Anyone interested in a post-MJ thread? For people coming off completely?

I wondered if anyone is coming off Mounjaro completely and looking to maintain or continue losing weight?

I'm half way through my last pen and coming off earlier than planned due to the price rise and fatigue with the whole process.

Yes Placemarking - lost 2 stone on MJ only 1 more to go but it’s not shifting however I don’t want to go up a dose so if I don’t shift this last stone I’ll just come off and try maintain and up my metabolism through increased weights

I have an all inclusive week's holiday and put a couple more pounds on. Mostly, my energy levels and mood are greatly improved and people are commenting that I'm back to the old me. I was going to consider going back on the jabs this month but I've decided I'm generally happier enjoying the weightloss I experienced on them and now living without them.

I really feel a need to keep the normality of this thread going. Yes, many people come off jabs and revert to their old ways and pile the weight on. But I never snacked on crisps or cakes or chocolate, had takeaways etc. I lost weight slowly on the jabs as I didn’t have many bad habits to break, I guess it helped with portion control and insulin resistance.
Anyway, my point is, I used to read all the weight loss threads here for inspiration and now I can’t relate to them at all. I’m still 10 and a half stone and a shortie, still
above a healthy bmi. But I feel amazing and confident in my size 10/12 s. I can’t relate to people on 10 mg pens still who are 8 stone and put on half a pound in a week and are beside themselves with worry about it. It feels a bit obsessive. It’s ok for those who can afford them but I worry about those who can’t getting themselves into debt.
anyway, @RightImDoingThis I agree with what you say about being back to the old you. I am happier off the jabs and free of the obsession of weight. Just keeping a sensible eye and stopping it creeping back up.

I’m 35lbs down on 2.5mg and still have a stone to go too. But seem to have stalled. When i went up a dose I got terrible side effects (vomiting)

Thinking I’ll stay on my lower dose and try to lose the last 11lbs slowly while trying to install the way of eating and habits I’ve learned. High protein, no UPFs, virtually no alcohol, lifting weights.

Mind if I join?! I was on mounjaro last year (started in March and came off it in November due to cost & I was just at maintenance). So I'm off it nearly 4 months now. When I stopped I was 9st 10. However I'm now 10 stone 5 and I really need to give myself a talking too as it's creeping back on. (Which is why I'm here as I need all the support I can get). The food noise at the moment is absoultely awful and I really need to get back on track. I've started running and try to do 5k 3 x per week. But I definitley have not been good with my eating and today is when I start to get some control back. Any advice would be more than welcome.

No advice, sadly I'm in the same boat. I started putting on weight whilst still on mj I've rthe Christmas period. So I gained about 3lbs, then another 3lbs on the run up to my ski holiday and then I put on around 6lbs on the ski holiday and have really struggled to get out of holiday mode since. I'm currently a stone above target.
My issue is evening binge eating. I want to try and manage it without mj but I'm borderline going back on

RightImDoingThis · 09/03/2026 12:49

Statistically the vast majority of us will put the weight back on and more, no matter how we lost the weight in the first place. I don't really know what to say. We will have benefitted from being at a lower weight, even for a short period.

I am still feeling good off the jabs. I didn't realise how flat I felt on them and how much I enjoy food off them. I am getting some energy from somewhere, and suspect it's sorting out vitamins and protein powders and creatine. Who knows which ones are actually helping, but my step count has gone up from 9k to 16k on average.

Also, I have to say, I’m finding ChatGPT very helpful as a health coach and trouble shooter!.

I’m in. Currently maintaining on 5mg but aiming to gradually reduce and come off altogether. I’m a bit scared about doing it on my own though.

Ireolu · 04/04/2026 01:03

I was on MJ all of last yr. JAN 25 - Mid Dec 25. I came off as I was losing hair and it was affecting my mood. Also didn't want to be on it in 2026 if I could help it. I also reached goal 85kg. I lost about 30kg. Now a 12/14 size wise so not super skinny. As of today I weight 86.6kg. Its a struggle but I need to be determined to keep the weight off. I weigh more frequently than I used to to keep myself accountable. Being aware is helpful that I need to act so it doesn't get out of hand.

I have a 5mg pen in the fridge if things really get out of hand as a back up!

tinyemmy · 04/04/2026 10:04

Just popping in to say I'm doing really well with my accountability coach. I'm weighing daily (except this weekend as I'm away) and logging my calories daily. I also have her in WhatsApp for advice and to keep me accountable. The weight is finally going in the right direction again and I'm so happy. I lost 1lb last week whilst eating lots of lovely things. I'm still half a stone above the range I want to keep but I'm confident that I can get there.

Good morning and Happy Easter all! 🐣
I’d like to join if that’s ok?

I just posted on the maintenance thread, but then I saw you guys!

