Mounjaro/Wegovy with >5 stone/30kg to lose - thread 10!

MooBaggage · 22/08/2025 15:21

New thread for anyone with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. All welcome, whichever part of the journey you are on.

We have newbies and those who have got to their targets and lots of us in between at various stages, all supporting each other along the way.

Kiwis and milled flaxseed are still the order of the day, along with water, posh scales, weight loss charts (thank you Infosec!), Vinted and even more water...

We're coping with the Mounjaro palavers and hoping that somehow, we will all still be able to carry on with this amazing journey which is working so well for most of us.

No discount codes please - there is a separate thread for that.

AnneinEdinburgh · 22/08/2025 16:02

Hi @MooBaggage and thanks for this!

I am celebrating, went for my annual nurse health check today, and my blood pressure is now 'perfect'! Thanks MJ!

Darlinghag · 22/08/2025 16:47

The hag, reporting for duty 🙋🏻‍♀️💪🏽🫵🏻

WeAllHaveWings · 22/08/2025 17:17

Checking in 😊

ShrankLastWinter · 22/08/2025 17:22

I didn’t dare join these threads properly because I didn’t think I could lose 30kg. But now I have. Took 8 months, though all but the last 3 went in 6 months. Amazing drug. Now shifting to figuring out maintenance.

Have been neglecting the kiwis lately and suffering, so thanks for reminder.

Pumpkinforever · 22/08/2025 17:27

5 stone 1lb down. Another stone and a half to go.

mince3point14159265 · 22/08/2025 17:41

Thanks for the new thread @MooBaggage ❤️

Congrats on fab losses @ShrankLastWinter & @Pumpkinforever ! 🎉🎉🎉

This mj really is getting expensive; I've had to finally give in and buy new underwear as I was hating the feeling that my knickers were about to fall down at any minute 🫣 and also had to buy another swimsuit for my holiday. Ok that's a lie; I bought 2. Whoops! 😅

TEARELBO · 22/08/2025 17:46

I’ve just collected a month supply of ozempic
starting Monday morning as am away for the weekend
have 30-40kg to lose

TEARELBO · 22/08/2025 17:46

What are the kiwis for

GiveMeWordGames · 22/08/2025 17:48

@mince3point14159265 same! I finally accepted the fact my M&S size 20 pants were up under my boobs and bought some size 18s.

RobinEllacotStrike · 22/08/2025 18:16

@TEARELBO 2 kiwis a day are proven to keep very regular bowels.

Constipation is a common side effect of WLI but many of us find eating 🥝🥝 daily keeps everything regular.

Also I am from NZ and known as a kiwi.

You will see me posting 🥝🥝 quite often as a reminder to eat 🥝🥝 or whatever you need to eat to keep constipation at bay.

RobinEllacotStrike · 22/08/2025 18:17

and welcome @TEARELBO - you are in a good place here

NotsosunnyShropshire · 22/08/2025 18:42

Well, I can order another pen now, but this will most likely be my last one unfortunately. I have a very good wage, but this is just too much for the household finances now.

NotsosunnyShropshire · 22/08/2025 18:43

Forgot to add the screenshot from MedExpress. D’oh!

OnwardsDownwards · 22/08/2025 18:57

I’ve just seen that from MedExpress too. I’d just managed to save £100 off my monthly spend elsewhere, I can’t really afford for it to go straight on this!

I’ve had a look at what MedExpress are saying about moving to WeGovy, you can move to an equivalent dose or a step down. So not starting at the beginning again. On 10mg moving to the equivalent I think would be about £100 a month cheaper.

I may have to look at that again. My body is slooooowly losing weight, but my head has nowhere near caught up yet. I’ll end up rebounding back to my original 118kg weight. Glad I kept some of my better quality clothes in the larger sizes.

plus, I’ll miss you guys and your support and tips.

I wonder how much this will affect the pharmacies?

Amarajean · 22/08/2025 19:34

Checking in thanks @MooBaggage ,also,I tell everyone who asks about my weight that I took take mounjaro.
I'm not bothered by who knows either!!
Everyone I've told has been supportive of my use,I've even been surprised at how many people I've told that they're taking it as well.
I'm so annoyed,to say the least,my mj pen has broke, the plunger won't plunge!!
Anyone got any advice as to how I can fix it or will I have to send it back and miss my weekly injection?
Tia lovely losers.

Slowrunning · 22/08/2025 19:58

Checking in on the new thread. Thank you @MooBaggage

I am now on week 30 and 79lb down.
I'm not sure where my final goal is going to be, I have a pair of size 12 work trousers that are still too snug so my current goal is just to be able to fit in them comfortably. Then I'll re-evaluate.
At almost 50 I am not aiming for skinny!
I am however definitely going to be starting to taper down once I have used up my current two pens as I can't afford the new prices for the high dose pens.
If I can maintain on 2.5mg then I might be able to stay on it for a while as it seems that could be more affordable.

@Amarajean have you tried different needles? The only pen I had struggles with I managed to get working on the third needle.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 22/08/2025 20:00

Checking in. Thanks for the new thread @MooBaggage.

You will all think me very naive but I have got home today from several back-to-back trips and only now fully absorbed the extent of the pen availability crisis. I’m thankful that I’m more or less at goal and had already started titrating down, but I think I’d feel very differently if this had all happened three months ago and I had seen the smug posts I’ve read today from some of the stockpilers. I’m hoping to get one 5mg pen before the price rises. I’m seriously considering then moving on to Wegovy.

Amarajean · 22/08/2025 20:07

@Slowrunning thank you so much ,I tried a new needle and it worked!!
I already ordered a new pen as I thought it was done for. Didn't think of asking on here until I was ready to post it back. So now I've got an extra pen.
I'm rather pleased with that,so thank you again!

Carolwithane · 22/08/2025 20:18

Fell off the last thread due to school holidays, I'm in Scotland though so they are now over, thank fu.... I mean goodness 😆

Slooooow loser! Need another 3lb to get to 3 stone (started in January). Was 2lbs but put 5lbs on during a fortnight in Cyprus. Lost 4lbs first week back do obviously mainly water weight- primarily beer and ice cream

Will try my best to keep up from now on

Sam187 · 22/08/2025 20:20

@Darlinghag Asda have approved my pens, they arrive on Tuesday ☺️

EternalFatalist · 22/08/2025 20:41

My order that I placed with Asda on 15 August for a continuation pack (one 7.5mg pen and one 10mg pen) was approved this afternoon and will be delivered by DPD before noon tomorrow. So that is a relief and hopefully others who are still waiting will receive updates imminently. Still no news on post-1 September pricing, but hopefully that means that they are in active negotiations for some sort of reductions.🤞

I am down another two lbs today (injection and tracking day), so total loss is 5st 5lbs. I'm still working towards a healthy BMI but it's getting closer.
