Finally caught up
@Woodywig suppression I don't really have much. If anything I just find the jag makes me want to eat healthy and im making healthier choices. I eat roughly 1500 to 1700 calories a day and its working well for me 😊

@Autumnflowers2 I know 2 people that have come off the jag. One person lost 3 stone and another just over 5 stone and both of them are conscious of what they are eating and haven't put any weight back on. I think especially with us, we've all had a long journey and its not like we've lost the weight in 8 weeks and just jump off it. We're all on it for a long time, if we still keep an eye on our weight and know what to do calorie wise etc to me I think its really unlikely it'll all pile back on. Plus for us it won't go back on in a fortnight you'd be looking at months of unhealthy eating again.

What's everyone doing with their too big clothes? I've taken some to the charity shop, and have loads listed on Vinted, but not much is selling. I'm tempted to just bag it all up for charity, but there's so much, and I'd quite like to make a bit of money to put towards some new stuff. Help!!

So nice to chat with others in the same boat. When you have over 10 stone to lose (15 stone in my case) there are different issues that we face. How is everyone getting on with their journeys?
I've now lost 2 stone and looking forward to someone actually noticing! I've gone down a dress size which is wonderful but I guess it will be a few more stone before anyone can tell.

I started in November at 28st 1lb, I am 2lb away from 6st loss……nobody noticed until I’d lost 4st. Still have at least 11st to go and can’t imagine what I will look like then, been overweight since a teen.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 18/09/2025 01:35

Wow - so many fab posts to catch up with!!

Re the "It all goes back on again when you stop" - I do think I might well put it back on again if I come off. They have been amazing to facilitate weight loss in a way I have never been able to do on my own. I think there's a biological difference between me-that-has-experience-of-morbid obesity and someone who has never been obese. I could completely believe I will need the the insulin/blood sugar/hormone/whatever it is regulation to be able to maintain a normal weight. So for me I am prepared to stay on it long term. I think it's not definite people will gain weight though - if they are able to stick to a calorie controlled diet long term it wont happen. But it does seem for most people after any diet/ wli/ even surgery the weight does go back on.

I am nowhere near that stage but I would like to titrate slowly down and just see what happens at each stage but be ready to stay on it long term (hopefully at a much lower/cheaper dose). I am hopeful that being on MJ for a long time plus slow tapering could give a different result...

@Blondeshavemorefun That's really interesting. They seem a good company (Medino with the code is cheaper for my dose so will stay with them for now but they were the other one I was thinking of). I know they cant officially agree with microdosing -but were they saying if you used a pen for 8 weeks they'd happily just prescribe a 10 every 8 weeks for example. That's what I'm trying to get my head around.

I know the pharmacies are likely happy if you say show a stash of 3 pens and go to them 3 months later as evidence of enough MJ. But what about 1 pen and 8 weeks when its clear you've used half. Or will they say start at 2.5 again.

I think that's what I was wondering about Medino - if i ask the pharmacist if I can dose half doses they have to say no - so was wondering if there's any point saying buying a 12 and dosing 9 each weeek as its cheaper or whether noone will prescribe to me in 8 weeks time.

AS in how are those splitting doses getting pens? I think many turn a blind eye to it being 5 weekly (The one near me I spoke to were amazing and said that I could order 5 weekly - but they ended up being expensive!)

I am teaching in the morning and I'm awake far to late . I am definitely going to jab a bit less Friday! I do hope to go just under 100kg then but we will see!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 18/09/2025 01:37

Reginaphalangeeeee · 17/09/2025 09:32

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGardenI am really struggling with my work load too. I am behind and for some things my head is so far down in the sand I can’t look up with out panic. Overwhelmed but flattened energy too.

No solutions, just solidarity!

We do seem to be walking a similar path in so many ways.. Hope things get better and you can get some rest at the weekend

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 18/09/2025 01:40

I've just realised I'll be working in the morning in a centre I've not been to for a few months... I am not sure who will be there or if there would be comments. In my newish/main job people just didn't know me before this term so there isn't that as an issue! (Oh lovely moment - a new staff member and a student decided I was a "small fast animal".... I'm not small - but they meant that I was bustling around and its funny their perception of me is without any of the baggage of the last 15 years!)

WafflingDreamer · 18/09/2025 07:05

Weigh in number 50
SW 21st 9lb (BMI 44.7)
CW 15st 2lb (BMI 31.0)
GW 12st 9lb (BMI 25.9)

0lb down this week
Losses so far; 4, 1, 5, 1, 3, 4, 2, 2, 2, 4, 1, +3, 5, 1, 3, 2, 4, 3, 1, 1, 3, 1, 1, 3, 3, 1, 1, 0, 2, 3, 1, 2, 2, 0, 1, 3, 1, 1, 2, 3, 1, 3, 1, 0, 1, 1, 2, 2, 0, 0
Total loss 91lbs / 6st 7lb

Another maintain for me this week. No idea what's causing this plateau although I've definitely been hungry. I was hoping to be 7st down by my 1 yr anniversary but 6.5st is pretty impressive too

GnomeDePlume · 18/09/2025 07:21

Weigh in and jab day.

SW 137kg BMI 53.5
CW 103.6kg BMI 40.5
GW 63kg BMI 24.6

That's 16 stone 4.5 lbs, 5 and 1/4 stones lost in old money. DH says my shape is starting to change. Still not seeing it myself.

I feel like I am at a bit of a plateau, mentally rather than in terms of weightloss. Perhaps it's the middle stage of weightloss. Lost lots but there is still an awful lot to go.

