Anybody just starting Wegovy?

blondebombsite13 · 27/08/2025 19:45

Hi all, been reading some threads with interest but wondering if there’s anybody on Wegovy that would like to share progress? Or any stories / tips etc from people further along.

About me, I am 44 and just not losing the excess weight like I used to and so have finally taken the plunge and started on Wegovy.

I guess I chose Wegovy due to the proposed price increases of Mounjaro, also, I thought Wegovy might be a bit more slow and steady as I only want to lose a few stone. Although I could be wrong about that, but we’ll see.

I have ordered through Juniper and they sent me a set of scales which pair to the app so I don’t need to manually record my weight, it does it for me.

I’m not sure how accurate the scales are though so I will also probably keep an eye on my own scales.

I had thought my starting weight was 12 stone 7 but I weighed on Juniper scales just now and it says 12 stone 10. I think for the purposes of tracking and discussion here I’ll just use 12 stone 10.

This is almost the biggest I have ever been. Following the birth of my third child I was 13 stone and I managed to get down to 11 and a half, but despite my efforts, I’m now back up at 12 stone 10.

I took first jab this evening, seemed straightforward. Don’t feel any different yet. I could eat, but not starving, going to try not to have anything this evening although I think that will probably require sheer will power as probably too soon for the jab to have any effect.

So,
Starting weight: 12 stone 10
Current weight: 12 stone 10
Waist: 30.5 inches
Target weight: 10 stone 9

That's really good. Well done

Crispsandwichfortea · 28/03/2026 09:47

Hi all. I started wegovy just after Christmas 2025.

I have just moved up to 1.7mg. I have a lot of weight on and feel I am eating so much less but still less than 1 stone lost. Is this normal?

And has anyone got any tips for the constipation? I'm drinking lots of fluid and have increased my daily steps.
I'm struggling a bit and seriously considering stopping.

Any success stories would also be very welcome 🙏

pelagra · 28/03/2026 10:08

I've found Laxido quite effective. I take one sachet a day until things start to work again, then one every other day. Even with that, I'm still aware of much slower bowel transit, with smaller and firmer poos (sorry)

On a different tack, has anyone had a single week's jab not take effect? I jabbed in my thigh ten days ago. After a couple of days I felt all the side effects vanish, and was seriously hungry. I took the next dose as usual on Thursday morning and the usual slight nausea, tiredness and mild tummy discomfort are back, with a bit of appetite suppression.

I can think of two possible explanations. I'm still slightly tender around the site on my thigh. Could my body have held on to the fluid there, a bit like a bruise? Or is it because I took Benylin cough suppressant last week?

I’ve just noticed that the juniper app has very helpfully updated the functionality of the chart, so you can know change the date range.

so these charts show my 6 and 3 month progress.

as you can see, the 3 month is quite disheartening!!!! But I guess it’s to be expected as I’ve already lost 15% of my weight since I started.

As an aside, I mentioned it a while back, but just wanted to repeat in case it’s useful - does everybody know that you do not need to put your full pen in your sharps box? I was originally doing this until I found out that you only need to put the needle tips in. And you can recycle the pens. Which I feel much happier about.

My box was nearly full, as the pens are so bulky, and I didn’t know where to dispose of my sharps box. I was then able to (carefully) fish the pens out, and my box has loads of room in it now, so it’s not a concern. It’ll take ages to fill as the needles are so small.

I requested a pen recycling box and two were sent out to me. I haven’t filled the first yet but when it’s full, I just pop in the post box.

The link should be in one of my previous posts but if anyone would like it and can’t see it I will look it up again.

@blondebombsite13 When the pen recycling boxes are delivered is the packaging discreet?

blondebombsite13 · 29/03/2026 09:23

Hi @Futuremeneedsthisyes I think so - it was just a white envelope from what I remember. I don’t remember it saying Wegovy or anything on it.

Well done all returnees and new starters .
Side effects of constipation have been very normal for me , exactly as you describe @blondebombsite13 ! I’ve had to resort to fybogel a couple of times .
I used to have the most horrible heartburn and gastro reflux , but that seems to have settled down now and I almost never feel nauseous. I’ve been on 1mg pen for 4 months now , so finally getting somewhere .
I m still losing weight ,albeit very slowly .Currently around 3lbs per month .
Update for me :
SW - 12 st 10
CW -10 st 13
goal - 10 st

Sunday is jab and weigh day for me . Today I’ve gone into the 10 st range which I’m delighted with . ( I was last 10 st something 12 years ago!) .
Whilst I’m still losing I’m staying on 1 mg .( I’m with CHEQUP) , and every month they keep suggesting I increase my dose to 1.7 to increase weight loss .
The cynic in me thinks.’ Yes and increase your bank balance and my side effects ‘
Good luck everyone, have a great week . Stay off the chocolate eggs 🙂.

