Hello shiny new thread. Greetings one and all 👋

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 26/08/2025 21:27

NSV for me today:

I'm conducting a dementia choir and the woman who started it only met me about 8 weeks ago.

She was open-mouthed with amazement when I told her that I used to be 8st heavier.

We started talking about the BMI scale and she told me that she was regarded as OBESE on it, as I am myself. She doesn't even look overweight to me, let alone obese. Mind you, she hasn't been on a diet anyway.

We didn't mention MJ 🤣

Thanks for the new thread!

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I actually called and got movicol from the GP. Was planning to start using it this week. When this bout of diarrhoea finally stops I'll start having some daily I think. Thank you

afaloren · 26/08/2025 21:49

Thanks for the new thread.

Oh @PearlsPearl are you sure you won’t make the concert? That’s such a shame.

Congrats to everyone on their fabulous NSVs!

Doggymummar · 26/08/2025 22:06

Hope you make it to the concert 🤞🏼
Re the Movicol - when I’m constipated I take it three times a day for one day then one sachet the following day then wait a day to see if I go, if I still haven’t been I’ll take another two the following day. The balancing act is because everything slows down and that includes Movicol! I found that out the ‘hard’ way by taking three sachets for three days on the trot then couldn’t get off the loo! It’s definitely been trial and error. Once you’ve figured it out, one sachet a day should do the trick. I’ve got used to the taste now thank god.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 26/08/2025 22:45

@mamabeeboo and @wafflingdreamer those are lovely nsvs 😍

my daughter took a photo of me on a walk on Monday, it was taken from behind and I didn’t recognise myself, it was so odd, I looked and for a split second thought ‘who’s that’, then realised it’s me! We’ll gloss over the saggy elbows and varicose veins though, they can belong to someone else 😂

Finally got my 7.5mg pen approved from Medino. They actually called me for the first time ever, asked me some questions and apologised for the delay. It's now been dispatched, but because I was so annoyed with them and had no clue what was going on, I also submitted an order to e-surgery. That hasn't been approved as yet, but if it is, I'll end up with 2 pens. I can live with that, they'll keep! Loving all the NSVs and pics, and hope you feel better soon @PearlsPearl.

TheBeesTrees · 26/08/2025 23:24

Thank you for the new thread!

@Iwouldratherbesinging You look amazing, and I love your hair! Your legs look so defined!

MummyInTheNecropolis · 26/08/2025 23:48

Thank you for the new thread. I’ve just been paid so trying to order my next pen (I couldn’t afford to buy early or stock up) and everywhere seems to be out of stock for 10mg, and the ones that aren’t won’t accept new customers so I don’t know what I’ll do now. I only have one dose left in my current pen, was hoping I might be able to get my next one before the prices go up but it’s not looking likely 😞.

UsernameShmusername2024 · 27/08/2025 00:17

Thanks for the new thread. NSV for me today - I went to see a show and didn't worry about the seat beforehand! And it was comfortable!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 27/08/2025 00:45

@Iwouldratherbesinging you look fabulous!

Have you tried going through monj to check availability? My friend managed to get a 10mg and a 12.5mg pen from curely. I hope you manage to find one

WafflingDreamer · 27/08/2025 06:21

I'm still not sure what im going to do when the prices go up massively. I can't really justify more than about £200 which looks to be around 7.5mg. I think I have 11 doses of 15mg in my fridge so that would take me up to the end of October then if prices are still crazy high I guess I'll have to start dropping down the doses

eibbed999 · 27/08/2025 07:29

Week 23 (I think!) weigh and jab day. I'm now back at the weight I was pre-holidays, and while it's frustrating to have gained, it's also something of a joy that I now believe I can lose it again. That it was just a blip, one of the many ups and downs I'll have on this long journey - pre MJ I always reached a certain stage where any gain resulted in me going binge-crazy and eating the whole of Tesco. I'm still a pound away from the 17s, but hopefully next time! I did have a wobble recently and thought I was going to self sabotage (we're all so scared of ourselves after years of failure!) but I moved up to 7.5mg and now seem to have some control back. I've started to get a lot of compliments now, and this is often a dangerous time for me - I think in the past I've got complacent and then slipped.