@Billybingbong as I make a lot of my clothes I am keeping them. I am going to have another go at major alterations, see how they look. If that doesnt work then they may reappear as patchwork bucket hats.

There was an interesting article in The Independent this week about the link between diabetes and dementia. More reason to keep on top of my diabetes. My DM has dementia and I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy.

GnomeDePlume · 18/09/2025 07:23

@WafflingDreamer 6.5 stone is very certainly impressive. Well done!

eibbed999 · 18/09/2025 07:37

Have any of you ever flown on Loganair, as I know we have a Scottish contingent? Travelling up to Aberdeen with them soon and wondering how their seats/seatbelts compare! I'm flying alone so won't have a member of my own family to sit next to, bit nervous about spilling over a stranger! Oh how I look forward to not having to think about this stuff...

Lds1 · 18/09/2025 07:41

Weigh in today, the weigh in was better than expected as yesterday I still weighed the same as last week. Today i have lost 0.7kg. still aiming for the 10st loss! I'm now 75% towards hitting my goal.

Sw: 142.8kg / 22 stone, 6 lb and 13.1 oz
CW: 80.4kg / 12 stone, 9 lb and 4 oz
Total loss: 62.4kg / 9 stone, 11 lb and 9.1 oz
BMI: 50.8 now 28.6
To get to healthy: 10.3kg / 1 stone, 8 lb and 11.3 oz
To get to goal: 20.4kg / 3 stone, 2 lb and 15.6 oz

I can't bare VINTED, I sell on eBay and it's a very painless process in comparison

If you haven't already, you could put bundle discounts on for Vinted, and mention that in each item's listing. I only put the better brands on Vinted and don't expect much money for anything, unless it's in really decent nick or a larger item. I'm also a bit obsessive about photographing everything clearly and consistently so that all my items are presented similarly and have full details of fabric, clear picture of care label etc etc. I won't buy things where I can't see what the fabric is or how to wash it, so I figure that other people would be put off by that too.

If things aren't selling on Vinted, then there's no harm in taking them off and trying eBay instead.

Everything that @SilenceInside said @Billybingbong - I present mine honestly and carefully, in a way I'd like to see them before I parted with cash! A while ago when I had some quite expensive stuff to shift, I also did a wardrobe spotlight - I think it was about £8 but was worth it because pretty much everything went quite quickly.

Billybingbong · 18/09/2025 09:46

Thank you @SilenceInside and @eibbed999 . I'm already doing everything you suggest, although I haven't tried wardrobe spotlight yet, so may give that a try. I think Vinted is getting a bit saturated right now, which is great for buyers, but not so for sellers. I haven't used Ebay in years, but it might be time to give it a go.

Autumnflowers2 · 18/09/2025 09:50

So my vinted things arrived
The religion white t-shirt has a slight brown stain on the neck
The Joe browns coat has seen better days ,and looks like has come from a charity shop, very well worn ,looks old and tatty 😔
The biker jacket had writing on the back that is pealing off .
But the fake fur coat was in good nick with no issues
Other than the fur coat , everything smelled of charity shop ,so that's were they will be going .and I will just keep the fur coat
So basically I've wasted £25 on 3 items I'm just going to charity shop .

Autumnflowers2 · 18/09/2025 09:52

I'm going to stick to just buying a few items in the sale ,in each size as I slim down ..
Currently very pleased to in size 20 super skinny jeans for £13

SilenceInside · 18/09/2025 09:58

@Autumnflowers2 oh that's a shame. If the items weren't as described then you could try returning them, which will cost you the delivery but would hopefully get you some of your money back.

Exactly! Don't accept them.
Raise an issue, and you could get your money back.

Today is my one year anniversary on MJ. I started at 202Lb and today I am 160lb so I am quite please with that. Before that I was on Ryselbus for 18 months and lost about 70lb on that so that's a total of 110lb I think. I have really been maintaining for the last few months so I think I should renew the effort and try to get to a healthy BMI instead of fannying around. At the price it is now I need to be intentional. I wish I had kept better records now, but at the time it was too much to think about.

Yeah, just dont tick the box so the seller doesnt get the money and they will work with you to make it right.

Not flown on Loganair @eibbed999 but solidarity in the looking forward to not having to worry about this sort of thing. I had a NSV at the weekend re being able to fit comfortably in a theatre seat, and also not having to worry about it beforehand. I was so obese that I often couldn't get a seatbelt around me in a taxi and lived in fear of having to tell the driver this.

Yep, I've been there on the taxi front too! And ducked out of theatre trips at the last minute, pretending I was ill because I knew I wouldn't fit in the seat. Ugggh. I went to Spain this summer, and on one airline the seatbelt just about fastened, but on the way back with Ryanair (the bastards!) I needed an extender. But I had my kids next to me so it didn't matter. Bit jumpy about this one - but it's only a short flight at least, so fingers crossed the humiliation won't last for long! Congrats on your NSV, they all count for more than the numbers on the scales - it's making such a difference in people's lives.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 18/09/2025 15:39

Today's NSV

A bloke who I see every week told me I was looking much slimmer in the face, so I said, "not in the body?" and he said he didn't want to be rude, but yes, I was much slimmer.
So then I asked him how much he thought I'd lost, and he said, "two stone?"

He was amazed when I told him that I'd lost over 8st in 21 months.

He asked me if I was on the jabs, and I told him I wasn't. It'd be all round the village if I told him the truth.
🤣
