Ooh and the new dementia choir was a huge success. Thirty people came (some were brought from a care home) and it was just wonderful.

The local ice cream shop also came, and brought three enormous tubs of ice cream, which we shared out at half time.

I'm making it sound like a football match.

True to form, I could only eat half of my portion.
Pre-MJ I'd have eaten two whole ones.

Anyone else not sleeping...I've been awake since 3 am..
Also
I was thinking about the CBT I'm currently having, and I said to the counsellor this week...that I thought a year ago ,my weight was causing all my problems..now I'm over 8 stone down ..I thought a lot of my problems would of gone with the weight .
I remember saying the same to a friend after a 5 stone loss ..and I remember saying, perhaps I just haven't lost enough yet for it to make a difference .
I am so utterly determined to never put this weight back on ,and I'm so proud of myself for loosing it .
But I'm quite surprised it's not solved at least some of the issues I'm having.
I'm getting moved on to level 2 CBT ..which is an hour a session and there will be things I'm going to have to do that I will find uncomfortable and difficult..
I'm not even sure CBT is good for people with autism

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne your bread does indeed look delicious!

afaloren · 26/09/2025 08:13

Stayed the same this week which I’m fine with as I had such a big loss last week and tbh haven’t eaten the best. Not really a lot, but not the right things. Must do better at drinking water and prioritising protein and vegetables.

Going on holiday for the next week but it’s self-catering so I can still be in control, in theory.

Bread looks good @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne !

Billybingbong · 26/09/2025 08:37

Week 25, and 3lb off, 4st 6lb in total. I'm tantalisingly close to 4 1/2st and the next stone bracket, hopefully next week, just in time for my 6 month monjiversary. Ive had multiple comments this week, so it looks like the difference is really starting to show (for real, and not just in my head ☺️!). Its a lovely feeling, and I am starting to feel a little bit proud of myself.

SW 22st 8lb
CW 18st 2lb
GW 11st 4lb

Have a great week everyone, onwards & downwards 💕

PearlsPearl · 26/09/2025 08:49

I am desperately craving fruit and veg. We’re eaten out for all meals for a week now and although it’s been a yummy adventure I just feel I need lighter things! Home Sunday evening, will jab 1.25 then throw myself back into mj life with gousto.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 26/09/2025 08:52

Sat on the train with a coffee and a Starbucks berry crunch catching up on this wonderful thread. I was hoping to see 12 stone on the scales this week but I weighed in at 12 stone 1lb. Not to be scoffed at! I’m in London this weekend so will be eating out constantly - wish me luck!

homemade bread is the best @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne, yours looks especially delicious. Homemade bread toasted is even better but I don’t think I could trust myself to stick to one slice!

sorry you’re not sleeping well @Autumnflowers2 and I hope the cbt helps you even though it may be uncomfortable for you.

SilenceInside · 26/09/2025 09:40

Week 63 weigh in.

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 75.5kg (11st 12lbs), was 76.2kg (12st 0lbs)
GW: 73kg (11st 7lbs) sixth interim goal
Current pen: 10mg, 20 weeks on this dose.

And, as if by magic, I am officially into the 11st bracket. And also officially 10st lost since starting Mounjaro, BMI down from 50.4 to 27.4 and I've lost 45.7% of my starting weight. Only 5 pounds/1.5kg away from my next interim target, and once that's achieved I am homing in on my final target. 🎯

@Autumnflowers2 sorry you're not sleeping atm, sounds like there's a lot on your mind around the CBT and the impact of your weight loss so far. Hopefully it will help though, and hopefully your sleep will improve soon too.

Feeling a bit down this morning.

Had a work event this week and there were photos taken. I look better, I guess, in terms of looking happier and more put together, but not much loss is visible. Even though I'm down 30 lbs, 10% of my starting weight. I wanted to take this very slow and that's right on target for my goals.

My rational brain knows all about the kitchen roll effect and all that and is very happy with the health, stamina, and mood improvements I'm already seeing. I'm more physically active, I sleep better, my knee and back pain has gone away. But my emotional parts are sad because I want there to be visible changes, cute new clothes.

EverybodysALebowski · 26/09/2025 10:19

Oh and that's not to put down anyone's announcements and successes! I am THRILLED every morning to see how much progress everyone is making, amazing losses and other results and especially all the NSVs (including cute clothes) that go with the better numbers.