I was quite weepy and down yesterday for various reasons I won't bore you with, but I still definitely feel the lack of comfort eating. I didn't realise how much I lost myself in food and how much of an emotional crutch it was until it was removed.

Well done everyone!

SW: 307lbs
CW: 252lbs

eibbed999 · 27/08/2025 07:33

So sorry @WafflingDreamer, it's all so anxiety making isn't it? I'm hoping it will all calm down and we just need to ride out the storm!

TragicMuse · 27/08/2025 07:33

Week 26, 7.5mg

SW 19st 4lbs (Jan 2025, pre-MJ)
SW on MJ 18st 11.5lbs (1 Mar 2025)
CW 15st 2.5lbs
Loss this week 1.5lb
Total loss 57.5lbs

Interim GW (set by Nutracheck!) 13st 10lbs

This week felt really hard, I don’t know why, but everything was slower and harder.

NSV: I’ve been trying on more old clothes, including a denim jacket I was going to sell on Vinted. It didn’t get any interest so I took it down. And now it fits, so that’s a win! I’m a bit gutted about some of the clothes I sold over the years, they’d fit me now, but I’ll let it go!! And buy new things when the time comes. 😀

AND all my super-fancy bras are about to come back into play and that really makes me very happy!

MummyInTheNecropolis · 27/08/2025 08:11

Thanks @WafflingDreameri did go through monj but they’re not entirely up to date with stock availability, curely are out of stock for 10mg now, however I have just placed an order with Dr. Frank’s, also on the monj site, they seem to have stock so hopefully this will go through 🤞. Was more expensive than what I would usually pay but still lower than the September prices so I’m keeping everything crossed that it will show up!

PearlsPearl · 27/08/2025 09:15

Morning all. Definitely no Chappell Roan for me tonight, I've been up all night on and off the toilet 😭I am beyond gutted.

PearlsPearl · 27/08/2025 09:16

@Iwouldratherbesinging how wonderful! You look so good and small!

@eibbed999 I really relate, losing our emotional crutch/vice is so hard. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better about things now.

Mum2Fergus · 27/08/2025 09:30

Thanks for new thread…our 7th no less!! Place marked for weekend weigh in x

SecretNameforMN · 27/08/2025 09:40

I'm also surprised we are at Thread 7. In fact I was surprised to find the first thread, which revealed that there were other MN members who were more than 10 stone overweight. Although I have read hundreds of threads over the years, I genuinely thought I was the only one this big because nobody mentioned it on any thread I read.

So I am grateful to the people who developed weight loss injections not only for the drug itself but for bringing "my tribe" out of the woodwork and into these threads where we can feel a sense of sisterhood and mutual understanding.

flipent · 27/08/2025 09:42

SW 20st 3lbs (mid July 2025)
CW 18st 7lbs
Total loss 24lbs

Averaging 4lb a week loss, which is a lot. Was expecting it to slow by now. I know I should be happy - but I'm also a little worried as it feels too fast.

SecretNameforMN · 27/08/2025 09:45

My first pen has still not arrived in the post.

I am 11 days into an almost-keto diet. The big thing for me was going cold turkey on chocolate, which was my only treat, my comfort, my addiction, my escape, my guilty pleasure.

After weeks of being told they are all permanently "too busy" to see me, I finally have an appointment with a GP (who I have never met) so I can tell her that I am going to take MJ and ask if there is any possibility they can prescribe it on the NHS (I know there isn't but I'll ask, anyway).

Still not opened the box that my new scales came in, so I still don't know my starting weight, but I will try to pluck up the courage today.
