Bit premature but planning on starting with Mounjaro in next week or so.

I’ve struggled with my weight for the majority of my life and despite having periods of being within the realms of ‘healthy’ weights, these have been difficult to get to and v hard to maintain. I’m now keen to sort things out, once and for all before I’m 40. (Given myself a buffer as currently 36…) 😅

SW: 14st 7lb
1st GW: 13st

@UtahYellowstonei need to lose 3.5stone to be in the healthy BMI

Just took my second jab and I am feeling very mild stomach cramps but the suppression seem to have kicked in quite quickly this time. Got me dinner infront me and I'm just staring it while typing lol

Nandina · 02/10/2025 17:59

I did my first dose this morning. I feel the same as usual, no side effects yet. Hoping to lose 3 stone. I'd be delighted with 2 lbs a week. Do most people track their calories daily too?

Calyx72 · 02/10/2025 19:47

Started on Sunday at 177lb (12stone 9lbs) size 18
Today’s Thursday and I have lost an initial 3.2lbs (likely to be water I know)
Would like to get to size 10/12 as I am fairly short
not sure what weight that would be! Maybe 130-135lb or thereabouts

Calyx72 · 02/10/2025 19:48

@Nandinayes I track calories and I think most do (not everyone)

cheekysausage123 · 02/10/2025 21:31

Hope you managed to eat something @jaelato1

I’m tracking mine @Nandina, currently working on a calculation of TDEE minus 500kcal which is about 1700kcal for me, at the moment. Hope you continue to feel fine!

I’m day five of my first week and would definitely say suppression isn’t as strong as it was although I’m not particularly hungry. 2nd jab is due on Sunday.

@cheekysausage123 similar calories goals as me and I’m not finding it suppresses my appetite much, due 2nd 2.5 dose in Saturday, I’m also going to change suppliers as I found the 5mg £50 cheaper, how soon can your order 2nd higher dose do you think?

i have a full sugar Coke addiction can’t stand any artificial sweetener and I’m really hoping MJ will help me quit but it’s so so hard.

not sure what everyone’s starting weight is but I started at 15st 6 and only 5ft 4!

jaelato1 · 03/10/2025 09:36

@cheekysausage123 I did manage to eat eventually.

@NandinaBased on suggestion from my fitness pal, I am eating 1200 calories a day because I'm only 5'0 tall. I thought I'll struggle but i adjusted quite quickly.

TheChosenTwo · 03/10/2025 09:39

Ahhh you guys! Clicked on this thread thinking it was the 2024 one that I’m on and so excited for you all starting out on your weight loss journeys.
I’ll leave you in peace as I’m almost at exactly one year of starting but wishing you all the very best, it was the best decision I ever made and 6 stone down and finally at the weight I always suspected I should be at I owe a lot to MJ and science!
Onwards and downwards to you all 🥳

cheekysausage123 · 03/10/2025 09:40

@narcASD Also been pondering myself when to order next jab as think I’ll also be changing suppliers… don’t want to go for 5mg if I’ll find the effects too much but equally don’t want to be injecting 2.5mg for it to be doing nothing, I’ll take a view this time next week maybe… that’s really hard regarding the Coca Cola, no real advice but you’ve got this, are you weaning off it or still drinking it at the moment?

Wow that's an amazing weight loss, well done.

UtahYellowstone · 03/10/2025 11:04

I dont really count calories but aim for about 1000 a day. Im 5'6 so not short really.

Today Iv had a couple of slices of bacon and a egg for a brunch. I feel really full though from it!

I use MFP too and am trying 1200 calories. Sometimes that isn't enough for me to lose weight normally so I'm keen to see if the Mounjaro gives my metabolism some kind of boost as well as appetite suppression.

Shitzngiggles · 03/10/2025 14:29

So 2nd day today and can't believe how well its working already. Normally I'm ravenous about an hour after eating but had breakfast this morning about 9, haven't felt hungry at all have only just made some lunch of scrambled egg. I'm literally just picking at it, so weird and no food noise at all which is very unusual.

RachSt12 · 03/10/2025 16:52

My order arrived today and I’m planning on starting on Sunday.
Reading everyone’s comments is really inspiring, so big thank you ☺️
Sounds like MFP is good for tracking calories. I did my TDEE and minused 500 cals (I can’t remember where I read to do that, so hopefully correct!), so I’ll be on around 1200 cals a day.
I also read somewhere to drink LOTS and lots of protein.

Excited to hear how week one went for those people that are nearly there.

narcASD · 03/10/2025 17:33

@cheekysausage123 sadly weening off it, down to 2 cans a day, now the weather getting colder it should help, I don’t drink alcohol so it’s my comfort.

i think 3 more weeks on 2.5 should prepare for me going up, not really had any side effects through, have you?

Ah ok, well done on the weaning!

Same, I bit the bullet this eve as found a good offer with MedExpress using a discount code so went ahead and bought the 5mg so at least have it ready…

@RachSt12 welcome! Almost at the end of week one here, it has been all ok, slight constipation but that’s it really. Due to inject my second jab tomorrow. Lots of luck for tomorrow.

Hi, can I join along. Took my first jab on Wednesday and definitely feeling the suppression and some side effects. I’m 37, 83 kgs and 5ft 4. Look forward to following everyone’s progress, hints and tips!

Elizabeth49 · 28/09/2025 11:21

Hi all. My jab arrived on Friday so I will be starting this week. Just trying to work out which is the best day of the week is best to jab. Weekdays are my eating days as I tend to eat loads the days I work from home.

I noticed on Wegovy the jab wore off around 5/6/7 day mark so maybe do the jab on a Sunday so you get the full suppression effect for the weekdays then x

Elliebearblues · 04/10/2025 15:37

Hi all, can I join you please? I’m 44 have 5 children. I’ve tried so many diet clubs over the years and now I’m at my heaviest weight. I started at 13st 1 and have lost 6lbs in the last 4 weeks. I would like to lose about 2/2.5 stone.

I originally started on Wegovy 4 weeks ago and have felt pretty rough on it. I’m swapping to Mounjaro next week and am hoping the side effects aren’t so bad. I’ve heard their not meant to be as bad so fingers crossed 🤞

jaelato1 · 04/10/2025 16:13

@Elizabeth49 @Hsmall Welcome onboard!

Week 2 day 2 and no side effect so far. Had an initial mild stomach Cramps for an hr after 2nd jab. Energy level is also very good. Struggling to consume the daily 2ltr water lately...

Shitzngiggles · 04/10/2025 17:40

Is anyone else struggling to get in all their daily calories? I am and it's affecting my energy levels. I'm managing to drink enough water and had hardly any side effects. Never imagined it would work so well.

cheekysausage123 · 04/10/2025 18:12

@Shitzngigglesnot me, but I am a piglet. 😂😅 I think it’s not uncommon for some people to find it suppresses them more than others.