Mummatash · 29/03/2026 13:18

@Crispsandwichfortea .I think that my story is a success .
It took me 11 weeks before I had lost a stone in weight , and I was posting how disappointed I was with how slow it was …
But slow is good ..
Im nearly 2 stone down with 1 more to go . I linked an article on here about weight loss jabs about a month ago . That article really helped me to accept that it will be slow and that it will help in the long run to keep it off .
Good luck with your ‘journey ‘ ( I hate that terminology)
Dont give up x

BG2015 · 29/03/2026 13:32

SW 12st 9.9lb
CW 11st 5.8 lb
TW. 11st

Ive lost 18.1lb since January.

I did 4 weeks of 0.25, 3 weeks of (horrendous) 0.5mg - fourth dose was disposed of. Then 4 weeks back on 0.25mg.

Last 2 weeks the weight has been slower to come off but took my foot off the pedal a bit food wise.

My last dose was 7 days ago and I've now cancelled. I'm going on holiday in 4 weeks and very much doubt I will lose 5.8lb in that time - but I shall certainly keep going.

I have no food suppression at all now but do still feel full after a small meal so my portions will remain small, still don't fancy alcohol really which is good. Still drinking lots of water which I'll continue.

Scary to go it alone.

ritala · 02/04/2026 13:56

How are you getting on @blondebombsite13?

blondebombsite13 · 02/04/2026 14:08

oh no I just wrote a huge post, has it disappeared?

blondebombsite13 · 02/04/2026 14:12

Oh how frustrating @ritalai wrote a big reply and it didn’t post!

ok, to summarise:

I feel great at this weight. I don’t think I want to lose more, I think I need to tone up and get stronger

feel very grateful that I’ve managed to achieve this on such a low dose (0.5. Doses go up to 7.4mg!)

only side effect has been constipation but I haven’t really managed to resolve it so I do feel I need to come off the meds at some point soon

worry about regaining all the weight when I stop.

machine at gym said I’d lost a bit of fat and gained a bit of muscle since start of the year which is encouraging. Chart below shows very little (to no) movement since start of the year.

frustrated that my original post didn’t work!

how is everybody else doing?

OP posts:
ritala · 02/04/2026 17:36

@blondebombsite13! Wow, this is amazing and really encouraging. I am hoping to start my journey on Wegovy next week. I’ve not been on WLI before so a little nervous but excited about the benefits. I also have an autoimmune disease so hoping it will help with my symptoms there too.

I have some Laxido in stock! I’m also worried about things going the other way as well. Both bad! Thank you for sharing your journey on here, it’s really helpful to see. Also encouraging that you didn’t go up to the high doses. I’d like to be like that too. Will you taper off slowly or micro dose? Or is that the same thing? I’m still learning!

blondebombsite13 · 02/04/2026 21:10

@ritalaive heard the word microdosing but dont know anything about it, i think its a bit of a gimmick? Also maybe just relates to Mounjaro as opposed to Wegovy?

I don’t know, not sure.

Anyway, I’m with juniper and have some kind of check in / review coming up apparently so will speak to someone then. But I think I will just have to come off it. I’m only on 0.5, and I don’t think there would be much point going down to 0.25, as it’s such a low starting dose….but I don’t know, I’ll see what they say.

Good luck with your journey. Everybody is different but I think the constipation is the only side effect I had. In th very early days I had a bit of diarhea / urgency and was a bit nervous about being in work in case I was taken short, but that really was very short lived. First couple of weeks maybe.

Good luck!

Hello, please can I join in?

I’ve just ordered my first we govy pen from
med express. I’m 160cm and 84kg - far too much and it’s damaging to my confidence and health. I need to lower my cholesterol and I hope this is the answer.

A couple of year ago I tried mounjaro for a month and horrific headaches. I hope this is better. Another big change is I no longer have a gall bladder.

I am going to read through this thread and get some tips.

amargaritaplease · 03/04/2026 18:51

I’m going to order it I can’t control my eating so I hope this helps

blondebombsite13 · 04/04/2026 09:36

amargaritaplease · 03/04/2026 18:51

I’m going to order it I can’t control my eating so I hope this helps

I’m sure it will @amargaritaplease

Let me know if you have any questions, and I’ve dropped you a DM x

The latest from me is that I think I have accepted that 10.7 is the lowest I am going to get. My body seems to want to stop at this weight, and I don’t want to increase dosage, so I am happy to stay at this weight.

