Welcome to thread 14!

Link to our last thread here:

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5394264-mounjaro-starters-nov-24-thread-13-the-one-where-we-are-lucky-to-end-our-best-summer-in-years-thinner-and-more-comfortable-in-our-own-skin?page=40

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we enter Autumn knowing that ALL of our Winter coats will do up 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!

I’m on W47 D2 and on w2 of my second titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 7.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb

Total loss so far 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0)

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Weighing in day

SW 16.5
CW 11 stone
TWL 5 stone 5

Aiming to maintain. currently 12.5mg 12 days apart.
As always I had convinced myself that I had put on, but in fact I have lost 1 lb.
My brain loves to wind me up!
So I am 4lb under my original maintenance target. Which is great as we have a few parties in the weeks ahead, an operation which will stop me exercising properly for 10 days, and a 5 day trip to Florence. I will still aim to maintain as it would be great to have some spare lb's in hand for Christmas.

So I will stretch the gap to 13 days this time.

I was quite stressed at the start of aiming to maintain, having 'failed' so many times in the past. I thought that the days without the MJ effect would be really hard, but they are easier than I expected. I do eat little more on those days, but still sticking to protein and fibre with healthy fats, and no snacking (which is a miracle in it's own right).

You are doing so well! Florence sounds fabulous!

@MagnoliaTreePetalsyour Last Dinner Party outfit sounds perfect. We saw them this summer and they were excellent - I told DH they’re the sort of band that would be amazing at Royal Albert Hall. Have a lovely time!

I am enjoying all the talk of our collective Mounjaroversary. Perhaps we should ritualistically try on one of last year’s outfits, then change into one of this year’s to mark the occasion! (Or maybe not, too much like an 80s Weight Watchers ad?)

I p.volved today and I can already feel it in my shoulders/lats. @Mounjaropenyou must be very ripped by now!0

Tomorrow I have a run planned, and then on Friday we’re going out for our anniversary dinner. The question is, of course, what to wear? I am thinking the burgundy Prada boots (very old) with burgundy cord flares (very new) and an ivory silk shirt (halfway between).

lol to being ripped. Definitely not - but without a doubt, my arms would not look as good without Pvolve and nor would my midriff. You’ll be loving it soon!

Happy Friday everyone!

Update from me: still at 132.4lbs on my weekly 5mg dose, I’ve been naughty with the wine this week though and have a boozy lunch today with an old friend…but I have played tennis 3 x this week and have been double pvolving each day as I want to get as close as possible to obtaining an average of 5 sessions per week for the year… it’s a target just for me but I’d love to get there. Lots of pics in the press this week of St Jennifer of Anniston posing with the Pvolve team looking insane for her (our) age, so it’s an incentive. I’ve actually got strong obliques for once as a bonus 💪🏻 Thinking of going down to 3.75mg from next week (although I need to work out how much that is from a 5mg pen)

Warnings in the Daily Fail today about the mega dose pens doing the rounds from China which for once would be quite useful if it wasn’t hidden behind a paywall..🙄. I was actually offered one by my eyebrow lady ( 40mg pen!) and whilst I see the attraction of the alleged savings I very much doubt they are Eli Lily approved and could prove to be very dangerous. Run the link through www.removepaywall.com to have a read.

Wishing everyone a fantastic weekend!

How half of women on fat jabs are injecting potentially fatal doses

Would you inject chemicals into your body without knowing with a high degree of certainty what they were?

Happy Friday!

Weigh-in day for me, and I’m holding pretty steady at 65.5kg (10 stone 4). That puts my bmi at a fairly comfortable 20.9, which makes me very happy! I’m still on 7.5mg, but my maintenance call is week after next. Which does mean I’ll be titrating down as we approach Christmas - I may need to up my scales monitoring to aid my discipline during the festive season!

Did anyone else watch all the celeb fashion collabs drop yesterday? Bella Freud at M&S, JW Anderson at Uniqlo, and Lorena Saravia at H&M. I can’t say as I found myself pining for any of it particularly, though I liked the burgundy/hot pink colour combo on one of the Freud jumpers. I think I’ve just been over-sloganed in the past few years though - I know Freud’s are the originals, but they’ve been so ubiquitous even hers now feel a bit derivative, you know?

