Mounjaro/Wegovy with >5 stone/30kg to lose - thread 10!

MooBaggage · 22/08/2025 15:21

New thread for anyone with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. All welcome, whichever part of the journey you are on.

We have newbies and those who have got to their targets and lots of us in between at various stages, all supporting each other along the way.

Kiwis and milled flaxseed are still the order of the day, along with water, posh scales, weight loss charts (thank you Infosec!), Vinted and even more water...

We're coping with the Mounjaro palavers and hoping that somehow, we will all still be able to carry on with this amazing journey which is working so well for most of us.

No discount codes please - there is a separate thread for that.

An amazing transformation already @AnneinEdinburgh 👏👏👏

And good luck to @dimples76 🍀

AnneinEdinburgh · 22/10/2025 09:06

Thanks all - am in size 14 jeans today and can almost breathe! OK they are wide legged but ....

Onwards and downwards xx

HumBumBum · 22/10/2025 09:39

Morning all, thanks for sharing pics, I do find them motivating (but not enough to join the Facebook groups!). Maybe when I reach goal (and feeling confident, which I’m not today, despite what the numbers say).

SW 245lbs
CW 164lbs (11st 10, BMI 27.2)
GW 150lbs - BMI normal
81lbs down which is 33% of body weight, 1 stone to go, to get to normal.

This week I ate a McMuffin for breakfast and a huge Sunday roast and it didn’t affect my numbers - I‘m taking that as a win!

MooBaggage · 22/10/2025 09:55

blooming heck @HumBumBum your stats are amazing - 81lbs down!! Isn't it crazy that we can make such brilliant progress but still have days where it all feels rubbish?

Roll on the new normal, where having fitter, trimmer bodies is just the thing we have 😬

@AnneinEdinburgh Brilliant! Look at your tiny waist! You must feel so much better.

Looking amazing @MooBaggage & @AnneinEdinburgh ! Well done and thank you for being brave enough to post your photos. They really are inspiring 💐
DH showed me a photo the other day from Christmas 2020 that was absolutely horrendous (and I don't think that I'd even reached my heaviest at that point! 😭), but it will make a good 'before' photo. I will try and take an updated photo at some point for the almost 'after'! Still hate having my photo taken no matter what size I am. Definitely not of the selfie generation! 🤣

Hope the lecture went ok @dimples76 🤞

alwaysscared · 22/10/2025 18:23

Evening all, hope we are all well. I had my pre op yesterday for my op next week (hopefully 3rd time lucky!!) and they said I no longer need to stop the MJ! I’m so happy about this as I’ve been dreading it!
Also, I’m now 1lb off a 6 stone loss, bloody amazing! 1 more stone and my BMI will be 25!

dimples76 · 22/10/2025 19:10

Thanks all. The lecture went fine, thanks.

I wore my 'new' vinted coat today and a student stopped me in the corridor to say how much she loved it. I think it's the first time in 18 years at the uni that my workwear has elicited praise from a student! The last time I was my current weight was about 25 years ago (half my age).

After a lot of umming and ahhing I have decided to stick with mounjaro. I was planning to move to wegovy because of the cost but I have now decided that I don't want to lose my current momentum and will just have to economise further....

Fantastic news @alwaysscared . Well done!

Seahorsesplendour · 22/10/2025 19:43

@dimples76 ive done the same I can’t really afford it financially however I decided emotionally I can’t afford not too having come so far!!

just brought 2 x 15mg pens and the price was eye watering!! I’m on 10mg so will make them last bit longer !!

going to reassess again after Christmas!!

HumBumBum · 22/10/2025 20:45

I’ve seen LOTS of ads today for cut price weight loss medication, I clicked a few and they wanted too much info before they gave me a price. Anyone seen good deals on MJ?

InfoSecInTheCity · 22/10/2025 21:56

As we’ve been sharing photos and you lovely lot have helped me so much in finding my wardrobe for this event here’s a pic of me suited and booted this week for my big work thing along with a where it all started pic

QueenOfHiraeth · 22/10/2025 22:38

@InfoSecInTheCity Witwoooo! Look at you! You look amazing.
I need to get my arse in gear because I want to look like that!

I'm still bouncing around BMI 26 and size 14 top, 16 bottoms but struggling to think how to shake things up as I don't think I can reduce calories any further without real effort

OnwardsDownwards · 22/10/2025 23:16

Fabulous pictures ladies!

I gingerly stepped on the scales today, having avoided them for 10 days as I haven’t been doing great. But am 3lb down from last weigh in! (I don’t really have a pattern to my weight ins, they’re just when I think about it!)

Off on holiday now - hence weigh in, I wanted to know the impact of a week of all inclusive… Am hoping to find a balance - not restricting but not gorging either! I dropped down a little on dose - I’ve been on 12.5 but have had a bit of an upset stomach the last week. Not sure whether it was a bug or side effect, but I’ve played it safe and gone with a dose of 10 for this week.

AnneinEdinburgh · 23/10/2025 02:57

@alwaysscared Great news about not having to stop the MJ and I'm so pleased and relieved your stall finally shifted and you've been doing really well ever since - hurrah! All those weeks it seemed impossible and so frustrating, and here you are, very nearly all done 😃

I hope the operation next week happens and goes well - keep us updated and tons of luck xxx
