Any idea how much 5mg Mounjaro will be after increase? I tried looking at websites but no info?

CreepyDibillo · 16/08/2025 15:48

Yes, thank you. I'd been following the other thread but didn't post due to the turn the conversation took.

I'm only 5 weeks into my journey but can't believe the difference in how I feel already, weight loss aside. There are definite hormonal and mental benefits for me.

I'm considering my options and trying not to make any decisions until more concrete information is known. It's so difficult to stay calm about it all though.

I really feel for those of you on the higher doses, I really hope you're all able to find a solution 💐

Just seen an update on Monj which might be useful to lots of people.

PoundsLost · 16/08/2025 15:52

I haven’t stockpiled - I think I’ll wait for it to die down - I have a 2 or 3 weeks of my pen left and hopefully by then a solution will present itself.

I’m not keen to spend £300 a pen but it does work and makes the weight loss much much easier so maybe I get my normal pen and jab every 10 days and keep in the fridge instead to mitigate the costs a little. I don’t bother with the golden dose but I will now. Makes sense not to spend to the max.

Thistleton · 16/08/2025 15:58

Thank you for this thread @TryingAgainAgainAgain I was lurking on the other and unhappy with the combative tone of some posters, but kept reading to try and keep up with news and opinions.

I am an August starter so only just getting going and like others at various stages in their weight loss I’m feeling anxious about the price increases. My next pen came through the day before the news broke so I’m ok for another month at least but no idea what I will do after that. I feel desperately sorry for people in need of the next pen and not able to source one.

SaintAgatha · 16/08/2025 16:01

Peeks head around door Is it safe to come in? 😆

ChangingWeight · 16/08/2025 16:02

I’m not personally impacted by this, but I can’t help but wonder if the delayed price announcement is making things worse for those who are? I think it means people might be stuck in limbo unsure of the future cost and not able to put a plan in place hence the stockpiling.

Can you share, I don't know what Monj is

AThousandCaloriesToTheBad · 16/08/2025 16:04

Checking in. What a situation eh? I’m not personally affected (yet) either but have had similar scary feelings about shopping around for another private prescription drug that is sometimes inaccesible to me through certain providers due to government directives so I think I get it.

FlappyFish · 16/08/2025 16:05

Now that I’ve had 48 hours and there’s a calmer thread I’ve decided to just see what happens. I posted on my month thread - but I’ve been on maintenance for basically a year and dropped another stone in that time. (Official maintenance was November 24).

I did stop for 6 weeks before I went back on for maintenance. I titrated down September/October 2024.

Those six weeks were hard. Very hard. Hence the maintenance.

However, I’m now toned. I gym at least three times a week with cardio and weights. That wasn’t properly in place ten months back.

I can afford it whatever happens. I may just be buying fewer clothes…

I feel for anyone further back in this journey. Heck, I feel for all of us.

I started MJ pretty much the week it was released when we just had one support thread, way before the monthly threads as the awareness spread.

I hope everyone finds a way forward that works for them.

I think i saw 179 on oushk, but they are small so won't get the amount of discount bigger players might negotiate. I would wait and see if you can. I on 15 and they are saying 330 for that. So I'll be stopping

This ‘Oushk’ sounds like one to stay away from, imo.

RatherTardy · 16/08/2025 16:10

Lurking.

My new pen turned up this morning (I'd ordered it before all this kerfuffle).
I'm wishing I'd bought 2 now!
If it IS £300 for a pen, I won't be able to afford to keep going

Kipperandarthur · 16/08/2025 16:11

I think things will calm down with time and negotiations will be made between EL and suppliers.

As normal the media have pumped things up to quite a degree which may not reflect the true price increases down the line.

One supplier Medicine Marketplace has already listed what its prices will be and whilst they are higher than before they are not at the level that some of the media were speculating. (This pricing was on the other thread.) In fact there are many suppliers currently charging the type of prices that Medicine Marketplace have said will be their new price points.

I also think that some people may look at alternatives such as Wegovy.

But I also think there is a wider issue that goes way beyond Weight Loss Injections and relates to all drug pricing.

Oh, why? I moved their for maintenance and never had a problem. Some customers are a bit weird, but if you just order its fine. FB group is too culty for me.

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 16/08/2025 16:15

I didn't see the other thread so not sure what happened, and am not really aware of the price increase. I am prescribed MJ by my GP so it's on the NHS and I don't pay. I'm not using it to lose weight but am very worried that people are talking about stockpiling it as that might cause issues for people like me who have a medical need for it

Is anyone able to post a link to a reliable news source?

They sound very lax with patient and product safety and more of a lifestyle brand than a pharmacy, with some kind of cult around the seemingly very unprofessional CEO.

I’ve used many online pharmacies for prescriptions and oushk looks to me more like an aesthetics business than a medical one 🤷🏻‍♀️

Medicine marketplace updated their website yesterday. They have confirmed £178 for 5mg from 1st Sept. It’s not good but it’s manageable for me if I don’t have to go any higher. I started in April and so far 5mg is working steadily. I only have around a stone to go to goal and I had a pen ahead at home so I am just trying to keep calm and see what happens.

Hope all are doing ok, this has come as a shock to many and it’s understandable to see the upset and panic buying. It’s unfortunate these threads end up in active/trending as they attract the idiots and trolls in a way our monthly threads don’t as they mostly fly under the radar.

SilenceInside · 16/08/2025 16:17

@AnnaQuayInTheUk supplies for the NHS are totally separate to private stocks and have already been agreed in advance. The BBC article is clear that the NHS is not affected.

MMP (Medical Marketplace) so one of the biggies have apparently set their price for 5mg at £178 from 1 September. And that’s a similar price to Ousk (a smaller outfit). So that might be a useful guide, but think we have to just wait to get a clearer picture of how it will shake down.

After reading the other thread, i'm hoping other suppliers are priced like medical market place. I've tried to move to them before but was rejected due to having an underactive thyroid.
