Bit premature but planning on starting with Mounjaro in next week or so.

I’ve struggled with my weight for the majority of my life and despite having periods of being within the realms of ‘healthy’ weights, these have been difficult to get to and v hard to maintain. I’m now keen to sort things out, once and for all before I’m 40. (Given myself a buffer as currently 36…) 😅

SW: 14st 7lb
1st GW: 13st

@RachSt12 I ordered from Curate. They were one of the cheapest but it's worth bearing in mind their timeframes. I ordered and had to wait 2.5 weeks before I could get a video consultation. Once approved after the video consultation my pen was dispatched the same day. I start my own today and planning to inject this afternoon.

cheekysausage123 · 29/09/2025 09:47

@Calyx72That’s interesting, hope you get some helpful replies. I’ve got the Mirena IUD so hoping it won’t affect things too much.

Woke up for the first time in my life with no appetite, bizarre feeling, currently forcing down a smaller bowl than usual of my favourite protein granola, f/free yogurt and frozen fruit. And a coffee.

Good to know that the time scales can be quite long @Elizabeth49- worth considering when thinking ahead to potentially next month.

Sounds like you’ve got a good plan @Fashmagslag I’m trying to prioritise protein more than ever, and fibre!

I bought 5% greek yoghurt and mixed chia seeds and a drop of maple syrup (all weighed and counted), mixed and let it sit till the chia seeds expanded. Tastes good but the texture is awful Hmm never realistically to keep that up!

Hello! I’m starting at some stage this week My Oushk pen is arriving on Wednesday hopefully, but I’m having my flu jab that day so will probably have first injection a few days later. I am very happy to have found this thread to share our journeys

cheekysausage123 · 29/09/2025 13:31

Welcome @wetwiped! Glad you’ve found us.

I’ve eaten some lunch but still feel v nonchalant about it which is something that never happens for me around food. Also done some gardening and a tip run. Halo

Can I join? I signed up to Pharmacy Express yesterday. Got an email this morning to say they will video call me tomorrow morning so that was quick. Can anyone tell me what to expect from the call please?
I'm 5 foot and weigh 12st 10, aiming for an initial loss of 3 stone which will still put me in the overweight category so I'll see how I feel if I get as far as that. Not able to do much exercise at the moment as have mobility problems, so I imagine weight loss will be fairly slow.

Popcornandbeetroot · 29/09/2025 16:50

Hello, can I join this thread? I started yesterday, had my pen stashed in the fridge for over a week but plucked up the courage last night after reading lots of posts on here about everyone’s journey. I don’t know what I was so anxious about, it was easy & I feel ok today so fingers crossed the rest of the week stays that way.
my height is 5ft 5 and SW is 15st 12 , I’m hoping to loose about 5 stone but slowly as I don’t want too many side effects.
look forward to chatting with everyone 🙂

Elizabeth49 · 29/09/2025 19:19

@Shitzngiggles I had my video call last week with curate. They asked me for my medical history and what medication I was on. I then had to step in the scales and show my weight. Then show my height against a tape measure.

Thank you, seems pretty straightforward then which is good.

I did my first injection this evening. I was petrified and have been putting it off all day! I hardly felt it, to be point I am worried I did it wrong. I can see a pinprick on my tummy and the dial went back to 0.

@cheekysausage123how have you felt today?

I did my 2nd jab last night, really struggled to eat today which is just the strangest feeling. I work from home and usually am constantly snacking and picking, i was really busy today and it was after 3pm before I realised I'd had nothing to eat!
I've just ordered renpho scales too @Calyx72after seeing my friends uses it with the app, they arrive tomorrow can't wait!

@TerraCotterhope your headaches are better, did you try electrolytes?

Good luck to everyone starting this week, excited to see where we all are at the end of the month!

cheekysausage123 · 29/09/2025 21:41

@CaledoniablueI was considering those scales, think I’m going to go for it too as they’re on offer on Amazon right now.

Good work on plodding on with the second jab!

Hope your call goes well tomorrow @Shitzngiggles

Good day thanks, played two games of netball this eve and stayed within my cal allowance although it’s quite high? I’m quite heavy to begin with though. Did TDEE minus 500cals, not sure if that’s right but…

OP posts:
TerraCotter · 29/09/2025 22:53

@CaledoniablueStill have the headaches although a paracetamol helps a lot.

I weigh everyday (also have fancy scales!) and have lost 2.8lbs in 4 days so the headaches seem worthwhile atm.

However I do feel hungry now but feel able to ignore it so much better.

