@Autumnflowers2I have been with them since the start of the year. It’s says it out of stoke but they accepted my order today but didn’t at the weekend. I used to pay between £180 and £200 depending on discount code so I think that’s the new price. They use Royal Mail for delivery or you can pick it up from an Asda that has a pharmacy.

SilenceInside · 27/08/2025 19:22

@eibbed999twisting but not clicking does sound like the mechanism inside was broken, as that’s what happens when you deliberately break it with the hard twist.

@Autumnflowers2 I’ve seen some discussion of an alteration submitted for the pen design that reduces the volume of liquid spare to be only just enough for 4 lots of priming. I did think that it might happen at some point given the very generous additional amount that’s in the pen currently.

Mmm, I think you might be right @SilenceInside, and it's very unfortunate as I certainly wasn't trying to do a hard twist! Now I have to wonder if the rest of the liquid is actually okay to use with a syringe...any words of experience most welcome!

@SecretNameforMN you've been very brave today. Well done you. You're not alone, we are all here for you xx

Thanks for replying.
With DPD I get a window of an hour where I know I need to be in to receive it ,so was looking for company with same delivery.

I bit the bullet and ordered my normal 15mg pen with Asda. It cost me £302 and will be delivered between the 7th and 14th September

That's so much more money @WhineAndWine1 , but exactly what I am going to be facing. I tried to titrate down to 12.5 mg last week and felt very hungry. Not sure if it was psychological or not.

WhineAndWine1 · 27/08/2025 20:16

@Autumnflowers2it’s recorded delivery so you don’t need to be in, they can just leave it in a safe place.

Thank you for the new thread. I’ve just been paid so trying to order my next pen (I couldn’t afford to buy early or stock up) and everywhere seems to be out of stock for 10mg, and the ones that aren’t won’t accept new customers so I don’t know what I’ll do now. I only have one dose left in my current pen, was hoping I might be able to get my next one before the prices go up but it’s not looking likely 😞.

I went into our village chemist and asked if they can prescribe MJ . Had never occurred to me before…chemist 2 mins from my house!!
Had appointment with pharmacist and left with MJ 5 mgs . Has enough stock for next month as well. Win win .

Yes, it's fine to use the liquid still inside.
It's sterile. I used the entire contents of my last pen with needles and syringes, as I wanted a series of different doses.

Have you got plenty of syringes and needles?

Yippee, my first NSV of the new thread. I picked up a pair of size 16-18 pyjamas in the sale today, thinking I'd put them away for a few months. Well by eck, they only flippin fit me. I'm a size 20 on a good day, and I know they have stretch, but I'm taking the win. Only 5 months ago, I was squeezing myself into a size 24/26. MJ, I bloody love you 😍

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 27/08/2025 21:02

@SecretNameforMN you've done well. You bit the bullet and stood on the scales.
Your weight will now start to decrease.!

Meds which I had ready in advance were:

Peptac liquid.

Cyclizine.

Dimenhydrinate.

Loperamide.

Senna.

I'll post some links in a minute.

I love this thread, it’s great for motivation. Well done everybody on Weight and NSVs.

My small NSV today after losing a stone is that I managed a day on my feet including a lot of walking with relative ease and was able to keep up with the group.
onwards and downwards!!

eibbed999 · 27/08/2025 22:12

Yes, @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne, I always use a syringe for the last bit and I'm ok with the process. I suppose I was just a little worried about whether the liquid could be contaminated if the mechanism broke. Though I am a particularly paranoid person!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 27/08/2025 22:19

@SecretNameforMN things can only get better from here on and you’ve been very brave to take that first giant step.
I made sure that I had plenty of protein rich food in the fridge, bought Imodium (never used) and nothing else really, I just thought I’d play the waiting game to see how I felt. Hope you are ok side effects wise, fingers are crossed for you.

Quitepossibly · 27/08/2025 22:34

Re medication to get in (sorry, can't remember who asked), I'd recommend Imodium (or similar) although fortunately I haven't really had diarrhoea, Gaviscon or Rennies, and (for the couple of times I've had cramping IBS-type pain) I swear by Buscopan. I've also started taking Psyllium Husk capsules as my digestion was very sluggish with a tendency to be constipated, and these have certainly helped settle my stomach and make trips to the loo much more comfortable!

TheBeesTrees · 27/08/2025 23:41

One medication to consider is pepto bismol for sulphur burps, although I found nexium type tablets seemed to work for me as well, and which might have a better shelf life than PB, especially once open. It also depends on how close you are to other people generally and if it would bother you from that point of view. Not everyone gets them, but they are unpleasant if they happen!

Like the others I didnt buy a huge amount in before hand but we did have immodium and own brand stuff, I have anti nausea tablets from a previous med and was told I could use with mj, and one of my pain reliefs for my other condition has the side effect of constipation so I wasnt too worried about loose bowels anyway.

Two NSVs for me are that I've found I'm not having to use my strong pain meds as much! I'm also going out for walks most evenings, theyre very slow and very short, but I know what I'm like and if I start off all guns blazing then in 4/5/6 weeks I'll give up, so Im trying to build it up more sustainably.

That's interesting! How much did you pay? I'd love to be collecting my order rather than relying on deliveries which need to be signed for.

Hello!

So despite being on a study Shemed are shifting prices so I don't have the two pens grace I thought I had.

They're encouraging a move to wegovy like many other pharmacies. I'm mixed how I feel about that.

I'll do one more month I think and then see what the prices are everywhere.

That's awful of them, doing that when you were supposed to be on a fixed price throughout.

How easy would it be to get out of Shemed? If you start buying your MJ elsewhere, at least you won't be wasting the golden dose with each pen.

My friend sent me this picture of myself, conducting the local dementia choir today.

It's really the first time I've seen what I look like, other than in a mirror. What a difference from 20 months ago, when I was more than 8 stone heavier.

Keep going, everyone. You can do it!

And @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden (and any others who are with Shemed)
I often make this comment, but here it is again:

In a 15mg pen, the amount of MJ left over after you've used the first four doses is a whopping 20mg (0.8ml) which is a whole 5mg pen.
