For anyone who would like a calmer place to share support and information about the price increases.

Yeah. I wonder if this is why some pharamcies are taking longer to announce prices. e.g Oushk seem to have pushed back the date they expect to confirm prices a couple of times. Possibly they are in negotiations about something like this.

I saw a doc on Reddit stating the starting discounts for the highest priced doses would take them down to £240 ish. Obviously I don’t know how real this is, but it makes me think that the whole leak of the prices etc., was done this way on purpose.

This is interesting from the article - pharmacies have been advised it’s not clinically appropriate to prescribe multiple pens at once. Not going to help Oushk’s current issues with the regulator to keep their licence is it!

Seeing as he works for/closely with the wholesaler of Mounjaro I’m not surprised he’s saying that, it’s going to cost them money when they get less orders at the high doses!! Pharmacies have been offering bundles forever. I remember when I first started out you could buy 2.5, 5 and 7.5 bundles, and that was over a year ago.

Choux · 19/08/2025 12:16

ThatCyanSheep · 19/08/2025 12:08

That’s awful because it’s been found to not be as effective!

Apparently the 7.2mg dose not yet licensed is up there with 15mg Wegovy. Not sure when the license is expected but if you recently started Mounjaro but switch to Wegovy now it might be available when you get to the high doses.

I hope you feel this way for all pharmacies that have alllowed people to buy multiple pens during this price increase panic period

These threads seem to have taken a weird stance against Oushk for some reason. So many pharmacies have always allowed bundles. Oushk were due their re-inspection three weeks ago, if they were going to be shut down they wouldn’t be negotiating with Eli Lilly!

What do you mean? I have no feelings for Oushk either way - never used them - but they’re the ones with an enforcement order aren’t they? If others have one too, I guess they’d be in the same boat?

says here, they’ll be inspected in 6 months so that would be October

The gentleman quoted isn’t from the pharmaceutical council. He’s the CEO of Pharmadoctor, who supply Mounjaro to pharmacies from what I can understand. So he is, of course, going to be against anything that could threaten their profits.

Simple Online pharmacy have been selling 3xpen bundles for ages, they actually stopped doing on Thursday because of the demand.

Yeah it’s been a thing for well over a year, there’s obviously no issue with that. I’m sure the CEO of a wholesaler would be against it, especially now, given the massive price increases! I bet if he had it his way, he’d be begging for them to pause all orders until the prices have gone up.

FurForksSake · 19/08/2025 12:48

I know it’s against guidance, but my plan is to push out to a pen every six weeks, that should then work out at about £170 a month which is what I’m paying now. I’ll do that by spacing my doses a bit further and using golden dose. That feels very doable and a good plan anyway to stop being reliant on the medication in the longer term.

ellieinfrance · 19/08/2025 12:53

I've just ordered a 7.5 pen from MedExpress thinking there would be a delay in sending out - everything in their website is saying up to 10 days. Ordered at 10pm last night and it has just been dispatched! I'm not going to be home from holiday until Thursday. Will it be ok or of the fridge until then do you think?

Exactly what I’m planning.

That's annoying as I'm a previous customer and still awaiting clinical approval. That makes me think they don't have 12.5 and delaying me. Hmmmm.......

NotPerfectlyAdverage · 19/08/2025 12:55

I order on Thursday BTW from med express. Would appreciate some transparency from them

I think I’ve got some on the way from UK Medi but I’m off to the local pharmacy tomorrow for a height check to have on hand, so I’ll ask if they don’t dispatch like they say!

UK medi have dispatched in less than 2 and a half hours. Really, really impressed by that - if anyone else is looking for 5th dose stuff!

RainbowZebraWarrior · 19/08/2025 12:57

roshi42 · 19/08/2025 12:53

Yep. I take my doses 8 days apart (especially now, I'm on 15mg and don't always feel 'ready' for my next dose after 7 days). If I use the golden dose, then a pen will last me 40 days, so just shy of six weeks.

Yes that sounds suspect i think. I'm an existing MedExpress customer, but had no delays at all.

Choux · 19/08/2025 13:04

If you buy a 10mg pen it will have over 50mg in it with the bonus dose. If you then take 7.5mg doses from it you can just about get 7 doses from it to take on days 1,8,15,22,29,35 and 42 although that last dose might be pushing it a bit far for some people. A 12.5mg pen will do 6 x 10mg doses.

I have an order in for 12.5mg from Med express too. Not heard anything since Thursday lunchtime. If they told me they had 10mg in stock I would switch it to that.

ThatCyanSheep · 19/08/2025 13:10

Oushk have now confirmed they’re limited in what they can buy, presumably from the wholesalers. So they’re just exploiting this for their own gain. Sickening.

Hi. Do you have a link to UK Medi? When I google it, I just keep getting a medical supplies company, not an online pharmacy.

thank you

I have thought that a lot of the agitation against Oushk has sounded like rivial orgs trying to pull their customers. I am taking pretty much everything with a grain of salt because unless it’s a big legacy pharmacy chain, they’re all much of a muchness!

It’s very bizarre. They’re one of the most thorough and people have criticised that! By the sounds of it the issue related entirely to the temperature of the fridge right?