So it’s a weird drug for changing the way I’m thinking quite subtly… But this may be me overthinking everything and a placebo would have the same effect.

It’ll be interesting to see how everyone else gets on too and their experiences.

Calyx72 · 30/09/2025 07:17

Morning all! Welcome and good luck to you who joined after me (sorry I am on the app and can’t see and type!)
My TDEE minus 500 is 1100 but I am aiming at 1200 because 1100 is too low from what I have read. I was eating and drinking well over TDEE so it’s still a good loss. I went down 1.2lb this morning (I weigh daily) so that’s likely my water weight loss starting.

I have Renpho scales and a Renpho body tape measure so it logs / tracks my size as well. To date it’s gone up not down but now it should start to go the right way! I also have the skipping rope hahaha I haven’t opened those yet and it’s been 6 months maybe soon as skipping is so good for the bone density.

Made overnight oats yesterday with raspberries and chia seeds, greek yoghurt 5%, almond milk. Hope it’s nicer than just the yoghurt and chia seeds!

Well done on netball @cheekysausage123how are everyone’s energy levels? Mine are low so far.

jaelato1 · 30/09/2025 10:25

@Calyx72 my energy is actually better since I started MJ, enerygy level was low in the first 24hours but I have started eating more protein than I normally used to so that might have contributed to my energy level.

I do add a bit of honey or maple syrup to my overnight oats/chia seed for taste.

@TerraCotter Congratulations! I am avoiding checking my weight daily, (why - I dont know really) I have decided to check it weekly so on jab day which will be on thursday. Also had headaches for the first 3 days , hope it gets better.

cheekysausage123 · 30/09/2025 10:35

@Calyx72@jaelato1 I’m also feeling full of energy, this is coming from a woman that was up at 520am with a noisy three year old - absolutely unheard of for me!

Lots of luck for weigh in on Thursday and great news on the loss @TerraCotter. I’m excited for my new scales arrival today. Grin

Thank you @cheekysausage123 it went well considering my scales were playing up. Showed 12st 10 on Sunday but this morning 11st 10! The batteries were low so they've been throwing out false readings. Anyway very nice guy on the video call could see I was flustered and accepted the lower reading as still being eligible so all good. I've now put new batteries in and getting an accurate reading of 12st 1lb. So not as much weight to lose as I originally thought. Mounjaro should be delivered Thursday. Can't wait to get started now. I'm 63 and battled with my weight since my 30s so looking at this as a last chance. Good luck to everyone.

Fashmagslag · 30/09/2025 19:40

Second injection today. Hunger was definitely creeping back yesterday and today. I don’t know if it’s psychosomatic but I did my injection and then went to have dinner (which was small and light) and had to force myself to eat it.

Not a huge loss week 1, a couple of pounds, but I’m happy with slow and steady. Also did not watch what I ate as I knew I was eating so much less anyway. Will probably eat healthier this weeK. Noticeable side effect is constipation which I never suffer from.

cheekysausage123 · 30/09/2025 20:12

Ohh I want your kind scales @Shitzngiggles! Glad the call went well for you.

Congrats on 2nd jab @Fashmagslag and the loss! I hope the constipation resolves itself soon enough.

TerraCotter · 25/09/2025 22:42

Just started today. Got a slight headache but I think that could be the stress / excitement!

For dinner tonight we had pizza and I could only manage a quarter of it whereas normally I’d have half but actually want it all.

I’ve eaten other food today totalling 1700 cals and have done over 16.5K steps so a good day.

I’m using Chequp so if anyone wants my £50 code that would be cool.

I don’t have much to lose so if you’re similar it would be great to chat! :)

My daughter is just waiting for approval from Chequp, we didn't know there were codes 🤦‍♀️

narcASD · 30/09/2025 23:07

Hi can I join?

Not officially October but I took my first dose Saturday, no major side effects apart from bloating but I’m still dreaming of thinking of food a lot, not eating as much though.

Elizabeth49 · 01/10/2025 08:24

Welcome to all the newbies. I took my first jab on Monday so yesterday was day 1. I woke up hungry but after breakfast the jab kicked in and I could barely eat. I work from home and snack eat a LOT but no snacking at all. I managed a small lunch and small dinner. It was such a strange feeling to not want to eat loads.

Elizabeth49 · 01/10/2025 08:25

Ps I also forgot to introduce myself. I am 49 and since kids have struggled to lose the weight. Working from home has also meant a lot more snacking. I am on Mounjara.
