5mg jab (with a £90 discount code available on Monj).

No referral code or anything, just recommending!

Some great losses, well done everyone. I've lost 1st 2 lbs in the almost 6 weeks I've been on it. Consistently losing 2lbs a week now which I'm happy with.

How's the side effects for everyone? I had been doing ok getting away with only minimal side effects. However last night I was sick after feeling extremely tired all day. I've been on 5mg for 2 and a half weeks. Just hoping it's only a temporary blip because I had been feeling great.

Wow that’s amazing losses, I’ve lost 6lbs in 5weeks not a great deal but it’s slowly coming off x

Elliebearblues · 11/11/2025 18:53

VioletandMauve · 10/11/2025 06:51

3 weeks in and I’ve lost 8.5lbs. Over the moon is an understatement! I’ve got 3 stone in total to lose (2.5 now!) so I’m very happy with that start.

Slow and steady wins the race 😊

That’s fabulous well done x

Weigh day after 5 weeks in.
SW 129.3 kg
CW 117.3 kg
TW 100 kg
Lost another 2kg this week woohoo!
This is going all too well! I ordered a 5mg pen but might short dose as I've had no side effects at all on 2.5mg and have lost 12kg in 5 weeks so don't want to mess things up by going onto a higher dose too soon.

Amazing, I’d say if you’re feeling fine and having good losses which you are I’d stay on 2.5mg x

Good morning. I hit my 1 stone loss this morning after 6 weeks of jabbing. Only another 3 to go.

What pharmacies are you all using to get your jabs and what support does your pharmacy offer (if any). I have been using Curate who are cheap but there is no online support. I have heard Junipet offer online support

Wow amazing loss well done x

You’re doing fab I’ve lost a measly 6.6lbs in 5 weeks. I’ve not been doing my usual steps or gym though due to a bug and virus so even losing weight I suppose is a bonus as I’m not active at all for the moment x

Am I the only one that sticks to same pharmacy on prescription basis then? I just checked their 5mg and its almost £50 cheaper to the one I just ordered 🙀
The only reason I am stuck with current pharmacy is because they also do maintenance (even when at healthy BMI). Do you have to go through the whole form and picture process everytime you use new pharmacy? if yes, dont think I can be arsed lol

WegoGirl · 11/11/2025 19:37

I am doing a new pharmacy every time I order as I am happy to take a few photos for £50. That said it was a bit of a faff ordering my most recent batch.
