Anybody just starting Wegovy?

Hi all, been reading some threads with interest but wondering if there’s anybody on Wegovy that would like to share progress? Or any stories / tips etc from people further along.

About me, I am 44 and just not losing the excess weight like I used to and so have finally taken the plunge and started on Wegovy.

I guess I chose Wegovy due to the proposed price increases of Mounjaro, also, I thought Wegovy might be a bit more slow and steady as I only want to lose a few stone. Although I could be wrong about that, but we’ll see.

I have ordered through Juniper and they sent me a set of scales which pair to the app so I don’t need to manually record my weight, it does it for me.

I’m not sure how accurate the scales are though so I will also probably keep an eye on my own scales.

I had thought my starting weight was 12 stone 7 but I weighed on Juniper scales just now and it says 12 stone 10. I think for the purposes of tracking and discussion here I’ll just use 12 stone 10.

This is almost the biggest I have ever been. Following the birth of my third child I was 13 stone and I managed to get down to 11 and a half, but despite my efforts, I’m now back up at 12 stone 10.

I took first jab this evening, seemed straightforward. Don’t feel any different yet. I could eat, but not starving, going to try not to have anything this evening although I think that will probably require sheer will power as probably too soon for the jab to have any effect.

So,
Starting weight: 12 stone 10
Current weight: 12 stone 10
Waist: 30.5 inches
Target weight: 10 stone 9

Smile

I have massively plateaued as well, up to 2.4 now and stuck at a 23lb loss but barely any movement on the scales since February. Like @blondebombsite13i’m resetting foodwise and concentrating on protein and fruit for snacks. Really need to build in some weight training but I find it incredibly boring and prefer to do something that involves more movement.

I lost 2lb of my 5lb but then put a 1lb on. I'm back to my - losing and gaining the same pound for weeks, which was the reason I went on WG in January. However, I'm choosing healthy foods, not buying crap to tempt us and have upped my swimming.

As long as I can stay under 12stone I'm happy.

I did look into how I could get another prescription but they want photos etc again and I look far too slim now to pass that check. Plus I can't think about the injections as something you take when you put a few pounds on - that's what willpower is for.

Morning, how is everybody doing? @Mummatashhow are you doing?

I wrote a big reply to you last week but it disappeared, so I rewrote it again very briefly.

But the update today is that I saw 10 stone 5.9 on scales this morning, so a new low Smile

(strangely, when I weigh myself using the juniper scales syncing directly to the app, the figure recorded in app is always slightly lower, so it has recorded as 10 stone 5.7, but scales showed .9)

Either way I’m happy.

im still on 0.5ml, and I’m still doing it every 7 days. I tried stretching it to 10 days and it didn’t go well. It was things like I would jump in the car to go somewhere and would immediately think “I’m hungry, need to eat something before I leave or find somewhere while I’m out”. Whereas on Wegovy I can just go and realise later that I haven’t eaten, as I just didn’t think about it.

but I know that’s me relying too much on the drug, I know I need to work on diet and habits, and I am trying.

still trying some strength training at the gym, little and (fairly) often.

Overall though, still absolutely delighted at what I have lost, the fact that it was slow and steady so no loose skin. Loving being able to wear what I want rather than what will fit.

Not necessarily wanting to lose much more but would like to have a bit of wiggle room. When I hover at 10 stone7, it doesn’t take much for the scales to shoot up to 10.9….and from there to slide back to 11 stone.

so if I could get to a steady weight of 10 stone 4, or even 10 stone 5, I feel that gives me a bit of leeway.

however, I’m aware that I need to build muscle and that it’s not all about numbers on a scale.

Anywwy, feeling good, hopefully you guys are all doing well.

does anybody have any recipes or tips or anything they would like to share?

I often make overnight oats for breakfast (oats, chia seeds, Greek yoghurt, rasperries), it’s nice but I actually don’t know how many calories is in it.

got some “breakfast pot” things from Lidl this morning and they are lovely. In the yogurt aisle, haven’t fully looked at the nutritional info yet but the traffic lights are mostly green.

Happy weekend all x

Good to hear from you @blondebombsite13 .Well done ! Sounds as if you doing really well.
Im now 10st 8 lbs (29lbs down ) which I’m very pleased with . Like you I’m benefiting from wearing clothes that fit and I feel good in . I still have a bit to go to be my happy / healthy weight .
Im going to just go with the specialist GP advice I linked a while back ,which is stay on a GLP1 for at least a year before I start reducing it .
I’m still logging what I eat on the Weightwatchers app which is included with my provider .But more about making sure I get the protein in ,than calories counting ( I don’t want to lose muscle and bone ) .I m doing more strength training at the gym to help this as well.
I do already feel a bit anxious though about coming off the meds ,because I don’t want to be on them forever ,but I don’t want the weight to pile back on either.
I don’t have any recipes to share I’m afraid ,but I will be checking out the yoghurt aisle in Lidl .
Have a good weekend all.