I have been on 2.5mg of MJ since the end of October. Tried going up to 5mg last month and have been experiencing horrible gastro symptoms since then, so went back to 2.5 but this hasn’t helped… so after being up vomiting half the night again, I’ve decided to go it alone from here.
Starting weight was 14st 4lbs (although had been 14.7 before that) - I was a size 18/20.
My current weight is 11st 6lbs and am a size 16 - so I have gone from a BMI of 30 and am now at a healthy 24.3. - that’s at the higher end of healthy so was planning to drop another 6 lbs. Am 5 foot 8 and 50yrs old for context.
I eat high protein and fibre, low carb and weightlift with a PT - am planning to up my gym sessions and focus on being strong and healthy from now on. I never want to get that big again.
I’d love some company and any tips for how to figure out maintaining weightloss would be brilliant 😊

Sadteacher · 06/04/2026 16:16

Welcome @ThankFuckTheSunIsHere When did you start working out? I only started after MJ and definitely think my increased muscle is helping with maintenance.
I just got back from the Peak District. Thousands of steps, salads for picnics, yoghurt for breakfast. Pizza and copious amounts of beer for dinner! Hopefully it balances out. I’d never have had salads for a picnic before. I still made sausage sandwiches for the rest of the family. I did worry my lettuce would blow away at one point though! Small long term changes I hope, getting a balance into holidays when I’d normally hoover up any food I could, just because I’m on holiday.

ThankFuckTheSunIsHere · 06/04/2026 18:10

@Sadteacher I’ve been working out since summer 2024. Was a complete novice. I really love it 🏋🏻‍♀️
Hopefully it will help with maintenance 🤞🤞🤞

ThankFuckTheSunIsHere · 09/04/2026 21:28

How’s everyone doing on this thread? Are you still maintaining totally off WLIs?

Hangryfastjo · 10/04/2026 07:45

Hello 👋🏻 I took last jab 1st March. Its been going okay, put a couple of pounds on over Easter and am just getting them back off, which is hard as the food noise is very loud currently, but im determined.
Im hoping the food noise will settle a little as my time without MJ increases.
My weight band for staying within is too near to 10stone, so i want to get to 9st 10lb as my target and stay around there.
Im now doing weights, reformer pilates and body Balance at the gym and walking more, which im loving.

EdinaTheConfessor · 10/04/2026 08:55

I’ve been off MJ since the new year.

I originally wanted to lose a further half stone as that’s how much I had put on after tapering down doses and over Christmas, but that has proven harder than expected and I keep losing and gaining the same few lb. But crucially, I haven’t put any weight on since coming off completely and to be fair I’m still below my target weight. I’ve found that I do need to calorie count and exercise to keep in check, but I do allow myself a bit more leeway at the weekends.

I have found that although food noise and hunger seemed unbearable at first, it definitely has decreased over time. Just thinking about it now and I can’t remember a time this week were I’ve had proper food noise and cravings, and last night I noticed that I was fuller than expected before finishing my main meal and had to leave some food which I’ve not done (voluntarily 🤣) since coming off.

So I’m thinking the changes to lifestyle thing that people bang on about is finally kicking in and the less snacking and smaller portions are becoming the new norm for me.

etchedinstone · 10/04/2026 09:05

I’m down to 3.75 and hoping to go to 2.5 soon. I have been maintaining since October last year. I am a bit scared about coming off completely although fasting and lots of exercise has become my norm now.

Sadteacher · 10/04/2026 10:09

@EdinaTheConfessor I am the same going up and down the same couple of pounds. But historically I’ve gone up, and up! So at least I am stable and maintaining even if I’d like to be 5lbs lower. And so much nicer to be bouncing around a healthy weight, not an obese one!

Tohaveandtohold · 11/04/2026 07:17

@ThankFuckTheSunIsHere 14 months without MJ here. Still weight training 5 days a week and today I weigh 9lb less than my last weight on the jab. Life without the jab is routine for me now as I only used it for 4 months and been off for a year and 2 months.

I now realise that it’s not one size fits all really, how we got here is different and if we’ll maintain without the jab will all be an individual experience so everyone just has to try for them selves.

I still weigh that one extra kilo compared to Dec 25 but I'm ok with that. Grateful to still be off. I continue to be mindful. I have spent so much on clothes!

Cantbesure · 17/04/2026 08:38

Hi all. Hope I’m ok to join this thread. I saw the link on the maintainers thread.
I was on MJ for 7 months and have been maintaining for 10 months off it. I felt I’d got into a good routine but over the last month I’ve put on half a stone which I just can’t shift. I’m struggling to ignore the food noise and bad snacking habits are back.

On a whim I thought I’d try and see if I could still get a prescription and I was surprised to see I could, so a 2.5 is winging its way to me today.

I have a mix of emotions about starting back again. I feel some guilt and apprehension. But I also want to nip this gain in the bud. And there’s a relief in knowing I’m back in the system and can order a pen if I need to.

SnacklessWonder · 17/04/2026 12:57

Checking in.

Came off MJ December 2024 after losing 3 stone in 4months.

Was 8st 11.6lb when I stopped and yesterday I weighed in at 8st 1.2lb 😦 which was a bit of a shocker even for me as I've been around 8st 3lb-8st5lb since last July.

Not trying to lose, just trying to maintain. Really pleased with how it's gone.

I am more mindful of what I eat, don't eat certain foods that I know bloat me and make me feel crap (pizza, pasta etc) and eat a lot more veggie based meals, grains, beans etc. I snack but make sure I have low calorie snack options in the house Still eat loads of chips and drink loads of wine though! Don't really exercise other than walking around 8,000 steps a day during working week and around 12,000-15,000 on a weekend day.
