Medbasic have now come back to me after four days and all of their insulin needles etc are out of stock. So I’m buggered for my fourth dose!!

Try a local pharmacy for insulin needles they may be able to help. Failing that the hard twist does work on some pens (a bit hit or miss, but worth a try if you get desperate)

I think I’ve got some on the way from UK Medi but I’m off to the local pharmacy tomorrow for a height check to have on hand, so I’ll ask if they don’t dispatch like they say!

BendoftheBeginning · 19/08/2025 10:34

I have my head firmly in the sand! Have not heard from Oushk about my 7.5mg order, but that’s normal for them - I’m not expecting delivery until the start of Sept. Still miffed 10mg wasn’t available, and a bit worried about what my next order will look like (stock, price, etc).

I have been taking 2 half-doses a week to spread my suppression evenly (which has worked brilliantly), so now I am trying to extend the time between half-doses to see how I get on.

Trinck · 19/08/2025 10:37

I'm a supplier switcher. My aim is to use referral codes every month and get as cheap as possible. I also figure, this will mean I'm an existing customer with lots of different companies. So far I've used Medicspot and Numan.

I ordered from Juniper yesterday morning as a new customer. £154 for 7.5mg, which I don't think is bad. I got the dispatch notification today, which I am incredibly relieved about!

That was with a referral code. I have a £75 referral code if anyone needs it.

Did you just have to provide your existing prescription for Juniper?

Trinck · 19/08/2025 11:03

Yeah. I had to send a photo of the box from my current pen.

(That's been the same for all suppliers I've tried)

I don't think any supplier will offer switching without proof of your existing prescription (and arguably nor should they!)

Yes I expected to provide proof of prescription, I was thinking more along the lines of pics and video call etc aswell.

gardenangels · 19/08/2025 11:18

I am so upset with all this. I think just wasted nearly £200 on a 5mg pen. No idea it was being delivered today so probably be ruined by the time it is delivered tomorrow. It took me ages to get that pen.

FurForksSake · 19/08/2025 11:20

Why would it be ruined @gardenangels it should be fine, but you might need to start using it asap. If you’ve got one in the fridge unopened and this one, use this one first?

It won’t be ruined? It’s not that hot, the ice packs will last until tomorrow presuming it was dispatched yesterday

gardenangels · 19/08/2025 11:26

It was dispatched last night. I am still using a pen so cannot use it straight away. I am so angry that this situation has been made worse by panic buying.

Sorry I misread your original message!

When I was with Juniper (back in Feb) I had to provide pics, no video call though. Not sure if that's changed.

sweetpickle2 · 19/08/2025 11:37

It should be fine @gardenangels, I've missed a delivery before and had it the next day and then kept it in the fridge until use. It won't be ruined and I don't see how panic buying has made that situation worse.

So that’ll be fine - the cold chain is maintained by the ice packs for 48 hours. Just pop it in the fridge when you get it

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight i still haven't heard from Asda. Even though I placed my order on Thursday evening it registered on the following day. No messages as of yet. I also placed two orders for two separate pens. I've got two doses left of my current pen & then I will be seriously stuck. Plus I'm going on holiday in just over a week. Is the pen safe for a few days in the Asda pharmacy?

Edited

My last 2 pens at Asda took 7 days to get approved so you should hear back on Thursday or Friday. I have left my pen for 5 days at Asda Pharmacy previously and they are fine as they are kept in refrigerator. When I collect my pen they are cold and I am advised to put it into refrigerator as soon as I go home.

Not really sure what this actually means, but suggests maybe more developments on price (hopefully good) - at least for some pharmacies. Certainly it seems worth taking a 'wait and see' approach until we know for sure what prices are going to be, before doing anything drastic like switching or quitting MJ.

Seems like the list prices were for the sake of Trump and preserving some shred of profits in the US

MagicaMagical · 19/08/2025 12:08

Juniper have this on their site (photo pending). Pretty shocking as they don’t prescribe the 7.2mg WeGovy as it’s not licensed.

That’s awful because it’s been found to not be as effective!

Yeah. I wonder if this is why some pharamcies are taking longer to announce prices. e.g Oushk seem to have pushed back the date they expect to confirm prices a couple of times. Possibly they are in negotiations about something like this.

Summerbay23 · 19/08/2025 12:11

Doggymummar · 19/08/2025 09:00

You just have to have it booked. What delivery date did you select?

Edited

Ahh - I've logged back in and it looks like it has automatically selected 31st August. I suppose given my verification call isn't until 25th Aug that isn't that bad?

MagicaMagical · 19/08/2025 12:11

This is interesting from the article - pharmacies have been advised it’s not clinically appropriate to prescribe multiple pens at once. Not going to help Oushk’s current issues with the regulator to keep their licence is it!