The Lorena Saravia collection is fun and I like the drama of it, but the only things I can see myself actually wearing are the wrap and the suede clutch.

RayonSunrise · 17/10/2025 09:12

Thanks for the heads-up on the dodgy pens, @Mounjaropen- the market really feels like the Wild West right now, doesn’t it? Brands expect to squeeze more revenue from customers, copycats see the opportunity and crank out cheaper alternatives, regulators and consumers try to keep up with what’s safe/good value.

Goldleafcat · 17/10/2025 09:27

Happy Friday!

Good morning everyone. My weigh in:

SW: 16 stone 7lbs
CW: 11 stone 0.4lbs
Initial GW: 11 stone ish
Stretch GW: 10 stone 7lbs (do I rethink this?)

Well, somehow, it looks like I’ve more or less achieved my first goal weight! 😱 There is a whisker / 0.4lb between me and the perfect 11 stone (drat) but I’m pleased with the progress this week (3lb loss).

Also, what I do have to celebrate, is that my BMI is now finally green (just!) at 24.9! I’ve made it into the ‘healthy weight’ crew 🤣

That is 33% off my body weight since I started on MJ. My body fat percentage is still high and I do think I have some way to go still, but it’s lovely to see the evidence on the scales.

Just a pound off this week as I let myself fall into some bad old sugary habits. Not as bad as they were in Before Times but definitely less mindful than I have been.
That pound came with some other good stats though. My visceral fat is down to 13, which is so close to the standard range now, and my body fat is 39.7%. Still high, obvs, but again getting so much close to 'acceptable' than I'd ever thought it would be.

So many people desperately want WLI but can’t access due to affordability or other restrictions. I tend to be risk adverse when it comes to medications so it shows how much I wanted/needed MJ. I stalked these boards for months before taking the plunge - June to Oct 24 starters just to see what they were all doing.

My concern is that some people no longer see it as prescription medication and that people should be able to access whenever and wherever they want without any regulation. Absolute stupidity.

The number of threads on here from non-obese women saying it's 'not fair' that they aren't 'allowed' WLI would support that. It's not about fair, or allowing, it's prescription medication for the disease of obesity! If you're so desperate for obesity medication then put the hard work in and become obese 😂🙄
It makes for a very strange hierarchy, because everyone still hates the fatties and judges the cheaters using WLI and yet our obese status is apparently also now giving us some unfair advantage.

It is a strange paradox indeed. However just from my sample from cleaning ladies in the past 12 months alone in more than one area of England (all under 30, all with probably less than a stone to lose) there is a serious amount of the population taking risks by taking meds totally unsuitable for them. And not from reputable sources either. Probably the same ones who repost shite about covid jab conspiracy theories abd refused the covid jab because ‘they didn’t know what was in them (obviously Bill Gates’ microchips’ 🙄

I agree. It’s a shame Trump has zero lateral or logical thinking. Increase the price of drugs from an American company and the Chinese just swoop in and flood the market he just created with counterfeit product. Madness.

I also took ages to decide and lurked on the threads too.

I agree @PinkArt In my friendship groups there are a few like that. One actually invited me out last week for coffee and it transpired her express purpose was to get me to admit to weight loss jabs. But, dear readers, I didn’t cave in once, oh no I showed no weakness. I droned on about Micheal Mosley who I bored on a lot about last October. Then moved onto my step count, Pilates and now jogging. Also how no longer working means I am not stress eating and sleeping better blah blah blah. I got away with an interrogation that could have come out of a gestapo training manual, honestly at one point I think she was considering water boarding me especially when another friend turned up by ‘surprise’ to join in. The funny thing being that the ambush friend was the one who I spotted the Oushk puffin packaging at her home in the summer 😂😂

Anyway the lead interrogator was concerned that in her mid-fifties she is now having to wear a size 12 and was doing her best to stop size 14 happening. I munched a biscuit (very rare these days) to stop myself saying that I have gone from a size 22/20 to a more than comfortable 12 with a potential 10 hopefully in the next few months. I tried the obesity is a disease approach with her but she responded that I was clearly eating too much and my weight loss progress proved it 😂. Ambush friend said that WLIs are so expensive and how she is amazed anyone can afford them.

Got home and told DH about the encounter. His lips are sealed. He is a good secret keeper.