I'm just mad at myself for not being patient and wanting an overnight miracle, rather than appreciating the gains I'm already having.

mamabeeboo · 26/09/2025 10:22

@newtothegreen @Autumnflowers2 great on finding the longer needles! I use 8mm, and I'm still figuring out if there's a difference.

Just a polite word of caution for using Amazon as a needle source (same for golden dose) - they aren't vetted and we don't know the cleanliness or policies they are upholding. Can I suggest using needles from a registered pharmacy. Many of the pharmacies we purchase the pens from also have needle stock.

Here's a link to the ones I use
Chemist4u needles

Doggymummar · 26/09/2025 10:28

I didu.my needles from Amazon this time they are Braun Omicron so a good make. I have always used care point before but they didn't have them this time. Well done on the 11s and well done on ten stone- I'm on the train to Eastbourne so having a little catch-up. If there's a mirror in the hotel toilet Iight treat you to a selfie later. I finally decided what to wear and toned it right down. I don't have a full length mirror at home so I never know how I look. There's one in the loft so that might need to come out. Wr are going to look at a house to buy tomorrow, been renting for 12 years since selling the last one so feels like a big move. Laters losers

mamabeeboo · 26/09/2025 10:29

I'm feeling like a bit of a fraud, I'm just so conscious of what everyone thinks of me as a fat person vs thin person.

I started my current role when I was a few months pregnant, and when someone said to me today that I looked slimmer, I straight away said yes I'm losing the babyweight (because they have never known me before kids).
I don't know what made me say that, but the feeling of someone not knowing I have been fat all my life felt a bit freeing.

I feel a bit conflicted now between not telling the truth and feeling that happy non-judgement feeling I got from them.

Ah ..thankyou that is a very good point ..I will make sure I do that in future

SilenceInside · 26/09/2025 10:52

@mamabeeboo I don't think it's fraudulent to say that you are losing the babyweight or to say something that's imprecise or not the whole picture in response to a personal comment about you. I "edit" plenty of things that I say in my work persona, I think that's very common.

Fffreeeeezing · 26/09/2025 11:00

Week 28 WI and a 3lb loss this week. That brings my total loss to 5st 6lb (I think I'll be calling that 5 and a half 😆) or 34.5kg
I've jabbed with an 8mm needle today as not only did @Autumnflowers2say about it working better, a random Insta post this morning said something along the same lines so thought it worth a try, it's not like it's any more effort, especially as I have never really had the suppression thing.

Only 3lb until I'm into the 19's which will feel like a milestone to be under 20st, fingers crossed for a good week this week 🤞

Well done everyone else, especially @SilenceInsideon the 10st, amazing and inspiration that by next spring/early summer I can be in a similar place!

Now I'm imagining the weight turning into honeybees and flying off me....

Billybingbong · 26/09/2025 11:51

@Autumnflowers2 I think for so long, we blame all our life problems on our weight, and it can come as a great surprise that some of these problems still exist once the weight is no longer such an issue. It can really mess with your head. Good luck with the CBT, I hope it helps.

@SilenceInside 10st off, gone forever, that's bloody brilliant 👏🎉🎊💕

@EverybodysALebowski you are doing amazing. 30lb is fabulous. That's 15 bags of sugar! The next team photo, you will be standing proud at the very front showing off the new you 💕

@mamabeeboo thanks for linking the longer needles, ive just ordered them. I also tell some people the edited version. Some people know I'm on the jabs, others think I'm just eating less and moving more. Which isn't a lie, just not the full story, which is none of their business anyway 😍

Gosh, this thread moves so fast, its impossible to keep up. I always feel mean not commenting on every single persons amazing achievements. But know you are all brilliant, and we all deserve a collective round of applause and unmumsnetty hug

mamabeeboo · 26/09/2025 12:38

Is anyone else reading the thread on MN about food noise and what slim people hear? It's honestly fascinating to read about how many don't even think about food between meals. It's a lot of "I eat what I want, I eat when I'm hungry, I don't like the feeling of being too full" etc and this would never be me. Why would you stop eating just because you feel full... 😝

But on MJ, I actually get it!! For the first time, I get not thinking about food, not feeling too full, naturally driven to healthy choices etc.

Slim people's food noise
