For anyone who would like a calmer place to share support and information about the price increases.

I wouldn't go near Juniper after someone posted on here how they are pushing Wegovy by claiming that the results are equivalent to Mounjaro by quoting studies on the new 7.2 dose, which of course they cannot sell yet. I posted some screenshots earlier which I think are truly misleading and unethical.

Completely agree, some of these pharmacies have not handled this well at all.

Freecall · 21/08/2025 11:04

I have also heard that rumor.

The pens and the packs they come in appear to language specific though. In mine the instructions are only in English so I suspect that they are not shipped elsewhere.

I think like everything with GLP-1 meds, it’s so variable. Someone I’ve followed for ages on Instagram found that after she had a lengthy break for skin removal surgery, she was able to get good, long-term suppression from 5mg (obviously having had to start at 2.5 again) having previously been on 15mg.

But yes, it’s just another worry isn’t it? I’ve stopped again, this time for surgery. Although it turns out it depends on the anaesthetist. Was told at my pre-op that some now don’t require you to stop, some want a week off. But I was already off as I couldn’t find out in advance and I didn’t want to jeopardise the surgery.

I am having surgery under general anaesthetic at the beginning of October. Usually inject on Thursday, the operation is the following Wednesday and Ive been told by the consultant that’s fine.

I’m wondering if it’s the wholesalers who are doing this?
It was said that part of the price problem was some wholesalers were taking UK allocated stock and selling in to Europe to make a profit, obviously don’t know if this is true or not, but the wholesalers hold the supply that the pharmacies need, if they withhold till the price rise they will make more money.

I have also heard that rumor.

Kipperandarthur · 21/08/2025 11:14

It will be interesting to see when the majority of pharmacies actually announce what their prices will be. Surely it's now just a matter of days now.

My local pharmacy, part of a chain, has announced theirs and a few on line have as well but the majority are still to publish their new pricing structure.

It's obvious that many have been making a lucrative business out of WLI and time will tell who are the players in this long term and who are too small to negotiate decent discounts. One assumes the days of discount codes, referrals etc are well and truly over as well.

Motnight · 21/08/2025 11:17

I ordered 12.5 mg from my usual supplier, Zava, on Saturday. It has said processing since then. I rang the customer service helpline which is closed for the day due to "unprecedented demand" but has a recorded message. The message says amongst other things that it will honour the price that you were quoted at the time that you ordered it. It also says that it is limiting anything above 2.5 mg to returning patients only. The pending transaction has also today disappeared from my banking app?

I am lucky that I have 3 doses left in my current pen, but am nervous that supply is going to be a long term issue as of now.

TryingAgainAgainAgain · 21/08/2025 11:23

I don't think there's any suggestion that supply will be an issue after 1 September, @Motnight. It's just a matter of affording it. But obviously our peace of mind has been badly affected by this, so I understand the worry.

So here is the updated prices from Numan who I am with - this is around £70 more per pen so not so bad but this is the kick up the arse I need to come off now as I can’t rely on this forever!

I’m growing sick of this.

there’s people in the Oushk community who have had three pens already, and are now trying to buy more. That is where it crosses into greed for me

That sucks. My experience was the pharmacist asking me what I wanted to do and to achieve and why. No pressure at all. Just interest and shared thought. That included me naming why I wanted to start on the 2nd dose.

Im a nurse and a therapist so I guess I value the discussion. I’m not so fussed about the group or support side. It may be the same drug, but I value someone else making clinical decisions with me as opposed to letting me be solely in charge.

TryingAgainAgainAgain · 21/08/2025 11:45

I can totally understand that, @markyb123. That's ideal on a personal level. The company strategy of using research/dose availability in a misleading way will presumably be determined at another level.

there’s people in the Oushk community who have had three pens already, and are now trying to buy more. That is where it crosses into greed for me

Funny you should say that… I have had x 2 emails from Oushk this morning about low stock levels and am concerned that the pen I ordered last weekend for delivery on the 28th could be a no show. Thought I was being responsible by not ordering for immediate delivery and now I’m worried that I have stitched myself up.

That's interesting thank you for posting these updated prices from Numan.

It's amazing the disparity at the moment that I'm seeing. My local pharmacy is
2.5 £133
5.0 £180
7.5 £255
10 £255
12.5 £330
15 £330
These are Day Lewis pharmacy prices. You are also given the wipes and the little needles as well.

So my local in person pharmacy is cheaper on the lower doses then more expensive at 12.5 and 15. Both of these doses I want to avoid if at all possible

I also really want to build upon the good rapport that I have with my local pharmacist who is willing to support during maintenance providing I am sensible with my approach.

But you can see there is a price difference of over £100 more expensive with Numan at the starting dose.

It’s confirmed all orders placed will be fulfilled

im just sick of the people on there complaining because they can’t get 5!

Gingercar · 21/08/2025 11:54

I’ve just had my three pen bundle approved. I ordered one pen the day before the announcement and I have one more dose on my current pen (plus golden). I’m hoping that can get me mostly through the next six months and down another 3 stone. Then I will probably have to stop. But hopefully I will be at/close to where I need to get. Definitely in a better situation than if I had to stop in six or seven weeks, which would be what I’d have to do if I hadn’t got a few pens. I feel so relieved.

Thanks - that’s reassuring, I’d missed the bit about current orders being fulfilled. I do agree though that people should perhaps have a think before complaining about not being able to buy multiple pens.

They amended it after the initial post I think.

It’s shocking in there at the moment. People with three on order complaining that they can’t get any more

It's also the pharmacies who are not prioritising their established customers who just want to order their regular single pen. I've seen so many people post here and on Reddit saying these orders were cancelled.

Thankfully that doesn’t appear to have been an issue with Oushk so far, but they do appear to be behind on shipping and not telling anyone

aren't Numan the one with £100 discount/referall scheme though, got to think they're still doing it based on these high prices in comparison to others we already know.

I can’t get into the mindset. If they’re Mounjaro patients who are genuinely worried about price, why are they spaffing money out up front to stock up? More credit than income?

I can understand why people have bought more than one, but all these people now carrying on just strike me as greedy.

Itscoldouthere · 21/08/2025 12:40

It’s also those people who are saying I bought 2 X 7.5 but I actually wanted 15 and now it won’t let me buy or change. Duh, why did you panic buy 7.5 if you are on 15?? That doesn’t make sense in anyway, you would think they had said they were stopping making it!
