Anyone interested in a post-MJ thread? For people coming off completely?

I wondered if anyone is coming off Mounjaro completely and looking to maintain or continue losing weight?

I'm half way through my last pen and coming off earlier than planned due to the price rise and fatigue with the whole process.

Thanks for the replies. I track calories on nutracheck and include my alcoholic drinks. Cook meals from scratch, no processed stuff. Don’t snack. I genuinely did very little differently on mj which makes me think it is more to do with the inflammation or something. I always maintain easily in between holidays and Christmas, it really is those key times where I am away from home, 5 lbs goes on each time. It’s so hard to lose it again!

What are your macros - protein carbs fat and fibre?

Look up “anti inflammatory diet”. I would also ask doctor to test for C reactive protein.

Do you have a bracket you are comfortable with? Half a stone over 8 weeks including a holiday is better than many I’ve seen!

Weirdly I’ve not been checking these, you have to press a different button on the app 😂
I’m amazed to find I’m over my protein and low in fibre. Well I never. Will see if I can tweak them and see if it makes a difference!
over 4 weeks my protein is 143%, calories 95% of recommended, fat 91% and fibre 47%.
Thanks for that, given me food for thought!

MeridaBrave · 06/11/2025 19:13

Protein should be over 100g (I aim for 150g) so prob not over. The more the better don’t decrease!

Fibre should be over 30g. Increasing should help.

Thank you so much for the positive message Flowers. My current goal is to maintain and take a break from MJ, focusing on my macros (I hit my 30g of fibre but am currently focusing on surpassing 90g of protein every day).

In the Spring I think I'll have to consider going back on MJ.

Can I join please
i stopped last week on advice of my Gp and the prescribers pharmacist as unfortunately I have suffered severe depression since being on it (never took more than 3.75mg) I’ve also lost a ridiculous amount of hair. I’m at target weight but want to maintain it. I’m tracking calories, focusing on protein, lifting weights and have a PT. I also have pcos. I’m nervous about maintaining and keeping on track so could use the support.

RightImDoingThis · 06/11/2025 20:25

Welcome @Thischarmlessgirl . I'm sorry to hear about the hair-loss. How long were you on it for?

OP posts:
Thischarmlessgirl · 06/11/2025 21:14

@RightImDoingThis 18 weeks and lost 10kg but half my head of hair too!

Thischarmlessgirl · 07/11/2025 07:17

Its been 17 days since my last jab.
weighed this morning and weight is the same which I’m pleased about.
Eating 1600 or thereabouts calories and minimum 100g of protein

@Thischarmlessgirl Well done on your weigh-in this week! But sorry to hear about the hairloss. Did you have quite a long style? Mine is shoulder length and I did consider getting a shorter style. Not sure if that would have helped.

@MeridaBrave do you mind sharing a bit about how you achieve more than 100g of protein a day? It's a real struggle for me, and I've even resorted to using protein powder.

OP posts:
Thischarmlessgirl · 09/11/2025 21:53

@RightImDoingThis it’s always been long and thick, I’m seriously thinking having a big chop to help it look a bit fuller now though. There’s still loads coming out every time I wash or brush it.
In terms of protein
I’m having, 3 eggs scrambled with smoked salmon for breakfast 26g
A banana and protein juice (not keen on shakes) for a snack 24g
Chicken breast with salad for lunch 34g
Greek yogurt and berries afternoon 12g
Steak and veg for dinner 30g (or chicken/salmon)
Its bloody hard work!

Fage 0%, tin tuna, tub cottage cheese, chicken breast, white fish (just buy cheap from farm foods), omelette using two chicks egg white etc and yes, ok to do protein powder.

RightImDoingThis · 09/11/2025 22:28

Yes, I'm not sure I could face eating that often, especially in terms of finding the time on a weekday. In terms of protein I tend to have a breakfast based on Greek Yogurt (or protein powder in milk), a lunch based on fish or eggs and a supper based on meat. But. I find it difficult eating meat every day so some suppers are still veggie-based like bean chilli.

@MeridaBrave what do you mean "yes, ok to do protein powder"? Would you mind sharing a typical day's meals like @Thischarmlessgirl did? I'm thinking I need to be eating more often.

Breakfast
250 Fage 0% 5g soaked chia and 75-100g berries
2 coffee with skimmed milk

Apple mid morning

Lunch - massive salad with olive oil 5g and balsamic with 30g protein eg tin tuna or omelette with eggs and two chics egg white so it’s 30g protein

Mid afternoon - protein shake 30g

Dinner - chicken breast stir fry with loads of veg
or pan fried white fish with loads of steamed veg 4G protein etc

extra - mini twister (!!) and couple of squares Lindt 85%

RightImDoingThis · 13/11/2025 20:29

Thank you Merida. Looks like 30g of protein for each of your meals and the snack. I am hitting about the same, apart from I only eat three times a day and my breakfast is smaller and lower protein.

I've been reading a lot about coming off the jabs, and what I hadn't realised was the amount of inflammation people experience returning. And, I didn't realise that inflammation could easily be 4lb of water. That's crazy, but explains the aches and pains returning to my joints. Then there's water retention from eating more and having more food in your gut. The opposite of the first week's massive loss you get when you start a diet, which can be 2 or 3lb? So, whilst I accept I may have eaten at a surplus, I'm feeling better that I haven't put on 8lb worth of fat.

@RightImDoingThis looks like you’ve stabilised the last few weeks. Well done! I think I have too. I wish I’d given myself a half a stone buffer for this reason as I’ve stabilised 5/6lbs over my lowest weight. My bmi is 26 something so debating a couple of pens to get in the healthy zone. But I’ve been debating them a month or two already! I’m so indecisive.

I think some of the inflammation (but possibly not all) can be mitigated with an anti inflammatory diet and a lot of exercise - but yes I know many fitness influencers are microdosing (I think along lines of making a 2.5mg pen last for a couple of months, or many even a lower dose still) for the anti inflammatory effects.

RightImDoingThis · 14/11/2025 08:17

@Sadteacher we're pretty much in the same place in terms of progress and thinking (although I think my BMI's a bit higher).

@MeridaBrave my diet is pretty good in terms of inflammation (apart from the fizzy drinks - grrr!). I never took the dose very high, I think the highest it got to was 4mg.

OP posts:
Sadteacher · 21/11/2025 17:54

Another week and I weigh the same…. I am really starting to feel like a normal weight person! I am feeling positive I can maintain over Christmas with increased exercise.

RightImDoingThis · 21/11/2025 18:05

I've been a bit poorly, feeling nauseous and not eating properly so think that probably explains the loss this week.
