Welcome to thread 14!

Link to our last thread here:

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5394264-mounjaro-starters-nov-24-thread-13-the-one-where-we-are-lucky-to-end-our-best-summer-in-years-thinner-and-more-comfortable-in-our-own-skin?page=40

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we enter Autumn knowing that ALL of our Winter coats will do up 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!

I’m on W47 D2 and on w2 of my second titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 7.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb

Total loss so far 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0)

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Love it. Absolutely adore her. DH tried to make a snarky comment about her at one point, muttering something about the docuseries being a fictional work of editing and he got my best Paddington stare and a sharp warning!

I have so much respect for her and think she has made a bloody good job of creating Brand Beckham.

Agree. Plus also quite refreshing to see that even celebrities can’t control the weather 😂

I love everything about this ❤️ And as you explore clothes you'll find your style - what an exciting adventure! I love clothes. Adore dressing for the occasion - almost like dress up for grown ups. Going for lunch at the harbour? That calls for a nautical theme with stripes. Shopping with my mum? Then I dress as if we're going to Harvey Nicks. Any special occasion = sequins 😂 Enioy exploring @lovealongbath

In this house sequins are for every occasion. Especially parents evening 🤣 My Vinted shop looked like Danny LaRue’s dressing up box 😂

She said I looked great, but bless her she has always been someone overflowing with the compliments!
Hilariously it turned out her BF is on mounjaro and has lost a similar amount to me AND she used it for a few weeks too but was really sick on it so stopped. I'm surprised if she's over 30 BMI but steered clear of that potential derail of the conversation. She didn't think I could be obese at my current weight though, so perhaps, to quote the MN teeny tinies 'we've lost sight of what a healthy weight looks like'.
It was such a lovely catch up and I need to keep it in mind if I'm having any future social wobbles.

Aww that sounds lovely!

I think it’s a natural reaction for people to be surprised when they find out how much you’ve lost. Often because it puts in perspective their own weight and the whole ‘body positivity’ movement. I’m 132lbs right now. The amount of comments I get suggesting I’m ‘7 stone’ is ridiculous. I’m not about to divulge my weight because i don’t want people knowing I was up to nearly 14 stone at one point. But 7 stone at my height would make me look like I’d been dug up 😂

How fab! What are you both wearing?

The band has a flouncy gothic vibe, so I am going with a black devore dress, and black plimsoles so I can dance the night away. DD will probably wear a bustier corset top, over a flouncy dress ensemble.

I also had great fun trying on all my posh frocks and hats yesterday for this weekends wedding. Over the years DD, DIL and I have accumulated a 'hat library'. We have about 25 hats and fascinators between us, inherited from late grandmothers, bought from charity and vinted shops, and we each had one specially made for DS's wedding, it makes getting ready for these happy events even more fun.

I adore sparkles and sequins; love the look but also that weighted feel of them. I have a wonderful all-over sparkly dress that I bought years ago. It now fits me again. It was always very fitted so it still looks good, even though I am a stone lighter than when I bought it 20 years ago. I just need an occasion to wear it. Although I might take inspiration from @Mounjaropen and just wear it for one random supper next week!

I hope you have a spangly jumpsuit planned for Xmas!

Ooh this is an idea! ✨

Goldleafcat · 14/10/2025 09:09

Morning all,

Absolutely here for the sparkles and sequin talk. I am a true magpie at heart and love anything that glitters. I’ve been far too matte and non sparkly for quite a while now and you’ve inspired me to bring back a bit of bling ✨.

I weighed myself this morning to see where I’m up to and it’s 11 stone 3lbs. I hadn’t really given a lot of thought to the MJ anniversary but I’ve just realised that with a fair wind (and a bit more walking and reformer Pilates action) I might actually reach my 11 stone target by the 1 year mark! (Which would be 5 stone 7 loss). 😱

SwallowsandAmazonians · 14/10/2025 10:29

Yep MJ anniversary coming up! I'm aiming for a 3st total loss by then - slow loser here but would be 22% of previous weight.

Goldleafcat · 14/10/2025 11:04

Now look at what you’ve all got me perusing 🤦‍♀️🤣

Oooh, I must try on a Topshop sparkly minidress I bought about 10 years ago. It was a size 14 but tiny and I’m now probably 1.5 stone lighter than I was when I bought it. It’s a great Christmas party dress.

RayonSunrise · 14/10/2025 14:49

Oooh, are we talking about Christmas outfits? I LOVE planning a Christmas outfit. 🎄

Argh I’ve ordered the skirt and jumper combo.

Oh yes we are!

I have my Karen Millen black velvet/ crystal dress to consider, but I might also wear that on my Birthday in November... just because I can 😂

Definitely wear the spangles for a random supper I say!

I'll race you! I'm aiming for the same loss for my mounjaroversary, although it'll not get me anyway near the 11s.

Pah haha! Dh always dreads parents evening. Not because of what the teachers might say, but because I always get the power suits out 😂 Never bother with them for the office anymore!

You’d still have lost 5 1/2 stones though! Don’t lose sight of that will you? 👏👏👏

Oh absolutely not. I'd love to be nearing my goal but my average loss is still 1.47 pounds a week, so healthy and good progress.

MagnoliaTreePetals · 15/10/2025 15:41

Weighing in day

SW 16.5
CW 11 stone
TWL 5 stone 5

Aiming to maintain. currently 12.5mg 12 days apart.
As always I had convinced myself that I had put on, but in fact I have lost 1 lb.
My brain loves to wind me up!
So I am 4lb under my original maintenance target. Which is great as we have a few parties in the weeks ahead, an operation which will stop me exercising properly for 10 days, and a 5 day trip to Florence. I will still aim to maintain as it would be great to have some spare lb's in hand for Christmas.

So I will stretch the gap to 13 days this time.

I was quite stressed at the start of aiming to maintain, having 'failed' so many times in the past. I thought that the days without the MJ effect would be really hard, but they are easier than I expected. I do eat little more on those days, but still sticking to protein and fibre with healthy fats, and no snacking (which is a miracle in it's own right).
