Bit premature but planning on starting with Mounjaro in next week or so.

I’ve struggled with my weight for the majority of my life and despite having periods of being within the realms of ‘healthy’ weights, these have been difficult to get to and v hard to maintain. I’m now keen to sort things out, once and for all before I’m 40. (Given myself a buffer as currently 36…) 😅

Good luck I’m starting my 1st MJ jab tomorrow evening as I’m having a drink tonight and don’t know how it’ll effect me x

@cheekysausage123I was looking forward to jab 2 as well Blush just done it now and DH has done his. I have lost 3.6lb Grin

My renpho tape measure battery is gubbed so I tried to measure myself manually but the readings are significantly bigger than last week so I will order a new battery and try again when it arrives. I don’t look or feel bigger so I think it’s how I am doing it.

@RachSt12 glad your first was painless and easy! Congratulations on starting and good luck!

@NandinaI agree we need to be eating a certain amount. Also we need to get used to choosing wisely to prioritise protein and fibre and the healthy fats so that this becomes a way of life.

@jaelato1I am the same, it was to reach 1200 especially on the first 4 days after the jab and sometimes 900 or so was the most I could have.

I use My Fitness Pal to track because I paid for it for a year but I wish I had looked at others as loads of people say Nutracheck is good.

Well done @Calyx72thats fabulous! And well done to your OH too.

I use Nutracheck, just because I already had it from before but also using Shotsy to record jabs, it’s free for most features and seems quite good.

Just done my first jab. Let’s do this!!!
side note, is everyone using the Mounj app for recording weight? Or is any app a good tool for a timeless?

Well done to those who've had a loss already and welcome to the newcomers.

the bloating has subsided a bit, thank god, I injected my thigh this time, I’m trying to up fibre and drink more water

Caledoniablue · 06/10/2025 08:25

Hello all!

Checking in! Just weighed at the end of week 2, and jabbed for the 3rd time.
SW 12st 12
CW 12st 5
GW 9st 7

How is everyone getting on? I'm finding suppression so strong for the first 5 days, then wearing off slightly for the last couple. Had a rare child free night on Saturday so went out with friends and drank far too many beers however yesterday instead of sitting around and eating crisps and bread I went out and walked 9km!
Definitely need to start trying to incorporate more exercise into my life as I'm so sedentary due to WFH!

Loving reading everyone else's journeys too! @cheekysausage123congrats on your loss, that first week definitely spurs you on I think.

jaelato1 · 06/10/2025 10:39

Congrats @narcASD @Caledoniablue for the loss.

Welcome to the MJ journey @NorthernMarmiteLover @Elliebearblues

We are not just losing weight, we are gaining health, happiness and control of our story....We all got this!

Calyx72 · 06/10/2025 10:47

I weigh daily with my Renpho scale and I am up 1.2lbs today Confused but I know it’s just going to be water so not stressing. I didn’t like the comedy “boinnnng” noise the scale makes though as I was getting used to the nice ‘you have lost weight’ ting noise!

Popcornandbeetroot · 06/10/2025 11:07

Morning all, congratulations everyone on their progress and hello to all the new starters, hope it’s going ok for everyone 🥑🫛🥦🥬🫐🍐 I feel like I’ve eaten a lot of green stuff this week 💪🏻🙂. I weighed yesterday & did my 2nd injection, am feeling ok , low appetite to start with but better as the week went on, drinking lots of fluids because….
SW 15.12
CW 15. 8
GW 10.8
I’ve been doing a bit of reading up on supplements & bought some Marine collagen, creatinine, B12, Vitamin D and some clear protein to drink - I thought I’d get started early & try to give my body a bit of extra support, not sure if it will help, is anyone else trying any supplements?
Im finding it hard to drink such a large quantity of water, my boss is probably wondering why I need the loo every half an hour 👀. Well that was my first week, 4lb loss but going to aim for 2 lb a week hopefully, hope everyone else has a good week 👍

Calyx72 · 06/10/2025 12:50

@PopcornandbeetrootI bought the clear protein (vimto flavour!) and I like it. I take Elavate collagen, B12, D and iron.

Caledoniablue · 06/10/2025 13:18

@Calyx72i was weighing daily at the start of last week too when my renpho scales arrived... over 4 days I lost and gained the same bloody pound! Was fuming at the noise so left it another 3 days then when I weighed yesterday I was down -2lbs!

Popcornandbeetroot · 06/10/2025 15:49

@Calyx72 Vimto sounds nice 👍 I will definitely give that a try, thank you

Hello
Just started Mounjaro today. SW 14.7 and I’m 5’6”. Never struggled with my weight until menopause caused a spare tyre that will not shift no matter how much exercise I do. Hoping this will be the kick start I need. But I feel totally unprepared, what do I eat? I can’t think of what to have for dinner at the best of times since both DDs have gone of to uni and I’m just cooking for me and DH (he also cooks and also never knows what to have - a daily refrain in our house is What do you want for dinner? I dunno, what do you want?). Feeling like I should have done more planning before I injected but I suddenly had a brainwave that MN would save me 😁. I’m on collagen already and have been for some time. I also cycle and do weights. Oh well, here we go!!

H I’m doing my first MJ dose in the next hour.. we are a bit like that never know what to eat and I also have 4 out of 5 kids home too who pm 2 are fussy so I end up cooking different meals.

tonight we are having homemade chips (healthy from potatoes in the air fryer), ham and egg , I’d say definitely have some protein and fibre if you can and try not to eat too large of a meal or you’ll just feel it sitting in your stomach for hours.

What sort of meals do you tend to eat. We have food like Chicken Skewers, Wholemeal rice and salad, chicken fajitas with salad and maybe a wrap, jacket potato with curry/ chilli, pasta bake etc… xx

Hello all 🖐

I did my first jab yesterday and this afternoon I felt really dizzy, have made sure to eat little and often so hoping it is a temporary side effect that will wear off.

SW 18st 3lb
GW 10st 7lb so a long way to go!

GLP1Girl · 06/10/2025 18:03

Might be worth drinking some electrolytes and eating small amounts and often

Get some electrolytes in your water , you can get them in most supermarkets and Amazon. They definitely help x

I’m trying not to obsess and weigh each day too and just weigh on a Friday for a weekly average.
2lb is great though x

jaelato1 · 06/10/2025 19:16

@TheScreensNurseTheScreens Welcome! try to download apps like my fitness pal or nutracheck, they have good healthy food menu/ideas you can start with. Prioritise proteins, fibres and lots of water.

jaelato1 · 06/10/2025 19:20

@AlexBrad Welcome on board!

Juststarting12 · 06/10/2025 19:33

I’ve just received my email to say my order is being shipped, very nervous but also excited. I’ve realised that I don’t go out socialising anymore because I don’t want people seeing how much I’ve changed, I don’t even like visiting family because I get comments about my weight or if I’m still going to the gym, I hate being in photos & find myself thinking about my weight everyday.
I used to be a size 8 but that was with gym 5x a week and trying numerous diets, since having children I don’t have the time and my weight has crept up. I’m hoping this is the push I need.
Good luck to everyone starting this journey.
