Anyone interested in a post-MJ thread? For people coming off completely?

I wondered if anyone is coming off Mounjaro completely and looking to maintain or continue losing weight?

I'm half way through my last pen and coming off earlier than planned due to the price rise and fatigue with the whole process.

@SnacklessWonder I have just started on MJ, so great to see someone that has beat the statistics and actually maintained! Well done!

dis you just continue tracking calories after ? How soon did your normal appetite came back ?

SnacklessWonder · 17/04/2026 17:04

Not really tracking @MyGardenDaisiesjust being more aware of what I’m eating and being more aware of calories are in food because some snacks are so scarily high in calories!

Hunger etc came back but it was no worse than it was before. And now I’ve lost the weight I find that easy motivation because I really don’t want to have to lose the weight again. I’m less bothered by the hunger now, I just ignore it. When I do feel at risk of overeating is when I’m bored or fed up so I take myself out for a walk or eat a few mints and that distracts me from it!

I was thinking about the fact that “it’s alright to be hungry“ today 👍

I’m only on week 3 of mounjaro cold turkey and can definitely feel my hunger returning at times. But I guess it’s not entirely out of my system.

Have completely chewed my fingers to pieces - had stopped biting my nails on WLIs - a life long habit for me. I guess the quiet brain effect helped with that too.

Took me a while to find the thread!
How is everybody getting on? I’m back from a holiday where I ate everything under the sun and only a pound on. I did lots of walking though, must have helped. I was expecting a 4/5lb gain as that’s what usually happens.
I’m realising to maintain is basically the same as when I was on a diet before. I have to be very careful 80% of the time to stay the same. I am short which doesn’t help. 10 months completely off MJ now. I’ve stopped thinking I’ll go back on the jabs to lose the last half a stone and am just enjoying being a reasonable size 12.

Happylittleday · 31/05/2026 09:14

i Have a stone to go then coming off probably taper down rather than cold turkey. I never wanted to be on it forever want to take responsibility for my own actions and I have defo learnt lots about how I was eating and living to how I should be eating. It’s so good to read others coming off journeys too well done losers you have all done well keep up the good work. Recently fit in to a size 12 so chuffed to bits

Hi hope it is Ok to join you. Having to stop due to gallstones. Also cost. Have lost 5 stone slowly over 2 yrs so a bit disappointed.

Been maintaining on 5mg for around 6 months but put about a stone on since stopping about a month ago, however I am on some more meds which annoyingly cause weight gain. Makes things a bit more difficult.

I've gone from BMI 40 to BMI 24, now at around BMI 28. I've been thinking about it and because of the situation with the meds I am just going to aim for maintaining / at least not going to BMI 30plus for now.

I'm feeling Ok where I am now, and definitely better than BMI40 was. Going to try swimming perhaps and walking, and possibly intermittent fasting (but that is not meant to be so good with gallstones.

how is everyone doing?

I came off end of March so 2 months ago. Still maintaining thank goodness.

Things that help are:

Gym at least twice a week
Exercise class
continuing with lowish carb, high protein eating.
religiously eating before coffee every day
Keeping cals low - under 1500
Getting enough sleep
no upfs
I have had a couple of days where i’ve drunk some alcohol with friends and worried that would knock me off balance, but just returned to the healthy habits again the next day and has been fine.

i go up by about 3lbs when i get my period but it comes off afterwards

still weighing in every day.

eating things like:

greek yog .& fruit for breakfast
miso soup for a snack or bananas/ peanut butter and corn cakes

Lunch - tuna salad/ bean salad/ no mayo

dinner - tofu stir fry / ratatouille and veggie sausage/ fish and veg

currently obsessed with tofy and dark
chocolate mouse - check it out!

Off now for a few months I think. Haven’t gained or lost, keeping at a steady 58kg BMI 20.7.
It’s definitely a lot harder. The food noise is there and at times I experience a gnawing hunger. I do believe those of us who struggle with weight have abnormally fast gastric emptying. I’d rarely experienced feeling full until Mounjaro. I also realised that most things people I knew were chronically constipated. Interesting.
What has helped me is weighing myself every day and aiming for a 16-18 hour fasting window most days. If I notice a half kilo gain I cut back for a couple of days. Worked out I need about 1500 cals to maintain.

Sadteacher · 06/06/2026 07:02

@DontKillSteve I weigh daily too. I started 16:8 this week too as haven’t done that for a couple of years. Need to save calories where I can being a shortie.