I need to really work on building good habits (as I have let them slip) and think about coming off the Wegovy at some point.

it’s strange because I never thought I would lose this 2 stone. And I’m delighted I have. I’m fitting into old clothes and throwing out frumpy clothes that I hope to never need again. It’s amazing to have a choice of what to wear and not just “whatever fits and looks the least bad”…..……

…..but on the flip side I can also be very complacent about it and still do have some very bad habits. Which is disappointing, but it’s obviously part of who I am and how I got in this position in th first place.

I’d love to be a salad eating jogger. Unfortunately I’m a tea drinking, biscuit eating reader. And I guess things like that are too fundamental to change. Just need to do what I can! Moderation and all that!

Happy Easter everyone, hope everyone is doing well xxx

Mumstheword1983 · 04/04/2026 10:28

Thanks for the update OP. We are very similar. I could have written that myself.

I lost another 1lb this week so that's 5 lbs in 2 weeks and I already feel like I look like I've lost more. My husband said the same. My ideal weight according to online sources is 10 stone. That would be over another stone to go and I just feel I would look too thin at that. I look back at photos of when I think I look great and I know I was closer to 11 stone. (I'm 5"6 approx).

Good luck and happy Easter everyone. I'm off out for drinks and lunch in the city. Will be the first time since on this so hopefully goes ok.

Teensknowitall · 04/04/2026 16:06

I have read everyone stories and haven’t posted until now so have been silently hanging about in the background. It’s lovely as everybody seems so supportive as we are all in the same boat .

I’ve been on Wegovy since 7th February and I’ve lost 19 pounds. Really pleased with this have been on 0.25 for one month and then 0.5 for six weeks now and will probably do 0.5 for the next month as I’m still losing about 2 pounds per week. I’ll make sure I fill up on protein and have definitely upped my exercise as well but it’s just nice to have that little bit of extra help with the injection .

One thing I will say is that it certainly pays to look around for the best deal I started off on med express and for my last prescription I ordered from numan as somebody on here had a discount code. This was definitely worth doing as the code was for £100 off. I also have a £100 off code now if anyone is interested, please PM me. Good luck everyo
ne.

Morning all 👋

I am reluctant to speak too soon and jinx it….but for
those struggling with constipation, I think Movicol may be the answer.

I had been using fybogel, as for some reason I had it in my head that this was the answer.

But I spoke to the Juniper AI tool (I don’t have ChatGPT but that’s basically what the juniper chat function is (also - you can ask it anything, doesn’t have to be about weight loss, so it’s very useful Grin)

Anyway, from “chatting” to June, I realised that my problem isn’t a lack of fibre (which fybogel treats), it’s just the speed of things moving through, which Wegovy does slow down.

The longer things are in there, the harder and drier they get (sorry Envy).

I found that fybogel was making me very bloated and gassy.

Have been on movicol for a few days now and have had two very successful bathroom visits.

Fingers crossed!!!!

We are going on holiday on Thursday and for some reason things slow down a lot for me on holiday, so I’m glad to have (hopefully) found something that works.

Hope everybody has had a lovely Easter!!

OP posts:
pelagra · 08/04/2026 09:41

Yes, I've found Laxido, which is basically the same thing very effective. I seem to get away with only taking it in the first half of the week.

I did discover that an Easter egg has much the same effect, but that probably isn't a good idea long term.

I am a little worried though that Wegovy is meant to slow transit, so by accelerating it I'm working against the benefits.

Thanks for sharing - that is sooo useful. I'm very much the same - eating loads of fibre and still v backed up some weeks. I have just bought DulcoEase but haven't taken it yet - wonder if Movicol might be the answer.

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 08/04/2026 21:51

Hi all,

I’ve just injected my first dose, I’ve got everything crossed that I don’t have horrific side effects 🤞🏻

blondebombsite13 · 08/04/2026 22:18

@DumpyKateim not sure, but I think dulcoease (if it’s like dulcolax?) stimulates the bowel? I think it’s considered quite an intense form of laxative. And you therefore should not use them long term.

movicol / laxido is gentler as it his draws water into the bowel to keep everything soft.

so it might be a better option to start off with and see how you get on?

@pelagrai see what you mean, buy I think it’s fine. All laxido does is draw water into the bowel to keep things soft. It won’t affect the slower emptying of the stomach.

I misplaced my movicol so haven’t taken any yesterday or this morning. Had one this evening, hoping things don’t go back to how they were.

OP posts:
pelagra · 09/04/2026 09:56

I don't take it every day, I think once things have got moving you only need a dose every other day
