Maybe moaning on here works.... just had the RM update that they should be delivering to me tomorrow.

That's good news!

Anyway. I’ve chilled and refused to join in the hysteria and I’ve just taken my final remaining dose. So that’s me out. I’ve had my usual order from my usual provider cancelled and I can’t see any other pharmacy with stock of 15mg who’s turning around new customer orders within a week so I’m a bit fucked now.

Have you tried Voy? I'm on 15mg and not had any problem with my usual order last week or bringing my next one forward to start of Sept (they've said price rises won't apply until at least 14th Sept). I think because they are a subscription model they probably find it easier to know how much stock is needed so havent been as affected by the panic buying mayhem (there's no min subscription period so you can always cancel after a month if you want to go elsewhere long term).

I have a referral code for £50 off first order. DM me if you would like it.

It’s the British approach to medicine. If you need a medicine it’s available to you (historically free via your Dr etc) and if upo don’t need it you won’t be trying to acquire it.

unlike the US we are not subjected to advertising of medication because there’s no need. We don’t expect choice, or to be making our own decisions on medication. It’s done via the nhs.

the whole parasocial marketing of mounjaro is a huge departure in the way ‘we do medicine’.

I do get that. I think it’s because I am very much the target market for TikTok etc., I am always finding new products on there! I suppose it’s a bit like my family being uneasy about the fact I’m ordering medication online

I haven’t stockpiled - I think I’ll wait for it to die down - I have a 2 or 3 weeks of my pen left and hopefully by then a solution will present itself.

I’m not keen to spend £300 a pen but it does work and makes the weight loss much much easier so maybe I get my normal pen and jab every 10 days and keep in the fridge instead to mitigate the costs a little. I don’t bother with the golden dose but I will now. Makes sense not to spend to the max.

You never used the golden dose 🙀🙀🙀🙀

why not? It’s the extra 5th free and at the cost why wouldnt you

I never had one that wasn’t over .6 / .7 so another full dose

This is exactly where I'm at, and possibly the wake up call I needed.

Mounjaro and the huge amount of people on it privately is a massive departure from the our usual expectations around medication prescriptions.

We’ve spent a fair bit of time in the US and it used to surprise me at first how many adverts for medicines there are on TV.

Weight loss drugs here seem to be going that way. I’ve seen Juniper advertised on TV before now.

LateralBlinking · 21/08/2025 21:01

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 21/08/2025 19:25

I think it will be interesting to see what happens in Sept/Oct when lots of people won't need to place orders for a while as they will be using up their stashes. Will the pharmacies know that's what's happening and hold their nerve or will there be a flurry of offers and incentives?

Agree. I won’t be needing to order for a while and I’ll be maintaining fairly soon. I reckon come October and beyond there will be some better offers as competition increases too. I hope so for newbies.

Advertising WLI was cracked down on recently as advertising prescription-only medicines is not legal in the UK:

I think I’m just reading and watching for the drama. It’s tragic! I’ve been maintaining for months now. I need a new hobby.

@FlappyFish I shouldn’t laugh 😆 at that but I did and I hear ya! That said, I wasn’t laughing last weekend when I first found out about the shortage! Ironically, I happened to go on this MN forum when I hadn’t been on it for awhile, which is when I found out about the price hike and went into pure panic mode, I own it. Especially when I then saw my usual pharmacy had zero stock. Sometimes ignorance is bliss! I was all over the place. What new hobby were you thinking of?

I know, when I saw the advert it didn’t state it sold WLI. In fact it was very vague which made me look at them online and figured it out. So I guess their aim was to draw people in and it worked.

Yes, brand ambassadors for prescription meds makes me uncomfortable too. Don’t get them for statins, do you? 😂

Haha! I'm AuADHD and sadly this farrago has clearly become my special interest.

I’ve just seen that Oushk did a live with a brand ambassador at 7 on… TikTok. I feel very old.

It was mostly just answering questions about switching to Wegovy etc.

No price updates until end of next week.

They're really struggling with stock right now - they don't have any delivery dates for their 5, 7, or 12.5mg. 10s and 15s are coming in significantly less than what was requested from the suppliers.

I imagine most pharmacies are experiencing the same issues.

They’ve pushed it back another week?

Motnight · 21/08/2025 21:59

Just received an email from Zava saying that my 15 mg pen order made on 16th August will arrive between 27th and 28th August if clinically improved. It's my usual order, I've been with Zava over a year now. Not sure whether to put another order in.

Yes, it's going to be next week now.

They said they didn't want to jump the gun by giving a price list at this stage, in case they were still able to negotiate a better deal. They're apparently still in talks with Eli Lilly.

Well, I'd rather they took their time on that to be fair, if there's any way of a better deal. Jesus, it's giving me Brexit deal flashbacks.

TryingAgainAgainAgain · 21/08/2025 22:04

I've heard literally nothing from Farmeci since ordering as usual on 14th, @Motnight. And Lotus, my backup, just keep sending me spam emails about meal plans, FFS. I was trying to be patient, but I'm getting a bit worried now.

I have ordered 3 from my usual supplier, 1 from boots, 1 from super drug, and I had 1 spare in the fridge already and one new one for the coming month. So 7 months should buy me some room to decide what to do.
When I was in boots and super drug the whole queue was collecting mounjaro.

Pretty sure yes, it was all just ‘lifestyle management’ vague bullshit that didn’t mention WLI but do a consultation with us to find the best outcomes for you 🤨

Oooh, are Mumsnet colluding with a supplier to flout rules around advertising of POMs?

I'm with oushk and they are not taking orders for any more in August. I am on 15 and have had to swap to another provider which charged £250

I managed to order 12.5 today from them

I ideally wanted 10 but none in stock so will ‘dose’ from that and get 6.5 weeks out of it

Edited

Like most websites that accept 3rd party advertising, MN ad spots likely get sold by a media agency and MNHQ can set out some basic rules (like I dunno, no baby formula ads) but then after that they see the ads as we do. They likely haven’t said “no weight loss drug ads” because we’ve never had them in the U.K. before!

I suspect the pharmacies that are advertising are going to get themselves in trouble with their regulator.
